More of our representatives should do this. I know it seems like such a little thing to take the bus to a new development but you're straight up seeing what it will be like for someone who has to live there to just get around without a car. Anything that is pro public transport is pro people (and also cars if you like less traffic).
I’m pretty sure that this is orchestrated. The buses are never empty and riddled with “unhoused” people. I wouldn’t recommend their public transportation to an outsider unless they’re used to very high crime or urban areas. I’ve witnessed drivers being physically assaulted, verbally abused, spat on, and etc. I’ve seen guns brandished and sexua! assault on passengers. I work in the IT/Tech sector and thought that it would be much more progressive here, so I took a contract, it’s not.
A little fyi. As a eastsider who uses public transportation, you may want to take note that the eastbound McNichols bus was the only bus you needed to your east English development. That bus drops you off at Cadieux and East Warren, 5 minute walking distance from the development. Keep up the good work.
I came to say the same thing like the 6mile bus will take you right there to E Warren and Cadieux and if you didn’t feel like walking the East Warren bus with take you the couple blocks down 😂😂😂 an hour or less is all it takes
Just discovered this UA-cam channel today and subscribed! Echoing everyone's comments on how great your content is. Love seeing Detroit public transit in action and firsthand experiences! Looking forward to watching more from you all!
Great job! I met you when you presented the project to EEV, and excited for the progress. The bus ride was an excellent opportunity for people to see that they can enjoy a quality living experience in Detroit. There are more positive aspects than some care to acknowledge! ❤
Thanks for the tour of Detroit. John from Chicago. I rides Metra South shore line trains Cta bus and L trains and the Pace suburban bus system. All are great systems. Thank you for highlighting black own businesses in Detroit. When in Detroit I have to check this bakery out.😊
I'm not from Detroit, I have family there but I have visited the city a few times and I am so excited for the building back up of black; black homes and businesses. There is so much potential in Detroit and I pray that many start to appreciate their city and help to build back up to the place my mom, aunt, and uncles always told me about when they visited family there.
Glad to see an uplifting and positive video about Detroit..there is so much negativity on UA-cam about the inner city but we are really genuine people of course there are some bad apples but find a city that doesn't have them and throw your stone! Hats off to you Mr. Carrington I love what you're doing...God bless you well in all you do❤
Glad to see folks rebuilding that stretch of E. Warren (grew up on Devonshire and Yorkshire), please keep up the good work. It's nice to see the City putting more money into more neighborhoods outside of downtown. The three "Training Coaches" after your eloquent speech about DDOT brought a tear and a laugh, but the two "Not In Service" while waiting for the Crosstown was a stab to the heart. DDOT system - Easy to use, Yes; Inexpensive, Yes; On-time, oh no no no 🥶🥶🥶
That interview with the cookie shop owner really is invaluable! I appreciate you shining a positive but realistic light on the public transportation options available to our residents and highlighting the needs of the commercial sector. Great job!
I just randomly stumbled across this clip and recognized eddie from the thumbnail. I met this brother 20 years ago at eastern Michigan University and he was my RA during the summer incentive program. What a great guy! I was terrified of college and this guy was always supportive, he even burnt me a copy of the original fast and furious soundtrack. (Lol that's how long ago it was)Ill never forget that.I hope you see this Eddie!
Thank you for sharing my brother and thank you for all that you do. Congratulations on your success. I'm always so proud to see people living their passion. Continued blessings to you. Stay safe and keep smiling and keep shining. We love you. 🙏❤️🙏
Thank you for sharing your wonderful project, looks like a beautiful turn out and thanks for sharing your experiences with riding the DDOT bus, I used to be a bus driver for DDOT, this video took me down memory lane. Keep up your great works brother ✌🏽
The Bus service here needs improvement, most on the Buses are kinda clean ,they need more covered bus stops with seats for older people like myself, and to have police patrol the areas around the stops more,I know a older man that was attacked by a couple at a bus stop.thankfully he wasn't hurt to bad,but he's a heart patient. IT'S A sad state when U have people attacking the elderly people that can't fight back.!BE SAFE OUTSIDE YOUNGMAN .
100% Detroit needs improvements all over the board. Quality of life is very poor and walkability is still laughable. Start holding your family members neighbors and any criminal you see liable for their actions and maybe the city might come around but too many people are on that no snitch mentality. There is plenty of excuses for the reasons why the city is in its current condition but it can't be 100% blamed on general motors or anyone else It has to at some point come back to the citizen
