If you’ll think about it. All of the ninjas have things with their parents. I mean:
- Kai and Nya: They still have both their parents, but they thought for such a long time that they passed away.
- Cole: Lost his mom when he was just a kid.
- Jay: Is adopted and was abandoned by his real parents.
- Lloyd: Still has both his mother and father, but his father is the biggest villain of Ninjago.
- Zane: His father (creator) passed away.
I actually feel really sorry for them now. 😢

--PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING--Some avid fans of Ninjago would remember how Jay stated, “Nadakhan only made us believe what he wanted us to believe,” and and say that that means Jays parents could still be Ed and Edna. However, if you go to episode 74, Lightning (Original Master of Lightning) states that she was going on her honeymoon with a man named Cliff. So, I would say that completely debunks all the speculations and theories of Jays parents being Ed and Edna.

As revealed in Season 13: Master of the Mountain, Cole’s mother is Lilly. Lilly was the Elemental Master of Earth after her father. When Lilly passed away, Cole met Sensei Wu, and was training as the current Elemental Master of Earth.

Remember that Nya in S5 Ep: 3, while training her water abilities, said that sometimes elemental powers can skip a generation. That explains why Cole and Zane's parents had none, but their next generation did.

Wtf are you talking about, in season 2, zane saw through his memory switch his maker being sick and passing but in season 9, zane had a flashback of when wu went to find zane but was speaking to his maker, zane didnt get his elemental power from anybody because he wasnt born from anyone so they couldn't have passed on their power to him. He was build by a builder, the builder wasnt an elemental master of ice. Zane pretty much got his power from nobody

My favourite Ninja is Jay and probably my favourite ninja parents are Ed and Edna, they're a very caring couple and even though Jay's their adopted son they are very good parents and very iconic. It's really nice how as much as Jay's parents can be embarrassing to him they still have a very strong relationship and family.

Coles background story is kinda sad. If you think about it,that his mother has passed away very shortly after he met Sensei Wu,that being revealed in season 8, i bet he's still suffering from her death. "I'm tired of losing people in my life", is what brought me up to this. He isn't talking about it any more,so i assume he's build up a fake "face". Friendly on the outside,but depressed and broken on the inside.
Just my thoughts. Nothing of this could be true i'm just putting these informations together.
One thing to say: it was not after he met Wu. It was before
We know that Ray and Maya were still alive when their children already possessed the elemental powers. So from this we also know that an element can have several masters at the same time. This raises an interesting question: Is Jay’s mother alive? Respectively, the elemental powera are able to skip generations, so the Master of the Earth may be the father of Cole's father and not the father of Cole's mother. In addition, the Master of Ice was not Julian's father, but once visited Zane and Julian, and Zane then received the elemental power of Ice.
In the newer SOG episodes a flash back shows that Zane got his powers from an old man that showed up one day that had skin as cold as ice and hair like snow and made Zane different as in stronger and more skilled, also his dad didn't know who he was, but it was the master of ice. So Zane's dad is not a decendent of the master of ice. Then Wu came to find the new master of ice, Zane.
My favourite is Lord Garmadon because he is strong and have four arms.

Lloyd got his powers from his grandpa, because the First Spinjitzu Master had golden powers, and so did Lloyd. Therefore they are related, but then his powers got absorbed by the Overlord, in season 3 in episode 1. Because the Overlord said,"I don't want to fight you, I just want your powers." Then a few episodes later Lloyd got captured in the jungle, then the Overlord absorbed most of Lloyd's powers.

Exactly! If powers were only inheritable it would mean they can be lost if there is no child. Powers can pass from person to person as it was in Zane's example.
