Welcome to our Winter Wonderland at Frankfurt pt 2 video!
This time we included many takeoffs from runway 18-25C-25L!
Started in the pooring rain and after a few hours it turned into snowfall. Not that many snow was expected by us but it turned out to be an amazing night. As you may have seen in our previous de-icing video.
In this video you will see all the variaty Frankfurt Airport has to offer. Started on Monday, and with the day 2 switch we included some night action as well of some great takeoffs from runway 18.
Some of our personal highlights of this video are ofcourse the Lufthansa A340-600, but totaly unexpected the Fedex MD-11F made a visit to FRA and with the takeoff of that beauty on Thuesday nothing could made our trip worth it more! And last but not least, or well it is the last clip of this video. The Lufthansa Boeing 747-8I taking off from runway 18, covered in Anti-Icing fluid, thundering down the runway and the fluid that comes of the plane all the aerodynamics are made visible.

I love watching de-icing ops. It really slows an airport”s capacity down, tho. How many de-ice pads does FRA have? How many planes can be de-iced at once? Our local airport can de-ice probably around 10 planes at a time, 12-15 if you include small biz jets.
De-icing is so good to watch, from what i know there are 3 de-icing platforms and they also can de-icing at the gate

@@AmsterdamAviationYT Yes and when lufthansa start getting 777-9s and more 787s and A350s, quad jets will be slowly gone from lufthansa, that’s why filming these four engine planes is very important now.
the a340-600 sound was gold, PLEASE PLEASE DO MORE CAMERA ANGLES LIKE 45:46, next year FRA-DEL will be a380 so getting that on that camera angle will be sick

for 48:28 on that runway i noticed you've cut the clip fort for the a340-600 and 747-8 in earlier clips, play the full clip and it will be amazin
Unfortunatly there are trees blocking the view from that point, the other clips are filmed on a diffrent spot on there

@@AmsterdamAviationYT it’s pretty insane, that Lufthansa is so big that it has 2 main airports: Frankfurt for 747s, A340s, B787s and Munich for A380s, A350s! And why it doesn’t have anything in Berlin - the capital of Germany? But I prefer Fraport over Munich
@AboutPlanes yeah it really is amazing they have those 2 hubs, gladly the A380 is coming back to Frankfurt in 2024 so can’t wait on that! I’m not for sure about the Berlin situation, but I think it’s because Frankfurt is the Financial power of Germany and München got lots of great brands in the area. And maybe also due to AirBerlin that had a hub in Berlin but I’m not sure about that one
