Your ability to remain objective in a tsunami of conflicting information and being able to consistently raise up all the known conflicts to each guest, is second to none. I certainly have learned to question everything that every "qualified expert" has ever said either on or off-line.

      for Dr. Elizabeth Bright: What if you are taking Armour Thyoid, can you STILL add LUGOS IODINE and how much. ANOTHER thing: Did you know that Pf!zer has been making RENNET in their LABS and that you can't find any cheese in the USA that hasn't been replaced with what's called VEGETABLE Rennet instead of ANIMAL RENNET The fact that this corporation is tampering with our dairy could be the reason why so many have allergies to it. And if you go on a Carnivore diet, what are the oxalate loads in that vegetable rennet that was made in a lab? Something to think about.

      This was a good interview; so many of us need this mineral (mineral?). I've subbed, and look forward to seeing more informative guests. So I'm a 2 time Cancer survivor and used a Nutritional Keto lifestyle with the chemo treatment and bone marrow transplant to help me recover super fast, deal with the side affects and put my Multiple Myeloma into remission, this was 5 years ago! Iodine was a key component as I am from South Africa where Iodine isn't in our diet at all.
    I became so passionate about the food part that I decided to study nutrition to help other Cancer patients. Dr. Bright is such an inspiration and I used most of what she has brought up in this interview even on my own patients over the last 5 years.

      My ex mother-in- law who lives on a really bad processed diet and ate at least six times a day came down with bladder cancer which spread to her reproductive organs and her lymph nodes, they said it was metastasized. Anyway they did a 10-hour surgery and removed her bladder and reproductive organs and a couple lymph nodes. I took care of her for a couple weeks in my home after surgery and showed her how to use her ostomy bag. Anyway she went home and they started chemo, when she was with me I could get her to eat maybe 400 calories a day maximum. As soon as she started chemo she completely could not eat for three whole months, she only lasted for two treatments and knew she wouldn't survive it so she stopped, she fasted for 3 months and to her great surprise she went in and had a scan and they said they see no cancer anywhere, that doesn't mean there aren't cells ready to grow if she eats the wrong things but we all have that. Fasting is amazing, I just saw a documentary on UA-cam about it yesterday. Fasting heels everything. I fasted both times I had covid and didn't take any medicine, within 5 days I had zero symptoms. Good luck to you! 🩷

She did not know that the Black Belt cows had A2 milk - she was just convinced that i could not tolerate homogenized milk. If the milk came directly from the dairy was it raw (unpasteurised) as that, along with A2 protein, makes a big difference to its digestability.
      Raw milk contains lactase which helps our bodies digest lactose, but lactase is destroyed in pasteurisation.

    She certainly knows more than me, but I just can't agree with her dislike of fasting. I've done intermittent fasting for about 3 years. I don't eat until 2 or 3 pm, and I eat again around 7. If I ate fat in the morning as she suggested, I know my body and I would be starving in a few hours after eating in the morning. What I like about fasting is the autophagy that takes place. I don't fast long enough to get into a good autophagy, but at least I'm getting some. I wish I could fast 24 hrs at least one day a week, but my body just fights me on that. If I wanted to be miserable I could do it, but I don't want to put myself through that.

    • @PanSearedRibeye68
      @PanSearedRibeye68 14 днів тому +17

      She eats butter in the morning which does not break your fast. Then she eats a steak at lunch. So she’s technically doing intermittent fasting even though she’s eating butter. Butter will not spike your insulin which means you’re still in a fasted state.

    • @AveMaria33777
      @AveMaria33777 13 днів тому +13

      I agree. I do Omad and I finally have a great apetite. If I eat twice per day, heart burn and digestive issues come back and apetite isn't there. But I did start to notice hunger pangs throughout the day recently. So I'm following her advice for that, I'm doing the fatty coffee in the morning with 2 tbsp of butter. I feel better. My extremities are warmer. I feel less anxious. More stable. She's partially right on that. You need fat for hormone production and to keep cortisol down.

    •  13 днів тому +8

      If your body fights you on it its because it doesn't want it.
      Listen to the body instead of doing what your mind thinks is the best thing.
      How would you know that it would be beneficial if it was that hard to do?

    • @lyns2686
      @lyns2686 13 днів тому +6

      Good point. Though autophagy works best after at least 24 hrs of not eating, my body fights going that long, I need to just listen to my body. I can easily not eat until 2 or 3 pm every day and sometimes 4 or 5 pm, and my body is fine with that. I'll stick with that instead of trying to go a lot longer (which I haven't done because it's too hard). She talked about fasting putting stress on your body. The intermittent fasting I've done for a few years doesn't bother me at all, but trying to fast longer is definitely stressing my body, so I'm going to stop that. The good thing about the fasting I do is that while I always check the carbs on food, I never check the calories like I used to. I don't gain any weight.

