      The best behaviour is similar to that of water,
      because water benefits all creatures and yet remains unselfish.
      It occupies the lowest position by itself
      and for that very reason is credible and unspoiled.
      The best human behaviour is undemanding to the outside world
      and desirelessly inside;
      devoted in action and true in speech;
      ordering in leading and powerful in action;
      calm in doing.
      And only when this behavior strives for nothing, is it perfect.
      - Tao Te Ching, 8

      I mean Taoism is a pretty strong inspiration for the Jedi philosophy. And for an everyday westerner highly the number one introduction point to it. Couple that with the release of the Mandalorian and Rise of Skywalker in this time frame and many people's thoughts are prone to associate things with Star Wars.
      'Musubi'... all the things, thoughts connect and separate like strings. Umm, yeah, watched Kimi No Na Wa (Your Name...) yesterday. Such profound wisdom in that Japanese animated movie too, the framing of my thoughts is very in tune with it now XD

      @NotATeenStereotype Best of both worlds aye, yeah thats usually a safe win. I really like the 'say the perfect thing at the most right time' as possible. You can see the words pierce through them and provide an angelic uplift of spirits sometimes but things like quotes and philosophy don't register at all with some people. Honestly its a shame that philosophy is not taught early and throughout school curriculum. As far as i know its not taught at all here in the West except as a selected class late in school. Its literally a spirit fortifying weapon for life and it stimulates deep thought and introspective evaluation. But hey thats not good if you want a nation of automatons right.

    This is great information, I find that when dealing with toxic people, not interacting is the best approach. Toxic people generally are sick inside and lash out at others for their problems. I find that ignoring them then causes them to target someone else, or complain to higher ups, and they unravel their own fabric if you maintain your posture and dont partake in their games

      The mistake is letting go. Let be and never let go. Most if not all failures are due to people letting go. Insistence and persistence are the keys to success, from friendship to marriage to growing old. Till death I don't part.
      Never go with the flow. Create one.
      May the love and the peace of Jesus be with us.

      @@parasamesar1925 This video was made by people who don't understand Chinese. Take the COVID-19 pandemic as an example, did the world let go and laid flat? Yes. Did China let go? No. That is why China has less than 5,000 deaths and is still persistently insisting on zero tolerance. USA has over a million deaths, with one quarter of the population of China. See the difference and why?
      Lao Tzu said the highest virtue is like water. Have you ever seen water let go and go with the flow of others? No. Water is always focused, insistent, persistent, and create its own flow. That's the virtue of water. Letting be is not letting go. Letting be is allowing all concerns to survive without having to surrender, fail, or be defeated. Have you seen water not letting be? Never.
      With marriages, if one would let be and not let go, the marriage and the love will survive. Even when the marriage must be broken up, the love would still survive, and there should not be any remorse, guilt, or pain for as long as there is love.
      May the love and the peace of Jesus be with us.

This is so different from personal growth gourous who tell you to take action, to treat yourself with imperatives to reach goals that you invented for yourself... You are saying that no great effort is needed to be fulfilled and live a pleasant life, and this is so releaving. Thank you very much !

    Thanks for the video. It reminds me of Alan Watts. He explained this concept very eloquently. Basically this practice of letting go in Taoism is meant to teach the individual to learn the value of spontaneity. By allowing things to flow naturally. The universe gives birth to precious moments of unfiltered truth. Raw spontaneous natural manifestation.

    Happy new year! This video is great and I truly agree with the Taoist way of Letting Go. To me, letting go means to Surrender to the Universe. It means to let go of force and just Trust. It means to let go of control, manipulation, neediness and clinginess. So instead of struggling my way upstream, I let go and allow for the effortless way downstream to lead me. This is the Highest Path. On here, what is meant for me will come to me effortlessly and what is meant for me will always be of better quality than what is not meant for me. This way, things fall into place, opportunities present themselves, tension dissolves, the heart opens up, love flows and synchronicities start to happen and guide me through this path. I believe this is what it means to be in flow. It is to be aligned with the Universe.

    "wu wei" translates directly to "not do," so I think it's better to refer to it as "wei wu wei," or "do not do" -- because this gets more to the heart of Lao Tzu's mysterious yet profound langauge. The full phrase appears three times in the original Tao Te Ching, and Ursula Le Guin speaks to its importance in a footnote of her English rendition of the book: "Over and over Lao Tzu says wei wu wei: Do not do. Doing not-doing. To act without acting. Action by inaction. You do nothing yet it gets done... It’s not a statement susceptible to logical interpretation, or even to a syntactical translation into English; but it’s a concept that transforms thought radically, that changes minds. The whole book is both an explanation and a demonstration of it."
