    A journey along the East Coast Mainline from London King's Cross to Newcastle and back, via Peterborough, Doncaster, York, Darlington & Durham.
    This is a composite video, including clips filmed at various points across the last year. Apologies for any continuity errors this may throw up!

    "Azuma" means "East" in classical Japanese. Coincidence?

      @@DavidFrankalTa. I wonder if Hitachi will give HS2 trains similar sounding names. The train leaving platform 2 is the Tobihitsuji (flying sheep) to Edinburgh, etc.

      Could happen, but it was Virgin Trains East Coast who branded them 'Azuma', not Hitachi!

    The LNER Class 800 and Class 801 Azumas are fantastic trains. Plus Hitachi are to manufacture the Class 803 for East Coast Trains that will operate on the London Kings Cross-Edinburgh Waverley route but will have less stops which will be more direct.