I love this video. I’m excited for your development. It looks like a quality project. I checked out your website and I was impressed by the design of the apartments. It will be a great addition to the neighborhood. Now I have to make sure I get over to the west side to get myself a few Good Cookies.
You are being very gracious in your presentation . Looks like you're the only person on the bus . Overall this is a good video and much needed to help highlight what's needed in the city , meaning more participation from residents that have chosen to stay the course and revitalize our city .
you just spoke about three buses when you got off the six mile bus and I find it coincidental that three bus are coming torse you to your destination. wow look how God work amen. May God bless your business. Laugh out Loud.
This brings back memories of me catching that Fenkell Bus downtown to connect in Cadillac Square going east on the Mack bus. How much is it now to ride the bus in Detroit?
Wonderful job! This was a great informative and wonderful video. Please feel free to reach out for any assistance that you may need. It's a real joy and comfort when our own can highlight and embrace our great city.
It really only takes 1 bus to get to your destination because the Mcnichols bus takes you to the corner of E. Warren & Cadieux which is only a few blocks down from that bus stop. Also, if he had a bike with him, he could have put it on the rack in the front of the bus so he dont have to walk far from the bus stop to his destination. How I know? I take the warren bus to work & see the Mcnichols bus All the time going up & down Cadiuex.
I’ve seen one of your other videos you were on the roof I believe installing air conditioning units at least someone had been while you were there …. This JUST SIT ON IT sounds like a FANTASTIC idea and a GOID PLACE to give a donation… something that can be used by ANY CITIZEN of Detroit. Hopefully it is still in operation . Even though I don’t ride public transportation I think it’s heart warming to see a Man/person and in the city of Detroit ( the MOTOR CITY) using public transportation to get to work especially , I would assume that this is by CHOICE 🤔 I could be wrong all the same HIGHLY UNUSUAL
I’ve haven’t seen a completely wooden framed commercial real estate project that size.. even the stairwells, didn’t even know that was a thing considering fires?
I love riding the bus! I'm currently in search of my first commercial property to develop. I just found your channel; thank you for sharing your journey!
The public transportation system here is the equivalent of a rural town in the south. I have been in MI, for over a year working (contractual work) and have taken the bus (SMART & DDOT) to save money. it’s not particularly safe for women that aren’t street savvy either. The police response times aren’t quick in the more “urban” areas, so you’re pretty much on your own. Unless you have keen situational awareness, I wouldn’t recommend it. Also, the sexual advances from drivers are never ending and the bus cleanliness is deplorable.
Dude be careful at those shitty bus stops! The areas you were in is extremely cutthroat! Much as you tried to give transit a good name, DDOT IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST! You are a jewel here be safe
Let's take the bus together. This isn't a real betray of daily occurrence of Detroit bus takers. Everything you said is actually not true. The on time rate is 49%, the app is 70% accurate. Take the bus more then give me a video. You are right about the ease and how inexpensive it is.
Damn talk about low bus ridership... But when there's not really any true destinations in the city that's what happens. Not like people are taking a bus ride to go hang out in greektown or downtown... The people mover was a waste the q line is a waste, and since you're a black dude building stuff you don't get called out for gentrification
Who robbed Detroit where did the tax dollars go most of these properties are owned by the city of Detroit now way before these properties were in such bad condition they could have taken the tax dollar and revitalize these communities.🌄🦍☮️❤️
Thank you for pushing public transportation and black owned businesses. Many people do not have their own vehicles to get around town, plus the money to pay car insurance.
Right and most fixes cost less than your insurance deductible so you still have to pay for the fix and your insurance on top of gas and other maintenance cost. The roads are terrible so your car always needs tire work. People are disrespectful so it’s glass everywhere you turn it’s definitely expensive to operate a vehicle daily in the city
You are the black people I'm looking for. Not no New Era Detroit or all your fake preachers that want to speak for the black people or act like black leaders.
I REALLY Enjoyed the video at first but. In ALL I am so excited and proud of you my BLACK BROTHER, but I need for you to be real you can't have it both ways, either the city is treating us BLACK 🖤 PEOPLE'S WHO rides the Dot Buses with respect. And and the answer is no we as BLACK 🖤 PEOPLE'S are not the racist GENTERIFICATION. In this city. Has thrown us BLACK 🖤 PEOPLE'S under the bus no shelters at 90 percent of the city for us BLACK 🖤 ELDER PEOPLERS WHO. WALKS ON CANES ,WALKER, ONLY NEW BLACK GARBAGE CAN 🥫 ACROSS FROM THE BICYCLE. LANES THAT ONLY WHITE PEOPLES REQUESTED WHEN THEY CAME IN TO OUR BLACK COMMUNITY SO PLEASE SIR TELL US THE TRUTH BECAUSE WE KNOW

