- I tried the water test on my custom speed bag platform - the "DEVILLE X-15." I wanted to see how much it would vibrate when punching. I also wanted to see if having weight on top of my platform helps to deaden excess noise when punching.
Conclusion: Pretty solid, in my opinion. The added weight seems to help muffle excess noise from the bag and swivel.
There was minimal vibration -- with OR without -- added weight on the drum.
SOLID! I have a 36" platform I made for my big 12" Blue Title bag with about 50 lbs on top of the 3/4" plywood. I just filled a glass of water like you did, put it on top and hit the bag. The water was swinging all of the place. It all proves your platform is extremely stable. And, I can punch hard. :) LOL

like i said before on the forum, i don't have to hit on this platform to know it's solid. BTW there is an easy way to make these platforms adjustable without using a wormdrive...ralph
