Very good video, I’ve been really frustrated with the amateur team I play for basically going 442 and trying to man mark all over the park when the ball is lost. It creates so many spaces and yesterday we were picked apart with ease. The ability to squeeze over is so important to any formation, especially 442, the opposite winger and full back need to tuck in as the centre mids move over ball side. It uses so much less energy to defend in a formation rather than chasing players for 90 minutes!

Yeah I see a lot of that at the lower levels!

@@ModernFootballAnalyst it’s so frustrating! Ends up relying on individual pieces of brilliance to win games rather than as a team. Hopefully I can convince the manager to watch your video!

Just a tip, prob shouldn't spend the first 20 seconds of a vid asking for a like/comment/sub. The first 20 seconds are crucial for viewers to stick through to the end. Try a strong hook to keep us watching, then ask for like/comment/sub later.

    Nice explanation
A model with forwards pressing in-out using 6 as cover shadow and an narrow 2° block (as used by Napoli and Wolfsburg) could be pointed, too

Very good video. I'm using a very similar approach with my team but I'm dealing with some problems with failing pressing. Once we fail to steal the ball or kill the play, the opponent finds spaces in our midfield and searches for players on the opposite side. Your movement of the opposite wide midfielder gave me some ideas. Thanks. Subscribed already!

Can you do a video on how United would fit Donny VDB into the formation considering Pogba may be leaving?

No formation is better than the other. It all depends on the players that you have under your hands and the commitment of your team to play the system.

What do you do if the opponent team has 2 deep lying midfielders?

Every tactic/coach has a different interpretation but a small shift to a diamond midfield defensively will give you another player around the opponents 6's. Or, you could put more emphasis on your striker partnership utilizing their shadow pressing in covering those options. If you know in advance, create a scheme where you create pressing traps when their 6's find the ball.
