Loved this content so much. I have officially gone 2 days without meat... truly nothing spectacular but sadly the longest I have ever gone without it.
My goal is to make it a new lifestyle and plan on doing that by watching one educational video a day.
I have been taught all my life how to cook and eat meat. Time to learn something different. It will be worth the effort

Great lecture. But dang, over 3,000,000 subscribers on this channel, this video has been out for nearly 2 months, and not even 1,000 views. Shows how much people really care about what they eat, I suppose.

+Angelo: I'll address a few of your concerns.
      1. The oceans are currently being depleted of fish and other sea life and there are many areas that are already fully depleted. Bottom trawlers are destroying the sea beds.

      2. Nowhere in his speech did Ed Gillespie say that livestock depletion would happen. It's a straw man argument, anyway, as we deliberately breed livestock to meet demand. When demand for animal products goes down, supply will go down, too. Basic economics.
      3. "Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages." ~ Thomas Edison
In other words, violence against humans will continue as long as violence towards *any* animal continues.
      4. "Ubiquitous, gross" inequality is not an issue solely suffered by men. Inequality is suffered by many groups. Egalitarianism is what we should all be striving for, not feminism, masculism or any other similar -ism. Equality should be for all.
      5. As for your last comment, there is nothing that we need nutritionally that we can only get from animal products. Most humans on the planet are able to access enough plant-based foods to live healthfully and on a Plant Based Diet (PBD) we can live long, healthy lives. Your belief that we cannot get certain nutrients or fat chains without eating animal products is baseless. Bacon, especially, has no real nutritional value as any good nutrients it contains are overwhelmed by the negative effects of eating it. As for margarine and butter, I haven't used either in over 30 years. We have no need for them. There are many plant based substitutes for cooking recipes if required just as there are for any animal products.
      6. Your local GP is probably not a specialist in nutrition. A GP is not usually a specialist in anything other than general health, hence the G in the initials GP. Most of the world's major health and medical organisations and professionals promote eating more plant based foods and less or no animal products. People on PBDs are generally fitter, healthier and live longer than those on the Standard Western Diet (SWD). By eating a PBD, you significantly decrease the chances of suffering from heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, artherosclerosis and other illnesses. All facts backed up by current medical science and millions of healthy vegans.

I wasn't suggesting that you could live to 150 if you go vegan. You can live a long, healthy life eating animal products however you have much more chance of doing so on a plant-based diet. Take your chances if you like but I prefer the better odds, plus not causing harm to others and the planet. I can still eat plant based foods that taste like animal products if I wish but they aren't necessary.

Angelo It seems that you're happy doing what you do and don't agree with what I have to say so this will be my last comment on the subject.
It's actually quite simple: If you truly cared about the environment, animals, your health and/or other human's lives you should avoid using animal products. Otherwise you use many times more resources, and cause unnecessary suffering, death, drought, starvation, habitat destruction, species depletion, poor health and lifestyles etc. This isn't an opinion, it's fact.
Also, there's a big difference between vegetarians and vegans. Vegetarians only avoid eating meat which is only slightly better than continuing to eat meat. They still cause the suffering and deaths of animals and all the other negative effects that meat eaters cause. Vegans avoid exploiting animals in any way.
As Mr Spock said, "Live long and prosper." Just stop hurting animals!

CAFO are not farms. Farms are ecological. And we are really what we eat, which means animals, without enough animal foods we can't be healthy.

Was watching random telly and ed was on it briefly explaining about bananas all being clones. Eh? I instantly looked this interesting fella up. This talk was so invigorating I'm inspired. Well done ed.
