    I just bought this device two hours ago and now learning all there is to learn on the features. So thank you very much for this video. The features I REALLY like and did not get mentioned as a positive are the following :
    1) Thanks to this video, I know now that they designed the device as such that you don't forget to lock the self leveler pendulum by making it an integral part of the on/off switch. Because for sure I would forget to block the pendulum and then brake the thing by transporting it. I was a bit worried about that.
    2) A feature that made me buy this model is that it comes with an rechargeable battery, but ALSO a device that will take 4 AA batteries. This means that even if I have an issue with the battery, I can still use the device with AA batteries, until I can get a replacement.
    3) The battery can be charged with a USB-C cable, so I don't have to panic if I lose the charging cable, as I have about 4 or 5 of those already for my cell-phone and other small electric devices.
    4) The horizontal lines on top and on the bottom. I went back and forth if I could spare one, because it is about 50 euros cheaper. But decided that I will be doing sealings and crown molding on the sealings, so I will be needing a top laser to get the laser exactly where I want it. But then I also will be installing floors, so I guess I need a horizontal laser that can be as low as possible as well. Hence I bought this model.
    5) The remote control is made such that you can hang it on a carabiner and attach it to your toolbelt or pants. Because otherwise FOR SURE it would last me a day before losing it.
    6) The wall bracket I should be getting with it, according to their webshop is the one where the laser sits on and is not suspended as shown in your video. I have seen a lot of videos raving about that wallbracket, that it was not an option to go for a model that had another model of bracket with it. So now I will have to wait and see, what will come in my box.
    7) The fact that you can buy a really sturdy tripod, that even has a feature to weigh the tripod down for extra sturdiness. And they also have a very nifty pole option (to be mounted between floor and ceiling for mounting the laser level. But I'll buy that once I have ceilings. 🙂 That might take a while.
    8) The fact that if you have to change the battery, you don't need to dismount the device from the bracket because their is enough space underneath it.
    All the other things you have mentioned, the sturdiness of the device, the fact you can service the device yourself if it will go out of allignement, the fact that the box is sturdy and well patted, the fact that the green target thingy has a magnet (mind blown), the fact you can use the device with the USB C charge cable plugged into the device, that you can use the device on self leveling mode or manual mode for staircases. All and all, I didn't know the brand, but I am very impressed how well this device has been thought out. Really clever designs, in the tool as well as the accessories that come with it.
    I am always very motivated to buy quality products and brands on second hand websites. But after learning how delicate these laser levels are, I decided against buying a used Dewalt or Milwaukee laser level. Because you never know what happened to those devices and why they are being sold. And I wouldn't know how to go about and test such a device before paying for it. I also ordered from the Huepar website as I am not always sure how the Amazones of this world are treating the boxes while preparing them for shipping. That I got a 15% discount, was a happy coincidence. Today I am EXTREMELY happy after 3 weeks of research, that I finally bit the bullet and went for the Huepar SO4CG. This reply became lengthy. But reading the comments under videos like yours made my search, that more effective and I like to contribute to anyone searching for their ideal laser level. Thanks again for confirming I did make a good purchase.

    Is it possible to unscrew the mount for to install a slimmer plate, in order to have the beam closer to the ground ?

    I bought one of these ( UK) and it arrived today. While the laser itself is great, they have changed the large adjustable mount that now has a micro adjustable feature so it can be moved closer to the wall etc when mounted. However there is far too play in all of the adjusters making it unusable.

    Здравствуйте. Вы забыли упоминуть, что этот нивелир может работать с приёмником на большее растояние при ярком освещении. Только нужно докупить приёмник.
    Ещё одна особенность - внутри металлический каркас, на котором закреплён маятник. К примеру, в более дорогом нивелире от Kapro, каркас пластиковый.

    Hi -- do you know what advantage the 4 laser models provide over the 3-plane lasers? I'm trying to understand what purposes / use cases one would need both of the horizontal lasers on at the same time? Otherwise, one with 3 lasers you can just adjust up or down for height, right?

    • @brashair7652
      @brashair7652  2 роки тому +7

      Hi there, and thanks for watching my video. It is not absolutely necessary to have the 4th horizontal laser on the bottom because it shares the same pendulum and 2-axis gimbal with the upper horizontal laser line. Also, do not confuse these 4D lasers with much pricier dual-slope laser levels used for checking compound grades like in road construction. Anyway, for just a little bit more money, I have found there are times when having the lower horizontal laser is needed for projecting laser lines closer to the floor. For example, I was recently doing a tile job in a shower and set the laser level on the shower curb to project a laser line to start my first row of tiles, but it would have been too high for me to use the upper horizontal laser. If you are using your laser level for tile work, the lower laser allows you to start the first row of wall tiles right from the floor while keeping the tops of the tiles level to the laser line, and using shims where the tiles meet the floor. This is good because you don’t have to use a ledger board or make holes in your shower liner.

      @@brashair7652 Thanks for the reply. I assume then any 3D lasers which have the horizontal laser on the top (versus the bottom) may have this same issue (not being low enough for some floor work)? My other question is whether the included micro adjusting accessory works with a tripod? Can it be microadjusted while on tripod?

