    What's good UA-cam fam...this is my first tutorial on the Korg microSTATION. In this video, I walk you through the basics to get you up and running on producing loops...
    Specifically...I cover loading sounds to tracks, options and setup of the record mode, setup of the Loop function and real time lay down of basic tracks to demostrate the simplicity of music production on the Korg microSTATION.

    Aye,man.. great torial! Its scary how this board resembles the workflow of an MPC.. Seriously considering grabn this! Jus watched some reviews on this board lastnite,so im jus discovering it.. Goood alternative station vs. dropn a stack or betta on a more expensine board i.e Yamaha/Roland(Motif,Mox,Phantom) Sheeit,you could couple this wit an MPC and work wonders! Good stuff!

    I don't have my microSTATION with me right now but if I remember correctly...in sequencer mode...make sure you are on the track you want to clear...go to the settings page that I showed in my tutorial where you configure your recording and set it for OverWrite...then when your try to record on that track after one second of recording...all is gone...if you set it for Manual...and hit record...it will only erase until you stop recording leaving everything else there..hope this helps....

    Very nice and helpful tutorial! The first useful tutorial i met on this synth. Is there any chance you could also demonstrate how you can record an entire song from begin to end on the microstation (if that's possible?). Like: okay, so now i have loops, but what when i want the loop on one track only 4 bars, and what if on some tracks i want no loop. I own the microstation now for a week or so and i still haven't figured that out.

      Thanks Marjolein. Glad you found this tutorial helpful. It’s been a while since I have used the microSTATION, so I will have to fire it up and dig through the menus to give you a good answer on that. I’ll post another comment response to your question, once I have the info for you.

      Okay Marjolein. I have had a chance to go back and look through the menus, so this is what you need to do in order to make a full length song.
      1. Ensure that you have all of your loops recorded on their individual tracks.
      2. Then go into the "Track Edit" section to do the following...
      a. Ensure the track you want to edit
      b. Set the start and end measure or section
      c. Set how many times you want that section to repeat itself
      d. Select "Yes" or "No" as to whether you want the repeat function to apply to all tracks or not.
      e. Then cursor down and select OK by pushing the right cursor. If you applied this to all tracks, then you only need to go back and erase the sections of measures you need to remove for each track to structure you song the way you want.
      To get to the "Erase Measure" function, do the following...
      1. Go back into the "Track Edit" section of the menu then use the up cursor to find the "Erase Measure" function.
      2. Ensure you have the track selected that you want to edit
      3. Then select the start and end of the measure you want to erase
      4. Select "Kind All"
      5. Select either Yes or No for the erase measure function to apply to all "All Tracks". If you select "No", then you will only affect the single track that you chose previously within the menu.
      These two function will allow you to build your song quickly and then remove the parts that you do not want so you have an: Intro | Chorus | Verse | Bridge | and any other parts you want to incorporate into you song. There is no absolute way, it really depends on the genre and your personal taste, or the customer if you are doing it for commercial purposes.
      Anyway...I hope this textual tutorial walks you through the process without a glitch and best wishes and success to you with your new Korg microSTATION.
      Deleswa

    Hi Deleswa, are you using a MIDI cable or an instrument cable when you transfer to your computer?

    Hello. Nice tutorial. I own a microstation as well and I am new to the beat making. I was wondering if it is possible to have the sounds from my microstation played into my FL Studio software? And if so, how would I go about setting that up? Thanks, any help is appreciated.

    • @DeleswaProductions
      @DeleswaProductions  9 років тому

      Thanks for watching. On your question, I would say no because the microSTATION is unable to send audio through the USB like say the Yamaha MX49 which sends both midi and audio through the USB at the same time.
      There is one workaround that I know of. If you use a USB audio interface (I use the PreSonus 22vsl) you should be able to send prerecorded tracks or loops you have or play live from the microSTATION through the interface into FL Studio provided you have set up FL Studio to use the USB audio interface as the sound card.
      It's been a good minute since I used FL Studio, but the setup is usually the same for all DAW's when it comes to using an external audio interface. If FL Studio sees the audio interface you want to use, you should be golden.

    how to export it on pc

    • @DeleswaProductions
      @DeleswaProductions  4 роки тому

      1. Mixdown the entire beat from the master as a WAV file and capture the audio as a WAV directly to your PC directly or by audio interface...your choice....but no real export of WAV files unfortunately...the microSTATION only saves sequence, song and midi files...
      2. Another way which may work better for you if you use a DAW is do the same as in option #1 except you will only be mixing down individual short loops from each track as a WAV...this gives more control of your final mix in your DAW
