- In this video, we look at how time has or has not taken a toll on one of Rock's revered vocalists: Sebastian Bach !

The goal of this series is not to make fun of people, to show a picture of them in their youth and then mock them in their older age.
The goal is to showcase how voices have sustained over time. And who has taken care of their voices and who hasn't, and what was the result. And what could've been done differently for those that did not take care of the voices.
Could they have sustained their voices? And can they be rehabilitated now? Some singers (few) are just gifted with great genes and have been able to sustain their voices on their own. This is a rare exception. The rest of us mere mortals have to work at it, just like we have to work at our voices to get range, pitch, power, control, longevity, stamina, and so forth.
In addition, it's just really cool to check out the incredible careers of these artists and marvel at their singing.
So today, we are looking at none other than Mr. Sebastian Bach!

He’s still killing it compared to his peers. He’s always taken care of his voice and still works on it if you read his book.
Singers voices get weaker overtime. Chester Bennington Got weaker with his voice in his last concerts

I've seen Sebastian a couple times recently (last 5 years). He performed great. Still had awesome range. But in his prime he was on another planet. He also said on one of the shows that it was his first show on a 12 day in a row tour. That's crazy to me how he can sing like that for 12 days in a row.
Sebastian is still killing it live. He’s great in concert. The dudes hilarious too.

I remember being in high school, with my Walkman, and listening to their debut album/cassette. I showed someone the cover and he said “Skid Row, yeah sounds like a winner”. I lent him the tape for the night and a Skid Row fan was born. Bach is awesome and I wish the band would have come to Halifax back in the day….. back in the day you could buy 2 concert tickets for $30, these were the good seats.
I remember those days, my Motley Crue "Theater of pain" tickets from 1985 cost $12.50 each. I still have them.
Sebastian sang very, very well! Particularly, he was one of the extreme voices in the hard rock scene. His voice has changed! But, his past speaks for itself! \m/
Sebastian Bach had that unique, screaming voice in the late 80s early 90s. Slave to the grind in my opinion surpasses the debut album by a mile. it's heavier than their 1st one

I wish Sebastian and Skid Row would reunite. I saw him live in November of 2016 and he nailed everything!
He's my favorite singer of all time, followed closely by Bruce Dickinson, Russell Allen and the immortal Dio.

I've seen Sebastian Bach in concert two times in the last 2 years and he can still hold his own. I was pleasantly surprised!
Bach, Monkey Business was one great song for him. His Saturday Night Live version showed how good he was back in the day. One of the best performances ever.
Thanks Ken ❤️ Sebastian sure is a character lol. We met him once here in Australia before a gig. He was warm and friendly and spent 15 mins talking to us. His show was great. The thing I like about him is he can sing many different genres and still has a great passion for all music.
He always used to talk about the importance of warmups, vocal technique in his interviews.

@@kentamplin It would be awesome just to sit and talk to you about music. I wish I could sing better. I have a decent voice but I'm not sure I can hit the high notes. Never really tried to. I think Dio is one that you can not really tell his voice changed much

You’re right there has been some bashing on Sebastian but I think his voice is still impressive at his age! One would think after all the screaming he’s done in his earlier years that he would be able to scream anymore. But OH he can!! ROCK ON SEBASTIAN!! 🎸

Amen. Behind Sebastian JK is the absolute greatest singer. He doesn’t have the scream of Sebastian or some of the others but that voice is perfection - just saw him November also - I sat there jist smiling as the favorites started up. That band is so amazing. They’re a well oiled machine to this day. Another voice I hope to hear on my dying day.

He is still awesome! Yeah he is taking breaths where he didn't in the past but he is getting older. He sounds better than any singer from the past does now.

I'm surprised the guy is still live.. to be honest. I seen them a couple times back in the day and got to hang out n do some partying with him. The guy was hitting it hard. He was a blast to hang out with. A lot of fun.

Two thumbs up. Bull 4 thumbs up. Sebastian is the man. My goodness he sounds just as good as he did when he started. Wow is all I can say.
Sebastian is still 90% of what he was, which is far more than can be said for others. He's a little more raspy sometimes and he doesn't have the lung volume that he used to have, but otherwise he's still killing it.

we were fortunate enough to open up for Sebastian about 7 years ago and when came on stage there were maybe 100 people in the audience and he put on a performance like he was at the Moscow Muisc Festival in 1989 and he sang his ass of and moved all over the stage. That night I can he seemed to be giving everyone there 110%. I'll never forget that. I've seen Def Leppard here and they played for 1000s and then I saw them in Houston 15 years later and the energy was much bigger in the bigger crowd stadium but Sebastian went all out. a BAd ass for if no other reason that alone in my opinion.
Sebastian Bach will always be one of my favourites.

First of all I love this series and while I was never a fan of skid row you have to give it to Sebastian. that brothers has some really vocal chops
I don't know much about Sebastian Bach, but wow, his voice is so powerful and passionate, and the use of colorful harmonies in his band makes it even better. How you replicated his voice sounds so great! I think both then and now has its own character that is very distinct, and very much worth it to listen to both.
However, as a classical pianist myself, I find it funny and hilarious for a rock singer to adopt such a stage name, considering that I often play the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Sebastian Bach , is still killing it even today. I agree he's voice isn't like it used to be. But compared to other Rock singers in the 80s and 90s. Seb still got it.

Bach is hard to beat! I saw him right after he split from Skid Row at a small venue in my hometown....I never saw them together, to my regret. He seems to be going strong for now!

That first one was the record, so it is hard to compare. I saw him live many years ago and he is great live, partly because of the energy he brought.

That is pretty damn spot on. We used to cover some of these tunes way back and the singing was always subpar however whenever we played these songs, everyone was drunk enough to love them. HAHAHA