Thank you for this video. The city needs more videos such as this for exposure. Excellent highlights!

Detroit is really turning itself around
You haven't been in the neighborhoods.

Why does it have to be a racial thing? If this was a non-black developer it probably wouldn't be of any interest to you
Glad to see an uplifting and positive video about Detroit..there is so much negativity on UA-cam about the inner city but we are really genuine people of course there are some bad apples but find a city that doesn't have them and throw your stone! This was so interesting. Kudos to you for doing this!
Not sure how I stumbled across your video but this is awesome! Btw, I remember you from our younger days in OP!

Great job Sir. Do you know you could have stayed on the McNichols bus to Cadiuex and Warren?
I felt hurt for you when them first three busses went past. I remember that life in Detroit.
Detroit buses and SMART buses have some of the worst drivers in the world
Love the video but 6mile bus was dat empty hard to believe 😂
You are being very gracious in your presentation . Looks like you're the only person on the bus . Overall this is a good video and much needed to help highlight what's needed in the city , meaning more participation from residents that have chosen to stay the course and revitalize our city .
Thank you for shinning a light on our beautiful city
The building @ 13:06

Simply nice to see
I used to live on Vandyke and Clairmount
How many times did you walk out in the middle of the street to look and see if the bus was coming? And don't tell me you didn't. This is Detroit.
I’ve haven’t seen a completely wooden framed commercial real estate project that size.. even the stairwells, didn’t even know that was a thing considering fires?
Does anyone know where the unedited bus ride footage is?
I love riding the bus! I'm currently in search of my first commercial property to develop. I just found your channel; thank you for sharing your journey!
Thanks for video
Whatabeautifulproject!
I hope you have a security guard to watch that new apartment complex. Lots of stuff to steal there.
The public transportation system here is the equivalent of a rural town in the south. Definitely need to be cleaned WAYYYYYY better the drunk and mentally ill folks be on the bus urinating and defecating on themselves
yo from dearborn!
Aint nothing metal in that whole building. Im just glad that building is going to add to my property value...
Dude be careful at those shitty bus stops! The areas you were in is extremely cutthroat! Much as you tried to give transit a good name, DDOT IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST! You are a jewel here be safe
6 and van dyke 😮💨 hope he licensed to carry

You can thank your Mayor Magic Mike Duggan
How he gonna make 8.2 million back on this investment when ain’t nothing on E Warren?
Rents going up, Up, UP!
