Fragments- Kitchen lithograph print transformation

Do you ever start something without much thought and get totally carried away?
That's what happened here. It started with a quick sketch looking in the mirror. I was intending it to be an experiment in mark making and not become a finished artwork. But as I added more and more layers, the image started to get a life of its own that deserved a proper conclusion. All the layers of ink are built up to give a rich, full finish. For something initially intended to be discarded, I really love the result.
