Also, are you able to do preset mixes for different environments/applications such as "band", "lecture" "film" and so on with different inputs either live or muted? Thanks!
Hi Dean, the best way to run the signal to the back of the room is just to run some long cables from the desk to the back of the room. And yes you can run different preset. I think they are called snippets on the xr18
Are you talking about playback music or recording? For playback music I just leave my phone hooked up to the xr18 on the stage. For recording I’m afraid you have to have your laptop near the stage and connect VIA USB. You then have to mess with the routing settings in the x edit app on ur laptop to send signals to your DAW on ur laptop

Hi, just one quick question. Is it working if I try to connect the xtouch to my laptop via usb, the laptop is connected to the router via wifi, and the xr18 and the router is on the stage. So, i am sitting in the mixing place in front of the stage (FOH) with my laptop and my xtouch, and only the laptop is connected to the xr18 via wifi, the xtouch is not connected by remote lan cable to the xr18, only an usb to the laptop. This means, i don’t need to use 50m of lan cable to the stage. Or this is necessary to connect the xtouch and the xr18 with a remote lan cable?
I could be wrong but a am fairly sure that the only way to connect a xr18 to an X-Touch it with a ethernet cable. The USB port on the X-Touch is for use with a computer controlling a DAW
You could try connecting the lan port of the x touch to your laptop ethernet port and in control panel select both interfaces(WiFi and ethernet) and create a bridge. It should work like you want it. Although you might experience some lag on the faders. If you can go wired it is always preferred
Yep listen to George Kampisios. Especially the "If you can go wired that is always preferred". Never be depentant on wireless for your main control in a live situation. For example you test and test and set everything up and then 250 people with cellphones with their wifi standard on walk into the place. It is just not professional to relie on wireless. Do you offer a service to help me set my system up and get me running it in a more pro way? I take it your in the UK? Im a bit of a luddite but want my FOH system set up by a pro and then I can drive it onwards???
Glad you enjoyed the video! That is exactly what what my job is. Drop me an email griffudd.owen@gmail.com and we can go from there
Hi Griff! Was wondering if the X-Touch can deliver sound to computer for OBS and livestreaming? The XR18 has a USB port for this function.
Hi Lucy, you can’t get audio out on the x-touch only the xr18. The x-touch is basically just a glorified midi controller
@@FloppydoggamingHD Ok. Thank you!
Something wrong with my X-Touch. I don't have Xct1 mode. Only "MC" and "HUI".
Never mind, firmware update was needed.
I was just about to suggest that
Very late comer to the party on this, but awesome video and thanks for doing it! I'm guessing the buttons are premapped on the touch when you link it to the xr-18? or is there any manual mapping involved? again thanks for doing a video far more useful than behringer did lol
Hey man when you select one of the bus mix can you change it from post to what you actually have labeled on the xr18?
Very well done video so helpful !
Why not use the xr18 built-in router?
You can do. Just the range is not very good and the signal drops quite frequently
Hi great video,
How do you remap the buttons on the right?
Thank you. I don’t think the buttons are remarkable but I could be wrong
Hi griff, I use the Ipad and the Xtouch with an XR18. Do you know if you can use the snapshots in the Ipad app on the X-touch? I use all stereo channels and i would like just to have all 8 stereo instruments on the first 8 channels just like i can on the ipad.
Can you mix live with just the xtouch and xr18? Do you need a laptop or iPad?
Please, if you do not mind writing step by step which buttons you click on x touch
hey Griff, good video. not sure if you're sick of responding to comments yet but just wondering
do you need a router to use the x touch with the x air18 if you were using those two in a small home studio?? i am using a mac mini with reaper. couldn't I set up the app for the x air on the mac???
Hi Richard, I have never tried it so I am not too sure if it would work or not. I sold my xr18 xtouch setup last year so I am unable to test to see if it would work
@@FloppydoggamingHD your the saint of quick replies, no worries. what did you replace the xr18 / x touh with?
