Am I the only one who thinks sunny's friends rejecting him would have been enough to make him want to kill himself? Meaning Sunny being happy would make no sense? No way in hell is just telling the truth enough for him not to just give up.
@@Dexuz Bruh I don't care whether or not it implies that, I'm talking about what makes sense. The dude kills himself just from giving up, clearly the whole crux of why he WON'T tell, is because he's worried he'll lose his friends. So this vid is telling me that, if he lost his friends, he'd just be able to be cool with that? No. That makes no sense. All the more reason why I think his friends did forgive him, and that's what I think the secret post credits scene implies in the first place, because if it doesn't imply that, then what the fuck is the point of that scene? There isn't any other point that we didn't know or couldn't have caught on to already, clearly it was made as a reward to the player for the extra work they put in to show that "yes, they forgave him, everything's cool" I HIGHLY doubt, that Sunny's SOMETHING would just vanish if they didn't forgive him, SOMETHING is Sunny's trauma and guilt over Mari's death personified, and you're telling me if his friends didn't forgive him over her death, that SOMETHING would just leave? That it wouldn't just add fuel to the fire? Sorry, I can't believe that.
Sunny doesnt kill himself though, OMORI does. Who we *know* has gotten out of control! And its likely they'd be upset, too, and run off. They loved Mari and spent 4 years thinking she had something wrong with her that they failed to notice. You'd be rightfully mad if say, someone you know died and you thought they killed themselves but it turned out someone else killed them. And also, Basil didn't leave, did he? One of sunny's fears is losing basil as well but he's happy! He's relieved! Sunny will be okay and wont kill himself in the end.
@@DeltaBlazin I recommend you to read the dialogue of the final battle, it's the one moment where Sunny's doubts are blatantly shown and stated, by Omori. So what does Omori says? - They'll never forgive you, it would be better to just die. - You'll just make it worse. So if they don't forgive him on the spot he kills himself? No, because that's now what Omori is saying, what must be understood is that Omori is wrong, regardless of what happens we only know for sure that what Omori claims cannot happen, in other words, what can happen are the negation of his word. What's the negation of "they'll never forgive you"? It's *not* "they will forgive you", rather, it's "they could forgive you". Same for the "you'll make it worse", the game is very clear that, again, Sunny must say the truth to progress in his life, else he would end up dying anyways or controlled by Omori (effectively dying as well), so would he make it worse? No. That's why the ending is up to interpretation, it had to be that way because that's the message of the game, that it doesn't matter what happens so long as he forgives himself.
@@DeltaBlazinFirst of all, sunny is able to tell the truth because HE FACED OMORI (representation of his guilt, fears and self-hatred), which was the impediment to telling the truth and freeing himself, That's what that fight represents and that's why he tells the truth afterwards and even if they don't forgive him he can move on, if you didn't understand that directly play omori again 😭
It's cool to see this, but I want to point out how important to the story and message it was, that this conversation was not included in the game. Sunnys story is not about getting forgiveness from his friends or making everything good again. It's about facing the truth and overcome trauma. And this is what really counts. The reactions of his friend doesnt matter in this context.
Something that hasn't been done in any fan work (that I've seen) is Snuuy talking to his friends about everything that happened to him. Within the span of three days his malnourished ass had to: Get jumpscared by his subconscious constantly while dreaming, hallucinate shit in his empty house 24/7, only remember that Mari was dead after he left the house, then realize that he was the one that killed her and help cover up her death, struggle through the hellish depths of his inner mind, fight the manifestation of his trauma, get his eye stabbed out by his best friend, and fight a piano man that personifies his self hatred. Edit: Love the animation by the way, Super Kewl!
