Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous about putting this up as it feels a little vulnerable putting my actual self out there but I'm glad you guys got a kick out of it! Thanks
Who else skipped forward during the mindless preamble and stopped when they saw him touching the cymbal only to hear him talking about how he did that to stop people that were skipping forward? Well played...
@@walwe60823 Are your cymbals and liver made of vibranium or something? Of course you can hit the former too hard, it's how the crack and chip. And don't get me started on alcohol poisoning.
Wow great review! At 5:21 you can really hear how this cymbal has a much more chalky, more ethereal, kind of polyester top to it, which compliments that bottom end really well, and has a really nice singing voice when the bow or bell of the cymbal is played.
The way people reviewing and demoing instruments and audio effects talk about acoustics makes me think warm, bright, mellow, chalky milk is gonna start pouring out of the damn thing
This had me instinctively looking for the "skip ad" button multiple times throughout the video. You KILLED me at "The first thing you're gonna notice--"
"in a way it's also not really about the ride cymbal, it's more kinda just about me" you just perfectly described every terrible gear reviewer on the planet
And also amp demos. "Here's the clean sound" [ single strum of an E Major chord one string at a time] "and here's the crunch sound" [The next 30 minutes]. Because nobody uses the clean sound of an amp, right?
I’m in love with your drumming rub to different things videos...saw this on Facebook and had no idea it was you until now. You’re hilarious hahaha, more of these type of parodies !! Pls £
I’m crackin’ up SOOOO HARD, brother! Your joke structures and delivery were spot on! Sometimes things look better on the page then they do when acted out. But you nailed it! The deeper purpose of comedy is to speak truth about ridiculousness within a culture, and to bring joy to people who were aware of it, but couldn’t articulate it. Good on you! Cheers, mate!
I can't wait for this beast to drop the stores. I saved up my 5 cents since it was announced 3 years ago. Thank you for your comprehensive review demo first look premiere session outlook future re-prerelease first edition.

More normal vids soonish
David Dockery Yeah! I mean, your “normal” stuff is awesome, but I love seeing videos like this too! This was great! 😂
More of this please!! It's hilarious!!
Adding to the thumbs up train, good job on creating such a long elaborate _and_ accurate meme 🥦
"Got a kick out of it."
Well we sure as hell didn't get any ride out of it...
Who else skipped forward during the mindless preamble and stopped when they saw him touching the cymbal only to hear him talking about how he did that to stop people that were skipping forward? Well played...
Or NOT played, as it turned out.
I skip that as well lol
timestamp? I was skimming through enjoying it but missed that
This was wildly unsatisfying. Well done
"this one's a female"
My sides acquired a higher level of vibration and left this dimension for the astral plane.
i'm sorry you had to do this accent for the whole video
I loved it
I'm American and was really confused for the first several seconds
Da ting about dis cymbal
Is it an impression of Benny Greb? If it is (Beany is a clue to it too) it's really good
The practice for this accent is the real reason we've seen fewer DD videos lately
I’ll definitely be picking up the 22”, triple round, low medium ride cymbal next Tuesday
"A creamy, milky bottom end to it."
Is it a cymbal or a craft beer? Either way, some people hit both WAY too damn hard.
creamy and milky beer? ew.
@@YodaMan. Well, I did say craft beer.

Irish guy tries to hide his accent: continued
you just unlocked a new dimension to this video
I legit thought it was an American guy doing a subtle Irish accent.
also known as Boston
This was made out of anger and I love it.
Don't forget the 95% of the comments that will be asking about how did you tune your snare.
"What snare is that?????????"
"What sticks are you using?????"
"What did you eat for breakfast this morning????????"
But how did you tune your cymbals?
Yo how did he tune his sticks?
What key did he tune his throne
How did he tune his cymbal felts
"very briefly but for a very long time describe to you using words how this thing sounds" 🤣🤣🤣 so good
3:24 Oh yeah... it does have a creamy beginning, chalky afterbirth
.....What was that?
how did you guess the name of my sludge metal side-project?
This promotion had a creamy, edgy, pvc-type character to it. It really opened up and talked to me.
lmao best part is when he acts like he's about to hit the bell really quietly and then just doesn't do it at all
Sometimes it's best to let these pies breathe
I laughed every time you went to hit the cymbal but didn't.
S tier video
HE'S ABOUT TO DO IT HERE IT COMES...
Oh, not yet
“We’re talking about how this thing smells” wtf 😂😂😂