And my T3 is in the bottom of the range. Hearing Dr Bright has encouraged me to take iodine daily again. Thank you!

      Bart Kay advises against changing your diet to Carnivore without easing into it over several weeks' time. He says you have to give the microbiome time to adjust. It also takes time for people to adapt to running on just fat.

Over the next 3 months, my digestion totally shut down. Turns out meat isn't digested well in a poorly functioning digestive system. It doesn't matter how much fat is added. She is right on the animal fat point. There is a reason that veganism was never a thing in the vegetarian capital of the world, India. Ghee, from healthy cows fed a correct diet, is essential for human health if one is a Hindu-like vegetarian. An entire culture and continent raised this one food item to level of the divine with the backing of states, kingdoms, temples, and Ayurvedic doctors for thousands of years.
    Sadly because of adulteration of foods and destruction of soil health, a healthy vegetarian diet without the aid of supplements is becoming increasingly difficult. Similarly grain fed meats and toxic seafood have their own health problems.

    I have already eliminated 10kg. I am going to work by bycicle early im the morning no matter what weather I have here in Germany. I am taking some vitamins and supplements and eating all I love and lots of proteins, too.
    I feel much better than a year ago, or months ago, have more energy and less tired. I sleep like a rock and I stand up at 5.45. Get ready for a new day and at 9.00 pm. I go to my bed. I also do all my chores home (cleaning, cooking, as any other housekeeper does daily) and I go for shopping by bike too.
    I can tell you that fasting is the best thing for me as I have done it before, and I will continue living like that. It works for me perfectly.

I wish I knew what Dr. Bright viewpoint are on autophagy. this is the only area that I disagree with Dr. Bright is when it comes to intermittent fasting and autophagy as she feels it raises, cortisol too high, which I understand but when we were hunters, we had no choice to intermittently fast when hunting for a kill. My father grew up in the Appalachian Mountains as so did I. But his family were farmers and his mother cooked 3 meals a day.. Had a garden, etc. His mother and father lived to 96 and 97. He just passed away at 95 in 2023. My grandparents never had a vaccination as only went to the doctor if they needed one.. Not monthly. They had chickens, pigs, Cows and a garden. My grandfather ground cornmeal from his corn and the community would bring corn for him to ground for them. My father would not eat chicken because he did some grading work at a chickens farm down the road. He saw who they were fed and how they lived. It truly made a bad impression on him. And have wouldn't eat mushrooms because he saw where there grew too. Cow patties. He died from CLL after he had one flu vaccine and had been bitten by a tic twice. Both times he had the big red bullet mark. He received the antibiotics but he still got CLL. I believe he had the leukemia over the years because he had blood leakage years earlier all from leaky gut. What causes leaky gut? Grains..and oxalate vegetables. He also had his gallbladder removed too. But he drank buttermilk all cornbread. His gut issues arrived after the 70's. We also have O+ blood. Moral of the story.. It's in the walls of your home. Everybody is eating redmond salt without issues for years and years. I think if you're healthy, if you're especially carnivore, the body will not have to spend its time detoxing grains and beans and all that other junk, so the body finally has a chance to focus on other toxins. There are no proteins in vegatables. Cultures? You mean the Chinese and Indian people's? The 2 highest rates of diabetes on the planet. Those people?

      None that ate solely plants though.
      They had some meat and dairy.
      But none that survived without any at all.
      So the difference is ratios, not content.

    what I do not understand is that she states we should not eat sugar, plants and carbs because we would not do so back in the day before our food system was created with abundance. Then she states that we should not fast because it is not healthy but back in the day we would not be able to eat every day all day. So do we connect with our former diet and lifestyle or do we just cherry pick? Just asking. Also when we would hunt it would be a marathon at times because we could not be successful at hunting 100 percent of the time. We actually evolved a very specific mechanism for running long distance which is perspiration.

      Yes, but fasting and marathon sprints were done for survival and not by choice and not on purpose. That is the difference. If you are talking about what is natural, forcing yourself to do those things is unnatural. Eat when you're hungry. You shouldn't have much of an appetite on carnivore anyway.

      Due to our modern lifestyles we would never fast nor run a marathon unless we choose to. Just because we do not have to does not mean that we should not especially since we have only been living in abundance for only a fraction of our historical footprint. If you were on an unsuccessful hunt would you not have to force yourself to run a marathon? If you were unsuccessful for days would that not be considered fasting? We have the biological mechanisms to withstand these stresses. When not used you become soft.

    To compare dairy and heroine is a little crazy. It's in no way a similar addition. Your coffee is much more addictive than dairy and not to mention it raises cortisol/anxiety more than fasting

    People sensitive to dairy should try kefir milk.

    She talks about how we evolved hunting but then goes on to say she doesn’t believe in fasting. However, as I eat a plate of bacon right out of the refrigerator, can I assume our ancestors did not have refrigeration and went days without eating? Apparently we are one of the few species that goes without eating for days.