adding this in, it’s kind of upsetting how people villainized sunny, it was purely accidental, and mind you he wasn’t the one to even come up with the idea of covering it up (mind you i’m not pinning it onto basil either) but he was a literal kid and losing your sister in such a traumatic way can cause severe issues to psyche, especially when he loved her so much, it was always said he had feelings on inadequacy compared to the group and mari’s perfectionism was the catalyst for the argument, so it makes full sense why it took him this long to come to terms and process it, and it did… it was confirmed canon that he pushed her out of the way to get to his room but the only reason she fell is because of her bad knee, as for their reactions i think they all need time to process, i think they’d be in shock and i think they’d be a bit resentful towards not just sunny but basil too… but once they process it they can move on, i think they’d be more upset knowing they didn’t know the full truth from the beginning. i also believe they truly love sunny just as much as they do mari. they’d be the first to understand it’s accidental. but anyway… i don’t a lot of comments about hero are so off because he would know full well what mari would want for Sunny
It wasn’t mari’s perfectionism that was the catalyst of their argument it was the fact that sunny broke the violin on the day of the recital they were practicing for. It was purely accidental but sunny himself understands that he made a mistake/did horrible things
I think something you all aren't realising is that it's been 4 years. If this happened a few month or even a year after everything yeah i'd see everyone not forgiving Sunny and shutting him out. But it's been 4 years, 4 years where they all blamed themselves thinking they should have seen it and should have helped Mari. 4 years where they thought it was THEIR fault Mari killed herself. And now Sunny is saying that it's an accident, that she was never suicidal, that the only one who failed anyone was Sunny, and even then Sunny was TWELVE. I could see Aubrey reacting in anger to Sunny telling the truth, but what's more likely I feel is that they'd understand that: 1-They never failed Mari 2-Sunny killed Mari 3-Sunny lived for 4 years, alone, with the guilt of having killed his sister 4-Basil lived for 4 years, alone, with the picture of one of his friend hanging from a tree burned in his mind Sure, they'd be shocked, but i'm pretty sure once the shock pass they'd try to comfort Sunny, they all know accidents happen (especially Aubrey) and they have Basil confirming that it was an accident. I at least don't think they'd consider Sunny murdered his sister.
i feel like aubrey would probably understand sunny’s situation more, even if she doesn’t forgive him at first. she could have been in sunny’s place if hero wasn’t there when she pushed basil into the lake. kel and hero’s response would be more complicated, considering that the way kel got “over” mari’s death was by repressing a lot of the feelings and distracting himself. after learning the truth, i think a lot of those feelings would come out. hero is a different situation, because he is older but he held mari in a different regard than the kids, he loved her romantically. i do think they would forgive sunny and basil at one point, but it would still take a while, considering that they thought mari’s death was in an entirely different context than it actually was for 4 years. i did enjoy this a lot because i think it’s pretty accurate to how they would initially react!
And the thing here is- is that he hasn't been lying to anyone. Besides the fact that he's shut himself away for 4 years with no human contact (besides his ma), so he couldn't have lied to anyone, because he didn't even talk to them- It's obvious that Sunny had some form of amnesia from all the overwhelming guilt and stress and everything. That's the main point of the game. He was so deep in his grief, having been stuck on stage 1: denial for 4 whole years, we had to recover his memories. Goddamnit this game is so depressing
@@mellowedeyethey really are doing you dirty because "[telling the truth] was scary as heck" is how I'd translate it and not as "[Hero] was a terrible ass" lol.
Is this really your first animation? I'm starting to think that you're lying, because THIS ANIMATION IS INCREDIBLE!! Maybe the ending was a little bit too much in the style of "and they all lived happily ever after", but it's still really good. Keep it up!👏
Aww, thank you so much! ^w^ Perhaps it looks decent because I made it by coding a program that's supposed to appear similar to OMORI. I'm more of a coder than animator, hehe. And about the ending, not only is this my first animation, but the scene is from my first fanfic, so no wonder it's not so great, heh. Practice makes perfect! :D
This was the best fan animation i have seen. Provides a spine, chilling, storyline, and a nice wholesome, ending between sunny and basil. I truly enjoyed every moment of watching it.
