I think the Cocteau Twins are one of the most under-appreciated bands in history. I think future generations will wonder how it was possible that we did not fully comprehend their greatness.

For David, or, "Shum" as other's know him by:
He didn't let anybody know how sick he was. We were rivals on eBay and would outbid each other for the rarest of rare Cocteau Twins memorabilia. He laughed at me, when I told him I had 2 of everything; one set was for my office, and, the other locked away in an airtight bank vault. He asked me, "WHY?" I said, "If humanity ever destroys itself, I want alien archeologists to find my copy and realize, we had true beauty on Earth". He laughed histerically and gave his objections, asking me at bids, "Is this for collection 'A' or collection 'B'... ? If it's 'B' then I want it... !!!"
David was a great friend. The one thing I miss, which he use to keep a watch for were those who would attempt to list the lyrics onto his Cocteau uploads. When we first met, David was adamant about, "I Don't Want To Know... !!!" any lyrics. He felt it would unduly sabotage his understanding of what each song meant to himself. I was apart of a group to decipher all the Cocteau Twins song's, decades ago, but their carefully stashed away and I don't give them to anyone, with only three exceptions, over past 40 years and that was to prove there are actual words.
Nevertheless, there are only a few of we "Super-fan's" of the Cocteau Twins left and when David passed, the World suddenly feel's a little lonelier. After 40 year's of dedication to this incredible band, there isn't much I don't know about the Cocteau Twins, mainly because Lisa Beals aka. "mmmender" gave me an original script for the Cocteau Twins movie, originally to edit, shortly before she passed away from cancer. Elizabeth, as most know, is extremely private and didn't want to release a movie, because of the pain she had to endure. I respect her decision and because David treasured all three of members, he refused to read the script, saying "If Elizabeth doesn't want everyone to know her life's story, who am I to argue?"
How many people do you know, who would do that? -- What a guy and I'll miss you, my friend....

Dream pop is a subgenre of alternative rock, that emphasizes mood and atmosphere over melody. It's known for its dreamy, immersive sound, which is created through a combination of elements.
This, in the purest and best sense, is Cocteau Twins.
They were criminally slept-on and under-appreciated in the 80's, if you ask me. But thanks to the endurance of UA-cam, they will be forever be discovered by new fans 50-100 years from now. They were, and are, ahead of their time and this planet: they were truly a musical gift to this world.

36 years old this (incredible) track from this MAJESTERIAL band. Just roll that around your mind. 36 years prior to this song being released it was 1952.... What was music like in 1950? Les Paul and Mary Ford. Jump blues. Big bands... jazz... crooners.. If this was released today people would be like - yeah... cool this sounds contemporary.... If someone heard this in 1950 it would sound like aliens had landed - no one would have ANY frame of reference. AT ALL. It would SHOCK!! People would be scared Culture has stagnated for 25 + years. The internet is to blame. We're slaves to mundanity and the nerds have won. People worship idiots like Musk and technology is the new God. We've failed.

    Today love finds off little
You see your singing is so vague
His joined her love so little
Don't care if you're fickle, oh that I find
So many stars take care of me
Take care of those they love
    My love has done right
    Love me so, love little
So you see now the sun is out
    Love will accieve no ends
I can't be fickle, oh that I find
So many stars take care of me
Take care of those they love
    Our love has done right
They know where they like it
All of love flow 'round of me
    Strain and love me
    Don't care if you're fickle, oh that I find [Repeat: x 4]
    They know whether I come
    (We flow and we fall)
    I love for mine
    Strain and love me
    (These stars that love)
So many stars take care of me
All of love flow 'round me
    (Our love comes down)
    Our love comes down
    They know whether I come
    (We flow and we fall)
    Full of love fall down
    (Our love comes down)
    Strain and love me

Honestly Judith, I've had the "real lyrics" locked away for decades for personal reasons. I have never seen anybody write out the perfect lyrics before. Not many people understand Elizabeth's "incadence use" and "hinted fragments with integral verbiage" she's so famous for interacting. Usually, I hate to watch people, haphazardly cut and past what they find on the Internet; but, you have exceeded my expectations.
I always tell people, if you understand "how" Elizabeth sings, then everything becomes obvious to the careful listener. Thank You, Judith