I replaced it with a x32 compact
I followed you steps verbatim to get the x touch to work with the XR18, and iPad, but it doesn't want to play the game. I still have iPad control, no macbook control, even hardwired via an ethernet cable, and no x touch control. A mate managed to get it to work a couple days back, but he was playing with it for the whole night, then he had no clue how to make it happen again the next day. Has the system for setting up been changed with the latest firmware possibly, or am I missing something?
If I was you I would reinstall the firmware on the xr18 then start again s
Can you run the xr18 just with ipad alone for a small house of worship set up or xtouch is necessary?
Yes you can that’s the the xr18 is designed to do
@@FloppydoggamingHD thanks for the quick reply. I've been eyeing on the x32, but that might be an overkill to our small church. Glad I came across your video. Question, what do you use for monitors? IEM I suppose
cholo po it really depends on the event I use monitors and IEMS
Hello, tell me how to install firmware 1.15 on a Windows PC?
Great Video!
Can I add and extra xr12 to expand inputs?
Chris D no
Good day! I have a problem with the connection on your video is not entirely clear after you find the IP address that you clicked and then when to scan how to do it? also not entirely clear. Please, help! And then I suffer nothing happens.
You need to turn DHSP on then press the select button on channel 1 then when the word scan pops up click on that then it will find the IP
Brilliant!
How do you enable phantom in x touch?
Andrzej Mariola you can’t do it from the x touch you have to use a tablet or computer running the Xair app to do it
@@FloppydoggamingHD Well, you can. I found the answer on some forum. Press track and then on the channel at the same time the encoder and rec. The letter P or Phantom appears :)
Andrzej Mariola that’s a bit of a pain lol
I love x-air mixers but the X-touch is more pain then added value. True it looks kelw to have mechanical sliders and sometimes you like the feel of real faders but that is about it. I am selling my x-touch and buy me a nice large touchscreen monitor (with little computer behind it) so I can use the x-air control software better. The x-touch is an overrated pain in the ass user unfriendly machine....But it does look kewl :) So maybe it is meant more for studio at home amateurs with a lot of time to learn every freaking combi buttoning by head
Good morning! I just wanted to connect x touch, but it’s different for me. After I turned on x touch on channel 1, there is only Mode - MC and HUI. Does this mean that I connected incorrectly? What do I need to select MC or HUI
I have different options to you the one your are mean to use is XCrlo or something along those lines
Do you have X-touch full size or compact ?
@@FloppydoggamingHD Thanks for answering. I have full x touch. I need to connect an xr18 x-touch laptop so that I can control the x touch faders and processing. Do you have mail or Facebook, Skype? Can you help me
What is your Xtouch's firmware?
@@vvwording4844Hello, I have 1.14
Thanks a lot !!!
theks!!!!!!!good
Great job sir. You we very detailed and well understood. Check out how I use the XR18 on my channel (G Fire Productions) when you have a moment. Keep it in the mix bro!
G Fire Productions thanks for the kind words. Will do!
Very helpful thanks.
У меня стоит прошивка 1,14
Why are you not just use the build in network in the XR18? AND if you are telling us about a great mixer, why is you voice recorded with a crappy iphone mic..... come on. Get a mic.
The inbuilt network is not grate. The range is terrible and it’s failed on me and so meany other xr18 users. It’s only a quick tutorial and it’s not like I am not audible calm down 😂
@@FloppydoggamingHD I will be calm... .thanks
Yeah the only thing that is crap on an x-air is the build in wifi. It is unreliable. Just connect a good router.
Yeah man...that shit (built-in router) doesn't work unless you are maybe alone in your house. Useless!!!!! Btw: this is the best video ever for explaining this X-touch! Thank u for putting in the time.
@@phillippowers6905 Thanks,- I did not know that the build in network is crap.... makes sence to use a router then. And yes,- the content of the video is great. I love it. But the sound is just like the build in network..... crap.
