Thanks for the sub. The board is pretty good. I'm sure a longboard setup would be better in some ways, but I'm more familiar with popsicle and cruiser board setups, so I went that direction. Eventually I'd like to get an electronic board, but the cost of that option put me off a little and played a key part in deciding to go with foot power. The key to a good film board is the softer wheels(78a durometer) in a larger diameter(60mm on my board). Makes it a lot easier to avoid stop rocks and get a smoother/longer roll.

Teaching my kid to ride a bike. Chose to buy a skateboard to keep up. Haven't skated in 10 yes. No balance. Having fun
Haha! I hear you. I've gotten the balance part back pretty well, but not enough to feel confident trying many tricks while moving yet.
