What an inspiring podcast! I went home and watched Dr. Jill's film afterward. Equally awesome! You two are a dynamic duo of functional and holistic patient care and are even more amazing for really "seeing" your patients. As always, I have the deepest gratitude for your deep dive and multidimentional research, your amazing patient care, and the fact that you are sharing your knowledge so freely. I hope this is the framework for medicine in the future!
I use a filter, ionization and ozone to kill the airborne mold spores. I runthe ozone machine when I am away from home. I have dehumidifiers to keep down humidity levels and reduce sweating on surfaces. I wash laundry with peroxide (and detergent) added to the wash cycle to kill mold and get rid of any mildew smells, mycotoxins.
@bendybodiespodcast Pretty sure I still have a problem with mold, but it is lessened. Humidity is definitely reduced and the comfort levels increased. Laundry smells better. My circumstances are particularly challenging so the hope is to lessen loads...
This is so incredibly enlightening and helpful thank you both for sharing this information and all the work and research you do in these areas. I am a 48 year old (perimenopausal) woman who has struggled with many undiagnosed issues throughout my life and am currently in the process of trying to find out if I have the triad but as we know within traditional medicine it’s a slow process with multiple specialists that frequently tend to be dismissive of our symptoms as they can come and go. I am so grateful for your podcast and educational content. ❤
I am a Triad (and more) - it’s pretty bad when the Mayo Clinic doesn’t have any doctors (in AZ at least) that treat MCAS “because it IS so complex” 😑 I’m allergic to all anti-allergy meds, too, so I could actually die from this condition. My situation got worse after the birth of my son; horrible edema & hives/welts all over my body for years. Cromolyn is not efficient imo.
Wow. That is terrible. Unfortunately, no treatment works for everyone. Some people find cromolyn effective whereas others do not. Also, if the mast cells are continually being activated, no treatments will work:( What did you think of this episode?
I have mcas but getting proper acknowledgement is a problem. Told a naturopath about my "allergies" (as they are reactive) and she yelled at me saying those weren't allergies because the reactions weren't protein based...My allergist did consider them allergies "of a sort" because how does one define it? Now that I understand I likely have undiagnosed EDS and my allergist is now retired, I am stuck in getting a useful diagnosis...
I am so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, many allergy and immunology doctors believe that the serum tryptase must be elevated to qualify for a MCAS diagnosis.

Have you noticed a difference since you started doing all that?

Dr Carnahan gave some great tips in this episode. Did you have time to watch the whole thing?
