Great video, I've used the same mount for years now for both visual and astrophotography, it just shows that you don't have to buy a big expensive mount to get great shots.

Hi andy. I was in the same position as you with the bearing on my eq5 pro. It was still smooth and didn't replace. The main thing that made a difference was using a better quality grease than what was put in at the factory. Keep up the great work

Hi Andy I've got the same mount and the last time I used it the mount was grumbling a bit so I'll probably be doing a strip down to it at some point, the updated adm mount fitted to it looks great to

Hi Andy, I have just bought a brand new EQ5 pro synscan mount and I am getting ready to strip it down to re grease it. I am also going to change the bearings as well. What size of Allen key tools do I need to buy? I have already bought the lens wrench.

Any metric and imperial set will do, I got mine from Amazon. Good luck.

When you fitted the ADM saddle did you have any problems with the screw that holds the DEC motor in place?

It was all fairly straightforward if I remember. All fitted well. The mount has performed well since I fitted it.

Are the latitude bolts M8 ? as mine are the same size and one isn’t M10

Mine mounts are very old second hand ones, therefore I suspect mine are different threads from the new one. On my ones the adjustment latitude was M10, and the locking one was M8. However they do change the design every now and then and the thread size may be different.

Where did you buy the latitude bolts and azimuth screws ? They are far superior to the existing ones.

eBay. 70mm M10 adjustable clamping lever, 40mm M8 adjustable clamping lever, M6 47mm wingnut knob. Double check the thread sizes as Skywatcher do change them.
