* Sketch:
* Line 2.0
* 10 px
* Smoothing 10%
* Color: Dark brown
* Opacity: Pressure on
* 2% Angle
* Liquid tool often
* Keep Navigator Open
* Very thin
* No zooming
* Set sketch layer to multiply
* Flip a lot
* Color:
* Round Brush 2.0
* Marquee select/color bucket fill and gradients
* Marquee select foreground character
* Fills
* Background separate layer
* Flow 60%
* Smoothing 8%
* Hue sat and brightness
* No zooming
* Shading: create clipping mask on main character and lightly large brush and deletes
* No mercy for rim lighting
* Clipping masks on new layer then merge down
* Details:
* Go over lines again with line 2.0 for definition
* Air brush for soft gradients
* New layer and merge details
* Use eraser to de-emphasize
* Line 2 for highlights
* Hair highlights draw a large hlighlight and the delete ends for fade
* Line 2 for red and detailed skin tone
* Blend mode hard light light yellow at light source for glow with airbrush and erase to shape

“Dont zoom in” that really helped me, I've been zooming in ever since I've started digital drawing so this really helped me.

Me as a phone user: *slowly starts zooming in*
im currently doing studies on chibi and anime body proportions by using other artists as inspiration and i find it to be the best way for me to learn :) i learn a lot of technical art stuff in my classes because im an art major but most professors of mine do not enjoy cartoons/anime, so im studying on my own. it’s really hard, but i am learning to be more comfortable with using other artists to guide me to my own style

I also have a chrome book, but I haven’t found a pen that works with it.
I have to zoom in because aside from the macro perspective, I like to also add scenes into the microscopic details. So say there's a face portrait on the macro, but someone decides to zoom in to see what those wrinkle lines really look like up close, and are met with a pleasant surprise that there's a noir-style comic strip instead of bland boring lines. I have always had an obsession with miniature anything.
Why do i always find art videos that make me inspired at 2am 🤦♀️I love this and ik I'm gonna end up drawing all night... Again.

The fact that Sam made such an impact with his set that he made other artists want to draw/paint their art exactly like he does
What many people don't seem to get: The appeal is not in his style itself, but in the lighting. There's something about it he does extraordinarily right and which eludes so many others (including me). That's the real secret behind his art: it's in the light!
guys always remember to have your own unique art styles tho!! study others but make your own:D
A beginner can almost never create their artstyle
Because it needs creativity and more importantly "knowing wtf ur doing" that's why it's important to use references from other people u like and after u learn how to paint/draw comfortably.
+Almost nothing is original, because u never see the things that already exist that pro's are inspired from
TLDR- use references until u learn to draw well before settling into an artstyle
@@mayavil yeah ok, but Sam's style is getting everywhere, even people who had a cool unique style changed it to something like Sam's style, i can't really say (wow nice style) without knowing that he simply tried to copy Sam's one.
Same goes to wlop's
It's ok to inspire from other's art style but believe me it's not cool to literally COPY it, even beginners copy styles without studying actual light and anatomy, so they can't really create a piece with cool lighting and colors that goes with each other.

This video was soo helpful! I was able to draw a somewhat style like Sam's and it was really fun. What I love about his style is that he doesn't do lineart which I discovered is not for me 😅 (respect to those who are able to do lineart because I've tried many times but I can never). Also the fact that his style is what I would describe as an Asian Disney-Pixar style 😁
I always thought Sam's artstyle was pretty easy when he first started getting popular and it was. It's a really simple style and i really like styles like that
The real secret is in the lighting and that is not at all simple.

I do traditional art so I'm forced to not zoom in haha, it does help though! If I don't paint too thickly over the sketch, I usually apply that tip too, it looks nice

This is probably going to help a lot
For beginners, don't be ashamed of copying, even if people shame you for it.
What you're aiming at when copying is understanding how it works and how your favorite artist do certain things, also, getting your hand to be comfortable to drawing.
Da Vinci instructed his own students to copy his own drawings, just like he did with Verrocchio when he was young and learning how to paint.