I just finished the game last night and ofc I searched for the rest of the endings and I happen to catch your video. I think this is pretty much how I imagine the aftermath would go and you captured it really well! While Basil being like :D after Sunny told him he finally let out the truth was pretty funny, I still think you captured their relief after keeping it in for so long was well done. Thanks for this!
I honestly love how you did every little detail in this animation/code,the references, and the way Sunny "banged the floor" while he cried, and the reaction of them was also pretty accurate to the lore, the reference to the *_"Everything is going to be okay"_* part,EVERYTHING,it was amazing!,expacting more of this! :D
I think kel will have hero's reaction sense he took long to accept the fact that she died so when he knows the way she actually left will break him and he will just shut off, and hero will actually be relieved that she didn't choose to kill herself and that he isn't the reason she is gone, and will understand sunny and know how much he was going through and will hug and comfort him
The choice of the music is really good, having "SOMETHING" playing in the background while he tell the hurtful truth, showing that his friends won't easily forgive him
For some reason I have the headcanon that the first to lash out at Sunny, more than Hero or Aubrey (as most people think) would be Kel. He's always trying to remain positive, keep the group together... Finding out that everything that happened had an actual unpunished culprit would tear him to shreds. And being the most invested into sports out of all the characters? Yeah, he'd serve Sunny a hot and tasty knee strike to the forehead.
he most definitely would not hit😭 i don’t think any of them would get physical, that was his sister, and itd take time for them to process but i think they’d be more upset at the fact of not knowing
In my head I picture Sunny looking down at the floor, reciting the truth is a sunken, shaky voice as he forces the words out, hesitating but pushing to the point beyond return where the truth was already said No exclamations, no time for excuses. Sunny tells them how things went with little mentions of "I didn't think about what I was doing". His friends force him to confirm all he said. He forces himself and... The OMORI Rhytm dies there No angry Aubrey, emotional Hero or Kel jumping in They stand there in shock, the "You did what?" Line sinking in
This is amazing. It’s just what I needed to cry again. I do feel like Sunny wouldn’t be so articulate, given that he hasn’t talked in 4 years, and these are really complex things to try to explain. I’m also surprised that Basil wasn’t freaking out the whole time, and that Sunny didn’t even consider that telling the truth also uncovered what Basil had done. I would have expected Sunny to not have changed so much, and still have the same problems with expressions (facial and otherwise), and that the primary emotion wouldn’t be relief. Still, I’m so glad for this. I need any kind of closure on what happened, and seeing Basil and Sunny make up was really nice. :)
I personally think that Aubrey would try to hit him, Kel would stop her, (while still being in shock) and Aubrey would run away. Hero.. He would just start crying and would run out of the hospital, and Kel would stare at Sunny, also crying for some seconds then run after Hero. I think that Kel would think of this as a sick joke or something like that. I also think that Basil would wake up and start helping Sunny to explain what happened.
I love this a lot. My only problem is that he says sorry as though he just broke his violin and lied about not. Not like he he murdered his sister. I can totally understand why the crew decided to leave this part out, since it’s definitely tricky. You did a good job though!! As I was watching, all I could imagine was Sunny shouting how much he loved his sister, and how he thought he would go to jail and lose his best friends if he didn’t lie. But that’s just me! I really love your take
@@pajamaramaytim not sure if thats true, the person that made that video just pulled it out of the bin that it was the case, but for all we know, those unused expressions could have been for anything else
If I were one of them I would probably forgive Sunny But it would take me a lot of time to forgive Basil for staging the whole thing instead of calling for help After what Aubrey did to Basil, she would empathize with Sunny The pushing of Mari down the stairs would be understandable, considering Sunny was only *12* , but the fact that Basil chose to frame her death instead of calling for help, like an ambulance, would probably be the part where I feel angered the most.
I think you really caught their personalities with the reactions, Aubrey freaking out, Hero leaving and Kel jus tbeing generally non-confrontational. The truth hurt them all, but it needed to be said.
