I appreciate the honesty of the test team about what is going very well and what they are having lots of challenges with, and not playing like everything is all roses and coffee cake. Please continue in this way, and we as fans will celebrate 🎉your successes and support you during your failures 👍👍👏👏
I absolutely F**KING love this mini docu-series, I find it so engaging as a new fan to GT3 and endurance racing, even as a Brit I have a an immediate bias towards Aston/McLaren BUT this Ford could be a real 'dark horse' when it's gets unleashed at Daytona and it has my FULL ATTENTION. Well done Ford, Multimatic and partners, a stella effort from all involved. I wish you all every success for the coming season.
Porsche has a road to lemans series that finished last year with Michael Fassbender. Worth a check out. But since that one finished, I'm hoping Ford will do a multiple season/series thing like this for a while.
Thanks ford performance for sharing this series. The honesty from all of the crew and drivers is amazing. Really shows all the hard work and tough times that really go into designing a racecar. Cant wait to be cheering you on in IMSA and WEC competition!
Cannot wait for the Rolex 24, ...hoping to be back home and get over to catch the Roar Before the 24. I want to see these cars compete. This is the time that travelling for work causes angst.
Porsche/BMW biased Balance Of Performance was happening at the start of the 2023 ELMS GT3 season last year also, but after 3 races the data used for scrutineering was used to adjust the balancing somewhat, which made the rest of the season watchable. 👍👍
If Shelby was still here, they’ve give him a call and he would give them a solution. Good good job team shaking down this new car down and wish only the best!
COME ON BOYS DONT GIVE UP ALL OF US TRUE MUSTANG LOVERS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU GUYS TO TAKE OVER THE GT3!!! THE GREATEST GT3 RACE CAR EVER BUILT WAS IN 2024 THE FIRST EVER FORD MUSTANG GT3 .. people are going to be saying that in 20 years!!
I think I'll be tuning in on this coming season. I've never 'watched' racing series before. Fascinating stuff, seeing some of the hustle behind the scenes.
Thank you for allowing us this in-depth look into what it actually takes to have a competitive GT3 car on the world circuit. I never knew... As a simracer this has given me an even deeper love and respect for being able to enjoy the cars manufacturers like Ford and the like put out. It's due to you dedication and commitment to your craft that we have the privilege of enjoy these cars. Eventhough its virtual it's still cause of your work. Wow mindblown. Thanks again for generating more appreciation for the sport that is racing 🐎🏁❤️
Adding to the chorus of how awesome these development videos are, have been waiting for a Mustang GT3 for the last few years. Every year the GT4 Mustangs are the loudest cars on track :) My only wish is this was ready for the 2024 Bathurst 12hr... theres always next year I guess.
It figures that IMSA isn't at Lime Rock this year. I can't remember the last time they haven't run there. As with others though can't wait for the season to start. I'm fully on board the Mustang band wagon, (even though I have a classic Corvette, shhhhh).
Why is IMSA not running Limerock Park? Ine of the east coast's best circuits. A little tight in spots, and needs t9 be organized when it's dry and sunny so it doesn't become a midfest, but what happened?
Awesome video! Improving braking while staying within the competition rules was a never ending process on my track Mustang too. I feel ya! We'll be @ Daytona in a few weeks, looking forward to seeing you guys kick some butt in the Rolex 24hrs!
Very cool. Most braking problems come from compliance in the hubs. Larger bearings is where you are going to end up. Think giant diameter ceramic bearings. Good luck.
It’s really cool how much of a global effort this GT3 program is. From the US to Multimatic, then the engines coming from MSport in the Uk. Seems like a project management headache 😂
I'll be supporting you in the GT3 Category for sure.. *cough* that will change if you crash into a 499P *cough* but other than that you have my full support
Now, imagine if the Mustang GT came with a real manual transmission, Tremec instead, that didn't need to be replaced before 60k miles. That would be one way to get me back into a Mustang that I didn't need to spend near 80k just to get the tremec. That said, wish I could afford this one! Lol
IF... I were a Ford Board Member, I'd take that Thundering V8, sling it in the middle of a Multimatic GTP chassis which they'll have kicking about, throw on a spec hybrid kit. Style the thing like new GT road car but even more wild, screw a big ol' wang on the back, get that 'energy drink' company to put some cool stickers on it and write a few cheques and finally, I do believe one of the drivers there has publicly stated he wants to win Le man's once he's finished crushing everyone in F1. Ohhhh if only....
So...was there a conscious decision made to run with a wing that was all over the place? There had to be somebody there that knew the uprights would fatigue and fracture. Too bad, as Daytona looked to be a good run even with the dagger from the BOP changes instituted.
Mustangs have gotten too big I know.. My 2016 PP1 is way too heavy compared to my old 1989 LX SSP notch back I used to drive at work. Drop 500 lbs Ford and it would be a game changer.
Using forged space frame chassis like Subaru would easily stiffen the car up AND drop a good 200-300 lbs. Not sure why no other manufacturers make their chassis this way?
@@StelaPop True about the weight, I drove a High po 4 cyl Mustang last year and it was honestly far more enjoyable than my current GT and it was all due to the weight, I could "feel" the difference instantly.
@mikeriv60 That makes so much sense to me. Power to Weight ratio matrers so much, and amaz8ng cars like the Nissan GTR and others fall into the same trap as the current Mustang of being way to heavy for it's own good. The old Nissans were very light in comparison also. What high powered 4 cylinder did you drive?
"roots" not sure what you mean. As salaries go up the cost of consumer goods always go up. It's always been that way as noted below... In 2023, the *average* salary across the nation (U.S.) according to Forbes was, $59,428. As we all know there are below average and above average salaries that make up the full picture. Choose yours. Today you can buy a Ford Fiesta for around $14,260 dollars. In 1924 you could buy a Ford Model T for around $300 dollars. The *average* yearly salary was *around* $2,000 dollars. Even in 1965 a Ford Falcon (2-door.) was selling for $1,900 dollars. The *average* salary was *around* $7,000 dollars a year. I here you, it always seems (or is.) things are over priced and just out of reach. I have a ten year old Ford and I know I won't be able to buy a new Ford like I did ten years ago, considering I'm now 65 and on a fixed income. Take care.....................
Lol except every body panel is carbon fiber...I've never seen a mustang on the street with carbon hood bumpers doors boot lid ect.. ya it's just like every mustang on the road💀💀
So what % of the GT3 car is Ford Mustang built in Detroit? 1%? Engine: no, Tires: no, transmission: no, rear end: NO, brakes no, aero: no, carbon fiber: no, suspension: NO, elrectical: no,

I love Ford and the Mustang!
I do like my Mustang, Ford builds a great car.

I really Like that Car Manufacturers produce their Own DTS Style V Logs.

Can wait for EP 3
Great to see a team prepared to show as much as they can both the good and the bad. So looking forward to seeing the GT3 in Qatar for Rd1 of WEC.

turning in to a beautiful machine, keep up the work ford performance or SVT?? idk if you use SVT anymore
Ford Performance is basically SVT, it's not a whole lot different.
I think SVT got merged with TeamRS (Ford's European performance division), and the result is Ford Performance.
