This is one of those songs that it doesn’t matter where you grew up, growing up poor has a lot of things in common whether you’re city or country. One of those is the fact that not much really matters in life except for two things; your relationships and what kind of person you become. The older I get the more I realize that the most cherished memories I have are summed up in those words “we had it all though we didn’t have much”

“All we had was us”. That part right there hit me hard. This song reminded me of our spring time Saturday mornings when i was a kid. No school, we played with the other kids out front in the yard. You could hear all dads working on something, cutting the grass, working on a car etc…and the music playing in the background. You could smell what every mother was cooking. This song makes me cry all the time. I miss the way things used to be. Our parents were oldschool and we had alot of freedom and our imaginations were truly something else haha. Thank you sir Justin Moore for making such a wonderful song.

A friend of mine has been through hell lately, almost lost his mom, and this morning lost his dad for Covid19. So y'all, call your dad, your mom, and say how much they're important to you, even though you don't get along that well, and maybe you think they might not deserve your attention. We never know what tomorrow will bring, so let's do something while we still can.
Call you family, before time's up. Thank you, Justin, for this song.God bless y'all!
    🇧🇷 "In God we trust".🇧🇷

The day my Daddy died, I had just left about 2 hours before. I went by to give him pictures of a couple of my nephews that we didn’t get to see a whole lot. They weren’t technically my brother’s but we were family while they were littles, and we still considered them family even though my brother and their Mama had split. She had emailed me some pictures of the boys so I printed them out and took them to my Daddy. He’d had a couple of heart attacks and wasn’t doing the best. So I left and took my dog hiking in the State Park that was a few miles from the house. I was in the bottom of the ravine when my step-mother called that Daddy was sick, real sick and they’d took him to the hospital. So here I am with a 120 pound bulldog in the bottom of a 2 mile Ravine, trying to get him to hurry. Him wanting to stop and smell his usually spots. Of course nobody would come by on the car trial that I could hitch a ride with. So I get to the hospital to find out Daddy had gone into cardiac arrest with only my 80 year old step-mother there. They got his heart back but he’d been without oxygen too long. I wished she had let him go then, but she was scared my brother who was working would think different. So it took me a week to talk her into taking him off life support. Every muscle twitch, she couldn’t understand it was seizures. They had him highly sedated because I couldn’t stand seeing them. She would talk to him almost like you would an animal that couldn’t respond. Why am I tying all this, today is 18 years. It broke my heart when I lost my Mama to lung cancer when I was 31, but my Daddy, I was a confirmed Daddy’s girl. You just think your parents are going to be around forever, Till their not.
Back to song’s and music. I love Justin’s music. But when Cole Swindell released “You Should Be Here” and then “ Dad’s Old Number”, they about broke my heart.

Lost my dad a year ago in August. Was driving home today and was already thinkin about him and his birthday is today and this came on and man this song hit hard. We had it all but definitely didn’t have much and that was definitely just fine with us. My dad was a carpenter for 30+ yrs and he wore overalls and boots to his grave. Thank you Justin Moore for makin such good songs. You have really helped me through some hard times with your songs and can’t thank you enough. I know there’s more hard times to come since we’re almost close to thanksgiving and Christmas but you have definitely helped through some hard times and truly cant thank you enough. My dad turned 62 today. He adopted me when I was 2 and my other siblings when they very young as well. Miss that man a lot

What you’re feeling is not nostalgia, but rather an emotion much deeper and more complex: Hiraeth. It’s a word of Welsh decent that means “extreme longing for a home or time period to which you cannot return”.
This song is a perfect example. Out of every emotion, this emotion is my favorite. The mix of happiness and sadness is an ever changing, powerful current. It’s so beautiful and sometimes impossible to escape.
This song brings out this emotion in full force.

Gotta disagree a bit my friend. U know what I’m feeling?? What I’m feeling as a good tune a good country beat and a great voice singing it. Ur diggin to deep in the words. U do realize some folks hear love n sing a song. AND NEVER EVER KNOW R GIVE 2 buckets a piss about the meaning. Life’s to short my friend. No disrespect just in my56 yrs of life my journeys into ALL 50:states n 28 countries I’d say I’ve seen more than most. LIVE LIFE TO ITS FULLEST YALL. it might be ur last. And in a Metal song I once heard and cherish remember this. TAKE A LOOK INTO THE SKY JUST BEFORE U DIE!! It’s the last time U WILL.