Basils reaction makes him seem sociopathic ngl I feel like it’d be way more realistic for him to absolutely lose it worrying about them all hating him and Aubrey going back to bullying him
Everyone always also forgets basil convinced himself that sunny wasn't the one to push Mari it was something behind him and it's real to him, it's why he staged it , to protect sunny bcuz no body will believe him. So he would have as much of a reaction to the truth as everyone else , finally coming into terms with his delusions and justification to what he's done. Lol Also the end with them leaving flowers at the stub and the song implies they eventually do forgive him , either way its a start of a new life for him.
I think sunny should use an argument that it was just like 2 days ago, when aubrey nearly killed basil throwing him into the lake. It was an accident too, but there was someone to help him, but with mari, the wasn't anything that could safe her after she fell. So aubrey knows the best how hard emotions can create a disaster and how this situation was looking.
ik this isnt canon to the animation but everytime i rewatch this i like to imagine sunny going insane at the end and just hallucinating that hes talking to basil to comfort himself

Да, особенно учитывая, то, как Aubrey отреагировала на то что Basil закрасил фотографии в альбоме, она вполне могла отправить Sunny сразу из больницы в морг
Am I the only one who thinks sunny's friends rejecting him would have been enough to make him want to kill himself? Meaning Sunny being happy would make no sense? No way in hell is just telling the truth enough for him not to just give up.
That's not what the game implies...
@@DeltaBlazin
I recommend you to read the dialogue of the final battle, it's the one moment where Sunny's doubts are blatantly shown and stated, by Omori.
Within the span of three days his malnourished ass had to:
Get jumpscared by his subconscious constantly while dreaming, hallucinate shit in his empty house 24/7, only remember that Mari was dead after he left the house, then realize that he was the one that killed her and help cover up her death, struggle through the hellish depths of his inner mind, fight the manifestation of his trauma, get his eye stabbed out by his best friend, and fight a piano man that personifies his self hatred.
Edit: Love the animation by the way, Super Kewl!
Yup, our boy went through a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed my work! :3
adding this in, it’s kind of upsetting how people villainized sunny, it was purely accidental, and mind you he wasn’t the one to even come up with the idea of covering it up (mind you i’m not pinning it onto basil either) but he was a literal kid and losing your sister in such a traumatic way can cause severe issues to psyche, especially when he loved her so much, it was always said he had feelings on inadequacy compared to the group and mari’s perfectionism was the catalyst for the argument, so it makes full sense why it took him this long to come to terms and process it, and it did… it was confirmed canon that he pushed her out of the way to get to his room but the only reason she fell is because of her bad knee, as for their reactions i think they all need time to process, i think they’d be in shock and i think they’d be a bit resentful towards not just sunny but basil too… but once they process it they can move on, i think they’d be more upset knowing they didn’t know the full truth from the beginning. i also believe they truly love sunny just as much as they do mari. they’d be the first to understand it’s accidental. but anyway… i don’t a lot of comments about hero are so off because he would know full well what mari would want for Sunny
It wasn’t mari’s perfectionism that was the catalyst of their argument it was the fact that sunny broke the violin on the day of the recital they were practicing for. It was purely accidental but sunny himself understands that he made a mistake/did horrible things
Legends say that Hero came back to beat the living shit out of him resulting Sunny to be permanently hospitalized
Every time I think I have fully healed from this game something like this shows up on my feed and it all comes crashing down again
I like the idea of after they forgive him they drown him in stuff animals as “revenge for Mari”

@@Eyes1thatoneguy i meant to say HERO COOKED SUNNY (in a bad way) 😇
i think it wouldve felt more emotional if the screen turned black and sunny said "Everything is okay now" 😔🙏
I think something you all aren't realising is that it's been 4 years.
