I got an identical fake one from a surplus retailer only a month ago. It was described as a "U.S. Municiple Tourniquet". The country of origin was "imported", and neither the tourniquet itself nor the instruction sheet showed any manufacturer information. The instruction sheet contained bad grammar, and odd word-choices.
@@snodre3123 fake may work but could snap and you don't want that chance at all especially you end up needing it for a real emergency, if you need something cheaper you can make pretty reliable tourneys at home just look it up
pointless test, both crushed the can, both would work to cut off circulation, the amount of tightness given on both is far far far above what is required.
I understand it is not ideal to buy a fake one, but I believe it is better as nothing. I might get one or two fakes as backups if my real one (which I EDC) is already used, and use the spared money to get more medical stuff.
A fake is actually worse than nothing since it could blow out at any moment and tank your diastolic pressure. Conversely, if you have nothing and improvise, it forces you to focus your attention in addressing the bleed and seeking medical attention ASAP. I have 4-5 CAT 7 tqs and a couple SOF-T tourniquets I got for free from work. People like you are why I never trust anybody to apply a personal, potentially cut-rate TQ to me
There is a chance that the fake one could snap or stretch at any moment during transport to the hospital. This is like walking around with a gun that may or may not have a blank somewhere in the mag. No room for those avoidable errors in emergency service.
If you want to spend less on a tourniquet, perhaps a different design is the way to go. A cheap CAT-style tourniquet just has more potential points of failure.
Hey man do what was the takeaway? Looks like the fake wasn't built as well but still did the job?
yes, but sometimes the fake will brake ua-cam.com/video/YiRWxSrBeDc/v-deo.html
I want to know the brand
North American Rescue and unbranded from ebay

Does the fake do the job or not?
it does not. Way too many turns with the windlass
