Joel MacCharles gave a great presentation. Reading ingredients on the labels of food we buy can inspire us to cook in our own kitchen using simple fresh vegetables and fruits. The Farmers Market is a good source of fresh foods.
Awesome! I started my journey 10 days ago; the first 5 days without processed foods or sugar gave me a slight headache. Eating healthier, saving money and lowering my A1c numbers for good are my goal. I already feel more energized!
Thank you Jackie! An earlier version of the speech included a bit more about that; specifically it is amazing to me that in 4 days of loitering, no one asked me what I was doing, offered help, greeted me or otherwise. I bought nothing and spent more than 40 hours in the grocery store in 4 days! Not sure they knew I was there... :)
I've enjoyed your blog for only a few months and I've been canning jam, pickles and tomatoes for a couple of years. Happy to post this on my Facebook and Twitter accounts. My grocery store visits average maybe one time per month for condiments I'm just not gonna make. Glad others are having this conversation too. No beaver butt for me thank you.
Thank you! I am 2 years new to canning and preserving. I started with tomatoes and spaghetti sauce and just this year made strawberry, raspberry and grape jam. I thoroughly enjoyed this presentation and reinforced what I already knew but feel like a minority.
If you haven't got much space.... you can store your jars ( the one's that must breath ), in a broken down fridge. Keeps the insects out.. and the smells in.
Thank you for sharing - it was a thrill and an honor and I am beyond thankful. I know I made some large claims in the video above - in the spirit of TED and TEDx, I have published a list of my speakers notes on our site (youtube won't allow me to share a direct link). If you can't find them there (wellpreserved DOT ca), send us a message and I'll send you a link...
Fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing Joel. Liked your FB, shared your video and website. Keep them coming! Looking forward to my new garden next year and a heck of a lot of preserving!
Awesome Frank! We made some the next day! I was supposed to make it on stage but some last minute difficulties with the venue (we couldn't bring booze or glass onto stage) resulted in the 'pretend preserve!' Thankfully the non-pretend version is on my shelf. :)
Heheh. In fairness, I didn't insert the word 'ASS' until the audience was in the room. Do first, ask for forgiveness later. :) But it was an anatomical discussion therefore no grief!?! I justified that Anthony Robbins was a world-class motivational speaker and said the F-Word at TED; hoped they'd forgive me for ASS here. :)
i'm not surprised you had trouble getting clearance for glass or booze onstage. i was even wondering if you got a bit of grief for saying "beaver ass", haha : )
Got cured of PCOS with the herbal medicine from DR RORPOPOR HERBAL on UA-cam whose channel was the primary convincing platform that made me use the herbs☘️

super like and sensitively explained
just great Still worth watching
What a great job Joel! I have to wonder what the grocery store staff thought about the guy with the paper slider...
Joel, I will certainly be checking label's for beaver bums! Might give the gin and blueberries a go. As always, an inspirational presentation.
Love!! Thanks!
Great speech!
Thanks @Jobeeism!

I wiki'd it and it's the beaver scent gland mainly used in perfume, but why on earth would a burger need that?... What brand was it?
Good day! Can i ask a permission to use your video for my lesson plan?
Inspiring as always Joel...and those poor beavers' bums :o
Way to go Joel!! Back to basics is the way to go. Where can I get some of that Beaver ass juice? ;)
great talk! inspiring. i definitely have to spare some gin for blueberries in my future. : )
why he points out two options: preserving food homemade or eating industrialized food? why cant it be both?
I don't know that I'd have both at the same time Valerie! :)
Thank you for sharing your talk, I found it very resourceful. I'll try not to eat beaver butt any longer, lol.
haha! YUM-O Diana! It was a lot of fun to say beaver ass on stage. :)
I am a biologician. I used to live in toronto. Ca't we sue for false advertizing. I
Thanks Anne-Marie; I'm picturing a bunch of beavers walking around without bums now. :)
From beaver anus to strawberry jam, Joel broadens the minds and entices the palettes of the world wide web. Great job!

Why is Yt recomending this video in 2020
Who is harvesting beavers for the flavor?? Is this a legitimate hunting job ? Is someone farming beavers??