I could see Aubrey reacting in anger to Sunny telling the truth, but what's more likely I feel is that they'd understand that:
1-They never failed Mari
2-Sunny killed Mari
3-Sunny lived for 4 years, alone, with the guilt of having killed his sister
4-Basil lived for 4 years, alone, with the picture of one of his friend hanging from a tree burned in his mind
Sure, they'd be shocked, but i'm pretty sure once the shock pass they'd try to comfort Sunny, they all know accidents happen (especially Aubrey) and they have Basil confirming that it was an accident. I at least don't think they'd consider Sunny murdered his sister.
I know right! some of these comments are ridiculous.
I thought this was so real that I was tearing up the entire time but then I found out it was fanmade
1:27 What a great idea Basil
Yeah lol
i feel like aubrey would probably understand sunny’s situation more, even if she doesn’t forgive him at first. she could have been in sunny’s place if hero wasn’t there when she pushed basil into the lake. kel and hero’s response would be more complicated, considering that the way kel got “over” mari’s death was by repressing a lot of the feelings and distracting himself. after learning the truth, i think a lot of those feelings would come out. hero is a different situation, because he is older but he held mari in a different regard than the kids, he loved her romantically. i do think they would forgive sunny and basil at one point, but it would still take a while, considering that they thought mari’s death was in an entirely different context than it actually was for 4 years. i did enjoy this a lot because i think it’s pretty accurate to how they would initially react!

And the thing here is- is that he hasn't been lying to anyone. Besides the fact that he's shut himself away for 4 years with no human contact (besides his ma), so he couldn't have lied to anyone, because he didn't even talk to them-
It's obvious that Sunny had some form of amnesia from all the overwhelming guilt and stress and everything. That's the main point of the game. He was so deep in his grief, having been stuck on stage 1: denial for 4 whole years, we had to recover his memories.
Goddamnit this game is so depressing

I think kel will have hero's reaction sense he took long to accept the fact that she died so when he knows the way she actually left will break him and he will just shut off, and hero will actually be relieved that she didn't choose to kill herself and that he isn't the reason she is gone, and will understand sunny and know how much he was going through and will hug and comfort him

Thank you! I hoped that the music would make up for the not-so-great animation, hehe.
Yeah.. just don’t tell the police

I'm glad that you enjoyed my animation! :3
In my head I picture Sunny looking down at the floor, reciting the truth is a sunken, shaky voice as he forces the words out, hesitating but pushing to the point beyond return where the truth was already said
No exclamations, no time for excuses. Sunny tells them how things went with little mentions of "I didn't think about what I was doing".
His friends force him to confirm all he said. He forces himself and... The OMORI Rhytm dies there
No angry Aubrey, emotional Hero or Kel jumping in
They stand there in shock, the "You did what?" Line sinking in
"Now we can move on, right?"
*Prison:*

If I were one of them
I would probably forgive Sunny
But it would take me a lot of time to forgive Basil for staging the whole thing instead of calling for help
After what Aubrey did to Basil, she would empathize with Sunny
The pushing of Mari down the stairs would be understandable, considering Sunny was only *12* , but the fact that Basil chose to frame her death instead of calling for help, like an ambulance, would probably be the part where I feel angered the most.
I think you really caught their personalities with the reactions, Aubrey freaking out, Hero leaving and Kel jus tbeing generally non-confrontational. The truth hurt them all, but it needed to be said.
Hey, I'm happy to hear that, even though that was my first fanfic! :D
Basils reaction makes him seem sociopathic ngl
I feel like it’d be way more realistic for him to absolutely lose it worrying about them all hating him and Aubrey going back to bullying him
Everyone always also forgets basil convinced himself that sunny wasn't the one to push Mari it was something behind him and it's real to him, it's why he staged it , to protect sunny bcuz no body will believe him.
So he would have as much of a reaction to the truth as everyone else , finally coming into terms with his delusions and justification to what he's done. Lol
Also the end with them leaving flowers at the stub and the song implies they eventually do forgive him , either way its a start of a new life for him.

So aubrey knows the best how hard emotions can create a disaster and how this situation was looking.
