- We are pleased to welcome Alvaro Lillo to Iblis Manifestations!
He is best known as the live bass player of the Swedish Black Metal band WATAIN, ever since their Sworn to the Dark era in 2007. He is also the vocalist and bass player in Xalpen, Undercroft and Execrator, as well as they main man behind Kako Daimon.
Watain are currently touring Europe alongside Abbath, Tribulation and Bolzer as a part of the Chariots of Fire tour.

I remember Alvaro when he joined fresh in 2010 and played in Boston. I think this was before set teitan replaced him. What a great interview with an underrepresented and infamous musician. 218
Thank you - although I believe that Alvaro joined in 2007, by which point Set was already in the band.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that Set was initially the live bass player when they were a 4-piece and then he switched to guitars around when A joined, which made the iconic live line-up of Sworn-Lawless era and some of Wild Hunt.
Agreed on the latter, which is why I wanted to do this interview!

Yes, you're right. It was 2007. Set was guitar prior, but, A Joined to play guitar during 07...This show Eric played bass and vocals I was referring to . I played with them in 2006, and 2007/2008. Lawless darkness they came to the states and 3rd guitar player was Selim Lemuchi which was fantastic. In other countries the line up you refer to was this.... but eventually SET was barred from the states. Again, thank you for The great interview

btw, i'm wondering if Alvaro (and you) have read any of Graham Hancock's books about ancient civilizations. He also has a great new docu on netflix. Great to hear you two talk about this topic.
I am well-acquainted with Graham's work. He gets a bad rep for how he goes after archeologists, but I think that his theories are worth at least some kind of recognition and investigation, so it's good to see that there's more of that happening.
