- This video shows all Cuphead Bosses that have a secret phase, both in the base game and "A Delicious Last Course" DLC. This includes The Root Pack, Djimmi the Great, Sally Stageplay and The Howling Aces. There's also a secret Devil and Angel Boss fight that can be unlocked at the tombstones on isle IV.
Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.

The secret phase of Doggone fight looks easier than the normal fight where the screen rotates 90° while they throw you plates and lasers. Only problem if you gotta do enough damage to each dog to turn their gases gray and be patient.
Honestly that’s my main problem with the fight, they completely changed how your character moves when the you get rotated. They established in the base game that when you get flipped your left and right movement still stays the same, but for some reason it’s the exact opposite in the dlc, which messed a lot of people up. I wish they could have kept it consistent
@carterdelaney4648 Theres a setting in pause menu in that fight that changes the controls for when your upside down.
this game is an absolute caramel for the eyes, the animation is so good.
It’s ok but I never liked the fuzziness.

I find it strange and concerning how the husband isn’t there in the bow, sure he’s probably just behind stage to make it more dramatic, but I wonder if you actually kill him in the secret boss
You drop an entire chandelier on him… we might have actually murdered this random guy for no reason. Like he wasn’t even part of the contract.
I think you do really kill him, the altar falls on him and the cardboard Zeus thing is a prop instead of a magic other form.

it would be a good secret phase to be able to anger the angel with a boomerang shot

Actually shots deflect off the angel and would hit the devil so pretty much the angel is immune to all the attack damage
@@clownylol actually if you use crack shot ex it might have a chance to hit the angel if your close enough but the shot just breaks so the angels immortal to guns

I accidentally got the secret phase on the dog fight boss on my second try without knowing it existed. My brother was all like "WhAt DiD yOu Do?!" I was dumbfounded because I didn't know how I got it at the time. My brother then looked it up and it was because of the color of the smoke. I was using spreadshot and somehow dealt just enough damage.

Same for me last night! On my 2nd try too. I thought it was random and was just unlucky to not see it again eventhough I beat the boss a few attempts after. So much easier than the upside down phase.

Fun Fact: Did you know that if you hold down the shoulder buttons in front of the Mausoleums, The Gravestone, or Saltbaker’s Bakery. You can replay those levels or for the Bakery you can rewatch the Cutscene?
What are the shoulders buttons?
@@ZeroKasa bumpers or triggers. But you have to hold them down with two fingers and then press the interaction button while the triggers are held down. Took me a bit to figure this out the other day

Anyone else notice that the big dog at the start of The Howling Aces boss has bone tattoos on both of his arms, but whenever he’s in the plane you only see the one on his left arm? Or how the secret phase looks easier then the original?

You can kinda see the raised pixels for the other tattoo in a few frames of animation. Bringing the tattoo forward would've been better for consistency
The secret phase is easier than the real mission, it’s just harder to trigger.

It’s hard to trigger. Dealing enough damage to simply turn the exhaust grey whilst keeping the dogs alive is harder than it sounds.

I did djimmi’s on accident once and got so confused. Then I saw the question mark and realized what I did. I had triggered root pack before
When you get that guy in the background crushed, sally will teleport to the site where the guy was crushed and sally will start crying.
So did Sally's husband die or was his death staged just to show how her life would be without him? We still see him in the good ending.
My hypothesis is that it is staged since the angels were there from the start and they had all the things ready

Part of me would've liked it if all the bosses has a secret boss route if you complete certain criterias.
Like with Ribby and Croaks. Imagine that if, during the second phase, if you attack the shorter frog, I think it's Ribby, instead of having Croaks swallow Ribby, causing them to turn into a frog-themed slot machine, both Ribby and Croaks come together to perform a fusion dance, turning them into a four-armed frog martial artist.
Or in the Cala Maria fight, instead of shooting bullets into her during the second phase, you instead fire the bombs. This would cause her head to explode, but her octopus hair would land on her body, causing rhe octopus to take over and finish the fight.
Just to name a couple of examples.

No you have to hit all of them just the right amount until they all have gray smoke coming out of their jetpack.
On the Angel and Devil secret fight, the Devil faces you, whereas the Angel is behind you. This shows that angels have your back, whereas you need to fight the devils head on.
0:20 once the onion has looked left and right five times you can deal damage that will carry on to the next phase but the onion will not cry
