Happy New Year.. adding a couple of suggestions... IF you are practicing this in 7ths rather than triads, then for your 2 chord you can play a Min7 OR a Min7b5 on the 2 chord. In addition, when I kept saying the word "key" at the beginning I meant "chord."
Thinking about the half diminished scale from the perspective of this exercise makes it feel way more contextual as “what it sounds like” instead of thinking whole-half-whole-half-whole-half-whole. It’s a lot easier to play the scale after reframing around I ii and going up minor thirds!
Yeah! You're right but what I figure out in his explanation is using what had been learnt and personalizing it in another context. I also believe one can use this same approach with a different voicing entirely even in a different concept. I've never joked with neighboring keys (key relationship) concept 'cos I know it's a powerful tool to explore.
"when you learn something on my channel or somebodys channel" This phrase shows that this guy is interested in you been able to play keys regardless of who taught you.Not everyone is like that
Glad your profile pic came up on my phone as I search topics. 💫Happy Glorious 💫✨ Year ✨to everyone.!!!🌼 Yes thanks for all the chat about connecting keys to chords etc. relationship. and ideal movements. Plus I like the Motown… like sound expanded which one can pick and choose. You’re a pleasant teacher to listen to so nice to meet you. Ruth in Michigan.
Hello sir watching this after the Quennel Gaskin playing outside of the key video was amazing. The as the deer example is insane. That f minor (the ii of the key you modulated to) back to the original key C is so inspiring.
Gems bro!! This is so good. Also I thought I had a spec of dirt on my screen, it was your mouse 😂😂. Love what you give to the community man, keep sowing!
Have you ever tried to learn a song by memory of how the song goes in your head, then here the song only to realize that you are out of the correct key but liked what you came up with?