I now reside in CO where I was born, they have passed away and this song has been playing on a Mtn Country. The station focuses on Texas country music as opposed to the Nashvegas sound. This one hit the heart, great music!!!!

Wow this song just hit me, haven't cryed like that in a long time. It had me reflecting on my life to this point. As a kid my dad worked hard, we had a tiny house that had 2 bedrooms one of which my 2 brothers and I shared. I also think of my journey as a father and husband too. We never had much had 5 kids and a lot of love . I also reflected on my grandpa who was a preachin man and my grandma who always set us straight. Now our kids are grown have kids of their own and were about to sell this little bity house and move closer to all of them. Oh man all the emotions are just flooding.. Such an awesome song!!

The first time I heard this song was about an hour or so after we laid my grandmaw to rest. As my mind replayed the memories I'm so blessed to have, while driving down an ol 2 lane, this song came over the speakers in my truck. I'm not ashamed to say the waterworks started to flow. The lyrics in this song was my childhood. My grandaddy came home every day with dirt and grease on his clothes to provide. my grandmaw was the definition of Love. we were always taken care of. We only got what we needed but we wanted for nothin. This song will always remind me of my two favorite people. I'm a fan of just about all of Justin's music but this one here... This one hits the heartstrings just right. Thanks for the great tunes!

This song is so true!!! If everyone would be honest it's not about things in this life. You can't take nothing with you when you die. It's about God and family. That song little is much when God is in it. When you have Jesus in your heart your content with what you have.❤

This song made me think of my pop pop who passed away last December. I didn’t cry when he died, he was mentally gone the last couple years of his life and had a really bad drinking problem the couple years before that. But when I heard this song, all those bad memories disappeared and I remembered all the great memories we had when I was a little boy. I love you Pop pop

Reminds me of my 20s. Coming home dirty from working dead end jobs. Seeing the kids when i got home. We didn't have much all we had was love. My wife had cancer twice in the last 8 years. Between those sicknesses we both landed good jobs making good money but when the second time came around it changed everything. It was worse that time. She says it stole her identity. Told me yesterday she wants a divorce after 22 years. I'd do anything to go back to having nothing but each other. Money isn't the answer to everything. It only seems like it is.

Maybe she's trying to save you from seeing her bitter end who knows I hope I'm wrong could be a million different reasons. No matter what I know how you feel. My x did the same thing after 29 years with her. Out of nowhere to never even had a clue it was coming. Hang in there my friend. It will get worse before it gets better. But for your sanity if she wants it if you love her enough you will give her the freedom she's asking for. God love you for trying and I promise everything will work out in the end. May God provide all your needs be blessed my dear friend I'm here for you

My grandparents were together for 60 years. And my parents for 35 now. Recent generations in our family didn't have much, but we had a roof over our heads and food on the table, and we had each other.... and that was enough. Man, talk about a flashback. Reminds me of when I used to go to my cousin's house as a kid every Friday night during the summer. I love those girls like they were my sisters, thats how close we grew in those summers and over the years.... or even jumping creeks and riding through mudholes with my other cousin pretending we're bo and luke. God the memories. I love songs like this....

The song really hits home because I lost my grandfather in January 2020. My wife, my mother, grandmother and nurses were saying I was crying so hard I was hyperventilating. I truly miss him every day. There’s another song out there called I wish grandpa’s never died. I never felt pain so bad until that day. Anytime I think about it I just wanna cry because as strong as man as I am mentally & physically. My Grandfather was honestly my best friend. When my wife and I went down to Trinity where he lived to my grandma’s trailer a few months later. My wife woke me up in the middle of the night because she could hear me crying. It’s been 4+ year and I lose it every time I think about him. What I would give to have one more day with him

He was E3 at that time and we didn't even have a bed to sleep 😂. But I was happy to sleep on the floor. He sent me to school and I got my master's in accounting.
