Bro no sear? 😭 I feel like burgers can't smoke lomg enough to get a good crust like a brisket or pork butt can. You gotta seat burgers. Smoke em till 140 then sear 👍👍
There was also no point in flipping whilst smoking meats. Unless it’s a larger cut of meat a single 45 degree rotation is good enough , I’m sure if this burger wasn’t flipped you’d see way better bark on it
If you were to glaze it with ketchup, or mayo, or bbq sauce and let it run at a higher temp it could hold in all the seasonings and give you a good crunch
I smoked mine low at 250. Never flipped and had a phenomenal crust. None of this super smoke bs. Just start the traeger normally set to 250 and come back 2.5 hrs later. Easy
Meat will only take in smoke flavour until about 160f, so you should smoke them low and slow and then sear them. No need to flip them either. Adding smoke at the end will do nothing for the flavour.
It’s clear to me that everyone in the comments has either never done this before or all of their knowledge is through UA-cam videos. While I do agree with the reverse sear method, you can still smoke at a high temperature. The only difference is that it takes much less time to get to the desired internal temperature, which means less exposure to the smoke, which might be what this guy’s preference was.
And you usually smoke at a low heat at first, not cook at higher heat then turn down to smoke. Smoke at 160, until 140 internal, then seat them up. That's how I do it, and I don't use a stupid voice when I talk.
lol literally everyone seasons after forming the patties. Adding it before promotes over mixing, which can cause the meat to become tough. You want to mix as little as possible.
It pains me to see people use this type of ground beef. And if you tossed them in a hot cast iron for 45 seconds each side, they’d be immediately better.
This is the worst ground beef to ever put in a video. At least take it out of the packaging first. Better yet, go to a butcher and get real ground beef.
Thank you for watching this video on "How NOT to smoke burgers". FFS
Why not smoke them first and when near your desired finished temp, crank up to sear them?

Wtf is your problem?
If you don’t know, now you know n**** - Biggie
Flipping is not necessary whilst smoking meats. You could have had a better end product I’m sure by far but they do look amazing
Is that true with chicken thighs? I did them the other day and flipped them half way thru but they went slightly dry, did it at 175 for an hour

If thats what he wanted then he should have just bought a Weber

Took 2 seconds for me to hear this city boy is a waste of my time

I like to make my burger about a quarter pound; then cook at 275 for roughly about a hour and bam add the cheese till it melts and crush!

$599 Amazon but can go lower or higher. Saw some gas grills at Lowe’s for $1300. Not that bad actually for an electric grill
