usually I like creators with quality over quantity but you have managed to do both extremely well, as always great content, the only thing I can binge watch. perfectly put together and interesting. thanks for always making my day
@9:20 from what I've heard, its a short digital signal. When the NAC output is energized, it sends +24 VDC. When data or a command is transmitted over the lines, the NAC voltage drops to 0 VDC, but only for a few super short milliseconds. This is how the panel communicates with the devices over a pair of wires. There is at least one patent document that outlines this. Kind of just to go off on a short tangent, this method of communication seems to pave the way for addressable notification devices (ex. TrueAlart, or whatever latest technology Simplex has got). I believe Honeywell has something like that coming around the corner too given what we know.
As someone who has programmed a friend with programming a firesheild, I know this first hand that it’s kinda hard, although his firesheild does have an LCD, but you have to like go through the reset and slince buttons if I remember correctly and the manual does help you, but I think if they had nav and enter and number buttons like almost every other panel, it would make it a lot faster. And yes the genesis sync thing is just called “Genesis”.
Hi Nicky how are u ok today am big fan of u do a rally good job on here mate keep up there good work on here and keep up there good work on here form Greg
I personally think that selective silence isn't an issue at all. Since when would a deaf person who is outside of a building after evacuating with many other people who aren't deaf not just go inside when everyone else goes inside?
@@slendertech it's not all about blind people. It's also about those who can see that the strobes are still flashing and could be confused. Especially in areas of buildings that may only have strobes as the primary notification device. And a blind person would not be able to see others entering a building, as they have a lack of vision
I also have a fireshield that is the 10 zone 4 nac variant (fs1004). It has a ground issue in the board so it’ll probably get taken down for another system. I have a couple vids on my channel about this system.
They also make programming software for these, its way easier to program them that way. Also, if your fireshield has a DACT, (aka it has the display) it also makes programming easier.
Cameras are nothing special or good but they get the job done they are yi wi-Fi cameras not sure if they're still made or not. Every time I do a monthly test the generator is also done in that video
yo so your into fire alarms so im trying to wire up a pull station to a vivnt sky panel and I want to know if positive goes to zone and negative goes to common, Thanks!
Here where I am the requirement is 24 hours standby +30 minutes in alarm which was increased from the previous requirement of 5 minutes in alarm. But if the system is powered off of a listed alternate source such as generator it is four hours standby I believe

Thank you I appreciate that. That's good to hear
@@nics-systems-electric I want to say I love your shorts. They fit in perfectly with your normal videos.
im just amazed at how two wires can be used to tell the horns to shut up and yet keep the strobes blinking
Yeah I guess I didn't think of that

This is EXTREMLY cool, and I wish I had one.

It is pretty cool. You did a good job.
Thanks!
Awesome demo setup!
Thanks!
Awesome fire alarm system
I’ve always liked these smaller edwards panels and I want one
Nice video!
Add one of those Edward heat detectors.
Very cool!

The problem is sometimes it's safe to re-enter the building once the system is silenced but not necessarily reset
Yes, so even if the system was silenced but not reset the blind person would see everybody else re-entering the building and proceed to do so as well.

Good point.
Also, sorry I meant deaf not blind.
Wow Another Demo in soooooo long

Hello NIC’S - SYSTEMS & ELECTRIC
Question what brand and kind of security Cameras you use? And can you do a fire alarm test while the generator is on?

On those est horn strobes can you change the horn volume?
Yes you can by cutting the volume jumper
I always loved how EST panels have a temporal tone for fire.
I hate just about everything else about them though.
Yeah I hear ya
Hey Nic, I Think A Napco FireWolf, And FirelinkFACP, And Gemini Commercial Burglar/Fire Security System Are Simpler To Program!
Might be simpler but they aren't legal for commercial use
@@nics-systems-electricSo You're Saying That They're Better For Residential Use?
@@matthewantonucci6751 that's all they can be used for here
First viewer and first like! Very cool!
how long does the battery backup last
By law it needs to last 24h
24 hours standby, and 1 hour in alarm I believe.
i wanted to know if it was a 24 or 48 hr system
Here where I am the requirement is 24 hours standby +30 minutes in alarm which was increased from the previous requirement of 5 minutes in alarm. But if the system is powered off of a listed alternate source such as generator it is four hours standby I believe
for that system, i can recommend you to put system sensor i3 smoke detector
I'm trying to find a device that would match the system though that would be an accurate on brand set up you would see
@@nics-systems-electricsiga detector?
or maybe an ec10u
Funny thing I just a had a dream you and I hung out something went bad you went to inspect a fire system.
Lit
Oh no Edwards EST the company this guy really hates it and my school district uses it all over the place.
Yayy! First! Love your vids
This guy really hates on est!😅
If this is in a real building I will remove the system and replace it with a notifier nfs2-320 and break the est panel in half.
That's true other than there isn't a NFS 2-320 but there is a 640
Ok that makes sense
i’m not a fan of the genesis at all.
