  • I have been rocking the Darche Gen 2 180 degree Awning for some time now! So I thought there was no better time like the present to give my HONEST review on what i thought! For me it works great and is a must have for the avid 4wder. If you aren't sold on one yet maybe this is the video you need to see to push you over that edge! Check it out!

I put same awning on 6 months ago. Now 180 gen3 is out. Free-standing with built in led lighting. Atleast it is compatible with my wall kit. I've found though where I camp I would still put my poles down even if I had a free standing. Benefit is really when you just wanna pull up on the beach and swing it out for lunch and a swim then go again.

That’s awesome didn’t know about the gen 3 something I’ll definitely check out! I don’t think i can justify a swap out for the sake of ease on setting up those poles a few minor DIY jobs and it does it! Awesome to hear!

Hey mate, how do you find the durability being mounted on cross members? If you could do it again would you have picked a roof platform?

Honestly! Ive had zero issues! In all fairness if i didn’t have the roof racks on my roof when i bought the car if it was a clean slate i think a 270° and a platform roof rack would be the go for what i want however it does exactly what it needs to being mounted on the crossbars and if i was to do it again i would do the same! Unless i had other needs or purposes for the platform where currently i dont however there is probably some benefits to the platform and that would depend on your own circumstances! Cheers for the comment I’ve never really thought about it!
