June 6, 2019: Nice lightning from severe thunderstoms with very Dutch aftermath

Arcus, severe windgusts, torrential rains and nice lightning: Like June was the thunderstorm-month, shortly after midnight on June 6, 2019, it came to orange weatherwarnings again, for the third time that week, as severe thunderstorms were making their way up north.
While a few minutes beforehand a weatherman stated that the storms would not be that bad (compared to the days before), this would prove to be the worst storm in Purmerend.
It worried me that Estofex had issued warnings as 'Elevated supercells' had been sighted, but at the same time I was curious how bad it would be.
Around 11:30 PM on June 5, 2019, lightning was already lighting up the horizon for some time, but that was all we got. Around 12:10 AM (June 6) suddenly a strange line became visible in the clouds lit up by lightning.
I could not tell what it was right away. The videocamera could do that a little better. Very well defined arcus (shelfcloud) proved to be heading for us.
A picture I took about 1 minute later revealed that the lower part of the arcus/shelfcloud had a distinct wispy texture, an indication of a possible very severe storm.
Well, it was very severe! Out of nothing, the wind suddenly picked up and strong windgusts started 'pulling' me towards the opened window. Also the tripod with microphone was nearly sucked out: I was just able to prevent it from falling.
Because of all the warnings, I took a possible tornado into account, but severe windgusts was all we got.
Some rainshowers went over the city. The first two were nothing compared to the third, by far most severe shower. There was so much water spraying inside I could not take video anymore.
A little after 2 o'clock the visual spectacle started, with good visible lightning. Sound wasn't superspectacular, but not bad as well.
After about 3,5 hours of storms, things went quiet. Not for the fire department(s) unfortunately, who were dealing with loads of calls of wind- and waterdamage.
The Rijtuigstraat (Carriagestreet) in Purmerend also needed emergency intervention by the firebrigade, as it (apparently) was severely flooded.
In the Leeghwaterpark, the wind had caused the most trouble: Quite a lot of fences for a dance event had been blown over, just like some urinals.
The cycle-path at the Oudelandsdijkje (Oldlandsdyke), near the viaduct of the Waterlandlaan (Waterlandlane) was quite flooded as well.
The inlet at the Burgt, where water from the city of Purmerend flows into the Purmerland-polder (or, if needed, vice-versa) was processing a rare amount of water at 7 AM in the morning. The fact I made a video there shows how special it is.
The sluice at the Melkweg (Milkyway) also got huge amounts of water to process.
When I passed the inlet at the Burgt at 5:45 PM, a lot of water still had to leave the city of Purmerend.

Oh jep, ik ook ;) Ik kan dan heel nauwlettend radarbeelden in de gaten houden en loop regelmatig naar buiten te kijken. Voor je het weet mis je iets moois.

Zat die week in Kell am See in Duitsland, ook met fel onweer, regen en hagel? in de nacht van 5 naar 6 Juni. Want eerst was er niks zichtbaar(22u), tegen 23:30 ineens een heel gebied zo groot als West Europa. Wat een luide knallen heeft het opgeleverd rond Landal Hochwald. Weet wel dat het lokaal die 5 Juni tegen de 30 graden zat. Volgende dag werd het niet warmer dan 15 graden.

Ja het was in juni 2019 goed raak in grote delen van de Benelux, Duitsland en Polen. De temperatuur weet ik niet zo goed meer... Het enige wat me van 2019 goed bijgebleven is, is de extreme hittegolf die we te verduren kregen.
Dit onweer kwam inderdaad in de nacht van 5 naar 6 juni. Het flitste al duidelijk op de vijfde, maar het echt goede onweer kwam de zesde pas.

@@weeardguy ik weet het nog wel.. Had toetsweek die periode. Het was in de ochtenden 20 graden en kon oplopen tot 27-30 ongeveer. Was ook erg benauwd en vochtig toen.
