i actually paid attention to the lyrics & Illuminati hotties is so brilliant bc this whole album seems to be a commentary on parasocial relationships and the nature of social media, consumerism & absurdity lol even their name being "illuminati" is so ironic bc it kind of perpetuates weird internet fads & how everything is so strange? does this even make sense lmao
I mean yeah, it's some 2020s shit for sure. Definitely what caught my attention in this band. It's more than just lyrical themes too... The style, the sounds, the melodies - it's better than ahead of its time, it's right on time. And also very good. I fuckin' love the band name. Although I interpreted it as more of a detached cynicism about the fact that we probably are all being manipulated by a variety of nefarious agendas and secretive powerful people. That's probably my own bias though.