Amazing. The American accent is hilarious
This had me instinctively looking for the "skip ad" button multiple times throughout the video. You KILLED me at "The first thing you're gonna notice--"
"Now that we're finally approaching a realistic playing volume" LMAO
I went in knowing it was a joke and still ended up feeling blue-balled.
Touché.
This also applies to drumset demos. They show up the cymbals and snare, which don't come with the kit, and never hit the toms.
"in a way it's also not really about the ride cymbal, it's more kinda just about me"
you just perfectly described every terrible gear reviewer on the planet
“Creamy, milky...” 😂
Man when he hit the cymbal and looked at the camera at 5:21, I felt that shit. I'm sold.
It's a symbiotic kind of cymbal. SYMbiotic. CYMbal
You should totally make an "every cymbal demo ever w/drums" video and add drums!
PIease
BUMP
that's a whole new meta right there
Fuck yes
3:05 "Tis ting taste like raw beef" lmao
"Reviewing cymbals from my prison cell"
4:58 he almost starts cracking up and has to look away from the camera so he doesn't ruin the take!
I know lmaooo

Polyester on top, milky on the bottom.
Like when I go to the beach.

Didn't expect this to be so consistently funny over 6 minutes. That was great. Also didn't know you're Irish.
In not even a drummer and I find this hilarious 😂🤣
I also find that some guitar demos tend to do the same thing 🤬
synth demos end up being either a lot of jibber jabber, or synth playing that sounds like a fax machine corrupting.

You gotta love how they pledge their undying love and devotion to the cymbals before playing
That whole not playing the cymbal being demoed during your "solo" was too perfect!
Ohh, it’s like Memphis Drum Shop, but with real thought!
“I’m gonna ask it to be my friend” that line has my laughing so hard!!! Top Notch Content my dude!
Man your comedy is just as good as your music!!! You're a star waiting to happen!
"This cymbal taste like raw beef!" 🤣😜
"alright gang, thats gonna go ahead and just about do it for most today...."
"I just want to play" I see just that in their eyes in every drummer demo xD

I've been playing with the same cracked cymbals for years and and this video perfectly explains why.
This is actually "every instrument and/or amp/software demo ever". Every single one. Ever.
I'd wait for 3 minutes to listen a cymbal sound, you got me LOL. Well Done.
a really nice singing voice when you awaken the cymbal
"this puppy" got me.
I didnt really know what I would be getting myself into, klicking on this video. But you really made my day with this one, man. Great video!

That little point off-screen really got to me
I really like the ting on this ting
Came for the cymbal stayed for the playing
The way he looks at the cymbal while hitting every part of the kit except for the cymbal itself is just so fucking accurate XD
I don't know why I've only just found this but it's best thing I've seen all year
Andy Murray back at it again with the US accent
Top tier MacTroll! 10 out of 10. Would buy again!
There’s so many great bits in this video - this was hilarious!
This reminds me so much of the Vulfpeck "Joe Dart Bass" video
You're commitment is admirable, dear sir.
“Triple round” how do you get more round than round 😂😂
Skipped through to hear the vid and you got me with the angle change and the call out. Well played.......
Omfg YOU GOT ME WHEN YOU SWITCHED ANGLES AND I WAS TRYING TO HEAR YOU PLAY IT 😂😂😂

I’ve never felt so needing of the sound of a ride cymbal to be played in my life oh gosh
Triple round. Love it!
I'm not even a drummer but I could feel the pain.
Nice job.
Greatest gear review video EVER!!!! ....us drummers gotta stick together!
I don't know anything about symbols but now I have the confidence to play 10 at once. Thank you.
Edit: Cymbal. See what I mean?
This video deserves a lot more attention.
Had to revisit this video to make sure it was still chalky and ethereal
If it's not a quadruple round, forget it.
Cymbal descriptions sound a lot like wine tasting notes...
ITS SO FUCKING ACCURATE DOWN TO THE SIDE-STICK-CYMBAL-HIT THING
This hurts, thank you

So entertaining!
The cutaway at 0:45 is too good!
Deserves an Oscar for method acting.
This is the best video I have seen this week

I'm angry but satisfied as to how accurate this is
I watched it all... Now the only thing I DEMAND is ''Every cymbal demo ever- With drums/David Dockery''
Gogo, you can do it!
Holy shit I was waiting for you to start playing without even hitting the ride lmfao
That was incredible
Marvellous.... that was just fantastic
This made my blood boil. Well done.
A cymbal of peace...
spot on with the snare part.
Man, you played trough that ting like nobody I’ve ever heard.
This is so accurate. I love it!
You forgot the most crucial part to every cymbal review. The camera fade outs between sound tests.
Man i loved this
Well done, sir!!! WELL DONE!
1/10 you forgot to spend 2 minutes telling us what the rest of your kit is because that's directly relevant to the cymbal
This hurt me in a manner I don't think I've ever experienced before yet I remember all too well
"Really briefly but for a very long time" xD
