Never thought I'd see an Avensis on a classic car channel. But you know what?
I'm ok with it.
Lovely example of a daily drive classic (The Avensis is now a classic? Christ I am getting old!).
Repairs don't have to be perfect, but these older cars smarten up with a bit of TLC and inexpensive materials. 👍
That’s exactly what we’re going for! Stay tuned for Joe’s cheap and cheerful fixes on the Rover...
I've always liked the Avensis, especially the Mk1. I don't know why so many people slag it off. They moan because it isn't exciting, they moan because it isn't sexy, they moan because it isn't fast. That's like moaning because a bungalow isn't a skyscraper. The Avensis was never intended to be any of those things. It was designed as a relaxing, reliable, sensible car and that's exactly what it is.
It's amazing what a bit of time and attention can do to a car. Having the confidence to take it on your self will make you feel a million times more chuffed when you get good results. Top job!
Thanks Will, Jeff’s pleased with it!
Great job! Interestingly in the rich village on the edge of my town, you see quite a few modest cars like this. Yes you get the flash Harrys in their brand new Range Rovers and the like but some wealthy people drive around in cars like this.
A car of it's day, much more interesting than a Vauxhall, Rover or Ford, nice little turnaround.
And way more reliable
My evensis drove really quite poorly until i had all four wheels aligned.much much better after that
That was my dad's first car, i can say it was very nice and powerful car. Unfortunately, we sold it and i really missed it😥
Excellent work!
Excellent work.
This car is a bulletproof i owned 2 ,, 98 and 2001 really reliable little car.
Can't go wrong with a Toyota they are well put together :-)
A nice job. Tidies it up nicely.
I was used driving same car with same engine, but estate . Very smooth driving and comfortable Suspension. 👍👍👍👍👍
Great job
For not much time and or investment, looks really good!
Nice job, looks to be in good order underneath 😀
Grand job, just like many of us would do athome, though possibly without the luxury of a garage.
Although it would’ve taken a few hours, it must be satisfying to take a step back and see the transformation from a couple of simple(ish!) fixes.
For sure, and it’s relatively cheap and easy to do!
Nice repair.
Man I need the tutorial on how to remove the headlight, would you mind posting it?
can you sleep / camper in this car ? we have exactly similar one ane I like to know if you can fit inside (at least little bit) I have 185 cm, in Toyota Camry you can do it
Thats some TASTY WORK there
Looking a lot better after those fixes!
the t 22 avensis is now a classic, the t22 can be considered the last generation of the toyota corona (is some markets it was called "avensis"). I have had one with 45k KMs (not miles) since 2000 ..I guess it will last for another 20 years at least
Actually, for a few cheap fixes and a bit of labour it's actually looking quite respectable! If only you could make it handle like a contemporary Nissan Primera...
You really should wear eye protection even when using a rattle can. My friend lost his sight in one eye spraying . Good video
What a transformation. Just the air con to go & it will be a little gem for someone.
It’s amazing what some elbow grease will do, isn’t it?
Quite a marked improvement to be fair!
It's amazing how much difference something quite small, like tidying up the bumper plastic, can brighten up the looks of a car...
Good improvements, but of course TECHNICALLY the new tyres should go on the back, especially if the rears are as questionable as the old fronts... get them checked, used up and replaced...
It has a decent set of Michelins on the back thankfully.
@@jeffruggles1068 I’ll check out the other videos on this car... looks like a nice survivor.
and it's a liftback too those weren't big sellers
We used to own a babe like that..so sad that we sold it a few years back tho
Vous aviez des pièces de rechange , je suis au congo RDC
You still got this car? I have a beautiful 2000 reg with 35k on the clock. 1 owner and 22 Toyota Service Stamps !
😊
You still got it? Interested in selling it?
