I finally passed my DAT exam after all the stress.I thank God for the great opportunity and my tutor Thomas 🎊🎊🎉🎉 All my prayers to those struggling to pass through DAT cause it hasn't been easy.I hope y'all make it some day too Amen🙏
I have a cousin who never studied much,we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing DAT last month, she passed and I failed😣, I asked her how she did it, just found out she got her help from Mr Thomas ..
Congrats! I was accepted to OHSU and Midwestern in AZ and I have lower gpa/ DAT score then you, goes to show statistics shouldn't discourage you from applying where you want too :)
Omg this is so discouraging for me :( I’m at undergrad rn but my gpa isn’t anywhere near a 3.8 . I don’t have any research experience either 😭😭. If you got denied I for sure will at all
nooo don't be discouraged. everyones app is viewed differently. For example, my friend had a 3.8 GPA but a 20AA and received an interview from columbia. A 3.5 GPA and a 20-21AA will get you several interviews, just be sure to apply to many schools
I was so tempted to apply to texas schools being out of state too haha but I decided against it. But anyways, great video! I start dental school this fall. I also loved USC but decided against it.
Well, I went to dental school back in the Stone Age (early 80s). I'm sure a lot has changed, but one thing that appears the same is the preference of state schools for in-state applicants. I went to Temple Dental and 95% of my class were Pennsylvania residents. I was a resident of Delaware and was shocked when I was accepted.
Congrats! You were actually my LA in biology back then - you inspired me to become an LA and expand my experiences and network, now I'm applying to dental school this cycle :)
Jasmine you totally just made my day!! I definitely remember being your LA. It's so good to hear from you! And sounds like you are about to crush this application :) Please please let me know if there is anything I can do to help out
Will be attending Houston this fall and was wondering why you chose UT SOD at Houston being all the way in Oregon? I have never really thought what people OOS think about my school.
wow that was amazing I didn't know you chose that school but this is one of the first schools that I'm going to apply, also I live in Arizona too. good luck to you and I hope you are enjoing it.
Hey Jasmine, I was wondering what you meant by "Dental experience". I have seen this on many Dental School websites, does this mean shadowing hours or paid work in a dental office?
Dental experience can be anything dental related! Shadowing is definitely required, any other experience you have in a dental office (sterilizing, assisting, or other tasks)or even with dental insurance or research is great to have on your application too, these can be paid or volunteer.
Hey Jasmine! I am 16 years old and have been looking into settling on dentistry as a career plan after an enlightening conversation with my dentist. I am a US citizen, but I live outside of the states: in a little US territory called Saipan. I'm pretty worried about the costs and what college/university and major I should get into if I do decide on moving forward with dentistry. Any tips or advice you can give me?
Hi! Thank you for posting this video. If I may ask, how did you get dental experience before applying to dental school? Also, how did you prep for the DAT and what was it like?
Hi Zoe! Thank you so much for your comment :) glad you enjoyed the video. I got dental experience by first shadowing a dentist, then established a good relationship with the dentist and staff by coming in to shadow really regularly. They allowed me to begin helping out with sterilization and eventually I started working as a dental assistant for the same organization. Hope that answers your question. As for the DAT, I will definitely be making a video on this with a lot more info in the future. But the biggest help for me was Chad's Videos (aka CourSesaver)!
Loved the video! Is there any way you could answer a question I have based on living expenses. I was just wondering how are you paying those expenses and while not being able to hold a job in Dental school?
Armando Nodal when you start dental school you will get your loan dispersement, it covers tuition and living expenses. All the dental students I know are living off of the loans during school. Hope that helps!
It depends on the program you end up going to, because they estimate what your living expenses will be. In my case, the loans covered tuition (approx $90K this year) and I got roughlyyyyyy $40K this year for living expenses. This is for rent, food, other living expenses and for some required school supplies (like loupes which are $2K, our iPads, scrubs, etc). Most people I talked to in my program got the same. KEEP IN MIND THIS HAS TO BE PAID BACK WITH INTEREST! And each year might vary, and this amount will vary program to program and person to person.
Hi! I am going to be a junior this year upcoming august and I'm currently trying to nail what I want to be before I graduate.I currently have a 3.278 GPA and I am solo worried my gpa wont be high enough to enroll in dental school. Is that a bad GPA for my grade? Please help me ! id love if you could get back to me.
My advice is to stay focused on what you can do right now. Right now just work on learning all that you can in middle school so that you are prepared for high school :) all you can do is put in the time and do your best, and if you do that you are sure to get in to a college. I find that when I think about all the “what ifs” in my future, I get really stressed out. Sometimes you just have to take things one day at a time. I hope that helps 🙏
Hello there 😊 Thanks for your great explanation , I know that it's been 2 years since you were accepted but still a huge congratulations to you 🤍 I'm 17 and I'd really love to be a dentist . Could you please tell me that which California university is better to study dentistry for an international student? I really look forward to hearing from you 🙏🏼❤️
Hey I’m 19 and will be graduating in the fall of this year with my bachelors in science, plan on taking the dat this summer, I graduated high school not even a year ago and well don’t have any shadowing or clinical experience will a good dat score compensate for the my inexperience or should I maybe take a couple months to a year to get some of that experience and then apply ?
As long as you meet the minimum requirements for shadowing you should be good to apply! But I do think the more experience the better. Hope this helps!
You have a good dental education, but we also have good dental faculties in medical universities in Russia:) I think cooperation between Russian and American dentists will be possible in the future
Not to worry :) I know a lot of people who got accepted with GPAs lower than that. There are plenty of other parts of the application where you can stand out, community service, research, leadership, the DAT and so on. Stay confident :)
I finally passed my DAT exam after all the stress.I thank God for the great opportunity and my tutor Thomas 🎊🎊🎉🎉 All my prayers to those struggling to pass through DAT cause it hasn't been easy.I hope y'all make it some day too Amen🙏
I failed 3 times, i lost money to reviews that never helped but the major thing is that I've not lost hope
Passing the DAT is when you study hard,if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself help like Mr Thomas
I had interest in working with him but I was discouraged by my friends out of ignorance 😔
I have a cousin who never studied much,we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing DAT last month, she passed and I failed😣, I asked her how she did it, just found out she got her help from Mr Thomas ..
Sometimes hard work doesn’t pay you have to back it up with smartness🤓, I think your cousin understood that perfectly

Jasmine Ahrar did you have to get certified to become a dental assistant
@@jasmineahrar Did you have to get your dental assistant license?

I hope so!! Having international standards and cooperation is always a good thing 💜
Thank you for sharing your excellent video.
Congratulations!
You made an excellent choice.
Are you Persian?
Why does 3. HOUS accept 99%?
99% of their accepted students are in-state residents. Texas is just like that.
This makes me so scared. I don't have a 3.8... I can't believe you didn't hear back from Rutgers
Not to worry :) I know a lot of people who got accepted with GPAs lower than that. There are plenty of other parts of the application where you can stand out, community service, research, leadership, the DAT and so on. Stay confident :)
So pretty
beautiful
Are u single mrs ahrar?