    • @brashair7652
      @brashair7652  2 роки тому

      Thanks for bringing up the issue of the micro-adjuster accessory. I was really excited about it, but after I did the review I noticed that I was unable to use the micro adjuster with either a camera tripod or the Huepar tripod which does have its own micro adjuster, but that one only moves up or down. The only way to use the micro-adjuster is to attach its magnetic base to a ferrous metal object. There is a metal plate included which you could attach to a 2x4 and use it that way if there is no metal around for the magnets to stick to. Also, it could be used on the corner moulding in a room that has drywall, but I found that the magnets didn't seem strong enough to grab the metal corner through drywall tape and compound, and I was afraid that the micro-adjuster would fall off the wall and damage the laser level. This is definitely an area of improvement Huepar should make and could be done quite easily by adding a steel "L" bracket with a 1/4" 20 threaded insert that could easily mount on top of a camera tripod. Hey, I think you've just given me an idea for another DIY video! ;-). Anyway, I checked the Huepar website and they do sell another micro-adjust adapter that will fit to a tripod and also has a base that sits on the floor. It sells for just under $40 US.

    Because of the direction of the pendulum or the inside i’m assuming if you hang It from the side it will not self level. Have you tried Hanging it from that adjustment bracket any other direction then vertical?

    • @brashair7652
      @brashair7652  2 роки тому +4

      Hello Steffen and thanks for watching my video. You are correct that hanging the laser level from the side would not allow the pendulum to swing freely and therefore not level automatically. You could however, lock the pendulum with the switch and still be able to project the laser at a fixed angle, based on how you attach it to your tripod. I've never had the need to hang it from either of the side laser caps and figured Huepar just decided to use the same caps on all the laser heads to reduce part number count.

      @@Chequr_Prostate I have the Huepar B03CG Pro 3x360 Laser I also have a Bosch laser and have had a DeWalt. Price point was obviously something that motivated me to try their products out. For a 3 x 360 Dewalt laser you’re going to spend around $400. The Dewalt is a little more rigid but the Huepar is actually very well-built and it can be easily calibrated without having to send it off. After using the Huepar for a little over a year now I would not spend the extra money on a DeWalt The Huepar is a professional grade laser that’s actually all they make is lasers and they offer a lot more models and options than the bigger names. I’ve been in the construction business for 22 years.The BO3CG Pro will run you about 150 bucks Which is an excellent price for this type of laser.

    Like can I turn the detector on its side and say mark a building for square on the ground

    • @brashair7652
      @brashair7652  2 роки тому

      Hello Ace. Yes, you can use it for checking square of a building, but no need to turn it on its side as the two vertical laser plumb lines project in 360 degrees to create an intersecting plane at the floor (and ceiling) allowing you to mark out a perfect square on the ground when using with or without a tripod. Just set up the laser level at one corner with the vertical lines pointed 90 degrees towards the two perpendicular corners, measure out the distance you want, and then mark those corners. The last (opposite) corner can then easily be determined by moving the laser level to one of the corners you just marked and lining up one vertical laser between that corner and the first corner, and following the second vertical laser to where you want the last corner, and it will be square. Sorry if this sounds confusing, but try it out and you will see it is actually quite simple and easy to do.

    Hello, S04CG-LC vs S04CG-C vs 904DG? Which is better?

    • @brashair7652
      @brashair7652  2 роки тому +2

      Hello stefansk8, I‘ve bought two of the S04GG-C and one of the S03CG laser levels. The S04CG-LC is probably just fine for occasional DIY projects, but I was looking for more durability. I believe Huepar uses better quality material in the S04CG-C, especially the laser protective covers which I believe are a metal casting compared to the green plastic covers on the S04CG-LC. It also has the lighted display which is very convenient and provides readout of degrees of tilt. One other thing it has is Bluetooth connection for remote operation, but frankly that is something I haven’t needed yet.
      Each of these lasers you are comparing use the same laser technology, have the same accuracy and the lasers are all class 2 with power output of 1mW. The only difference I could see is that the internal dimension of the case on the 904CG must be slightly larger as it allows an additional 1/2 degree of pendulum tilt. Both the S04CG-LC and 904DG will accomplish the same functions, and at similar price, it is a matter of choosing one with the accessories you think you will most likely use. For me, my first choice would be the S04CG-C if using daily on a work site, and I really like the hard case. If only occasional use, my second choice would be the 904CG and then the S04CG-LC as third choice, mostly because the S04CG-LC has that wobbly lifting base which I am not a fan of and would never use.

      Hello Ilirjan. Thanks for watching my review. I am not aware of the ability to recalibrate the pendulum by pressing the V button as that sounds more like a software reset and would not really be adjusting anything, especially considering the pendulum is mechanical. There is nothing in the manual regarding this, but there is also no mention of how to adjust the laser adjustment set screws under the laser protective lens covers either. Nevertheless, I have contacted Huepar’s technical department to get their response and will post that information after I receive it. I may just have to make another video on how to calibrate the Huepar laser levels once I have more information from Huepar.

      Hello again Ilirjan. I contacted Huepar about doing a long-press on the "V" button and they responded that this will not calibrate the laser level. However, I was not completely satisfied with that answer and did some more checking on my own and found that pressing the V button will zero out the X and Y axes, but it won't recalibrate it. In fact, you might actually make the calibration worse by doing this. Since I was concerned others might watch the Ukrainian video and try to calibrate that way, I figured I should make a new video on just this topic. I just posted the video and here is the link to it: ua-cam.com/video/i50ddqnHW_o/v-deo.html

      The pendulum is a passive physical thing and cannot be adjusted by an electronic button. The button only affects the digital level reading which tells it when to beep if tilted too far for the pendulum to self level. If you zero it out when it is not level, you will throw off this feature and potentially think the pendulum is level when it has in fact tilted into its bumper.
