    That turned out great Kyle. I haven’t touched obsidian since my early polishing days because it was so difficult to get a final polish that good. This is making me want to give it a shot again. Thanks for sharing!

    Great video Kyle, thanks for the content and beautiful polish! I know it varies with the piece, but can you give an approximate time you spent at each stage to achieve that result? Thanks again! 👍

    Can you point me at a 3-minute tutorial on how to UNcontaminate a wheel like that 1200-grit?
    - water-soak? Compressed air with water added?
    - toothbrush with BarKepeers Friend?
    In the dental world, an old trick to get melted plastic or wax out of our diamond burs was to run the burr at about 10 RPM against the wooden shaft of the Q-tip that had carried the topical anesthetic in. It smells like an old-school woodburning set for a moment, but it cleans all kinds garbage out from between the diamonds.
    Do you have a favorite material to pre-test your wheels to make sure they aren't contaminated?
    Is there one material that tends to be found more regularly causing the problem in the first place?

    • @WorldofRockhounds
      @WorldofRockhounds  8 днів тому +1

      @@randalljones4370 I'm wondering if maybe if it's less contamination and more like there may be some diamonds that are poking out of the resin more than the others...which if that's the case - I might try and just find test piece of a different material to see if I can just work the wheel long enough to correct it.

  • @TomLarose-m7c
    @TomLarose-m7c 8 днів тому

    Beautiful. How do you fix the wheel that had a contamination?

    • @WorldofRockhounds
      @WorldofRockhounds  8 днів тому

      @TomLarose-m7c it's probably just some diamonds that are more exposed than the others so I'll try and work something else on the wheels in hopes to level it out. It happens from time to time
