Technically none at all since her lines in the first game implied the precursors couldn't understand her. But it would be really interesting because she pretty much would have an ultimatum. Take the info about the cure to her grave for what the architects did to her or give them the info they need for the cure so that her children can be born and she can see them before she dies.
Actually, I'm pretty sure the lifepod databank says it's equipped with jet boosters, slowing it's descent and allowing it to safely land on hard surfaces.

She could have this blueprints from her PDA from Paul or Bart PDA stolen when she was trying to escape them. Maybe on Aurora board was device that could build Phase Gate. Big room was designed for labs or VIP apartment. Degasi crew don't have any experience of that sytuation. Propably bases built Marg with Alterra maybe is just producer of tools.
Would Al-An have downloaded himself into an infected body though? The whole reason he put himself in storage was his old body was fatally infected and storing himself was the only path to long term survival. Maybe given the choice of quick death by power failure or slightly less quick death by Kharaa he’d pick the latter, but then his primary focus would probably be recharging the energy cells keeping the sanctuary running and going back into storage. If the Sea Emperor contacted Riley with Al-An in his brain they would probably be able to talk directly using Riley’s consciousness as a bridge but then there’s the question of whether the Sea Emperor would even contact you considering she refused to help the precursors.
Well I'd say that since Al-An knows his sanctuary is running low on power and there is no guarantee that anyone will find him ever again, this might literally be his only chance to do something about the huge mistake he did :) So I'd imagine he would take it. For the Emperor, she might not like the precursors, but her primary goal is for the eggs to hatch anyway and Ryley might be her only chance ever for that to happen.
Maybe Al-An was lying to Robin to encourage her and power was been delivered without any disturb. He end power delivery to prove his version. Emperor could easly kill Al-An's vessel (Ryley) after hatching

The biggest plot hole in Below Zero (one of many) is that Maida and Al-An are squeezed into the same relatively small part of Sector Zero for over a decade before Alterra, Ryley or Robin arrive, yet the two seem blissfully unaware of each other’s presence.

Maida's PDA entries from the first game make it abundantly clear that she wants to *kill* who/whatever it was that shot down the Degasi, not work with them. When she first arrived, Al-An's sanctuary might have still had enough residual power left to do some limited scanning for nearby digital information sources, and he picked up enough hints from Marguerit's personal PDA logs to realize it'd be a baaaaaaad idea to contact her. So he just played dead any time she came near him.
This does lead to all sorts of interesting possiblities Butterfly effect style: The distance from the gun may have given Captain Hollister more time to maneuver the ship so he and officers Keen and Yu might've lasted muich longer. They could've rescued Ozzy from the cafeteria. Jochi Khasar might not've become a pancake, Berkley might've been saved by Albert the drone and Danby could've lived long enough to regret cheating his way through medical school.
The creators should definitely ask you to join them for the further Subnautica development, Bacon! Loved this video... especially the editing, slicker than Riley´s hair :D

No what? Below zero takes place a while after the first game for many obvious reasons. Both the Degasi and aurora where the first two vesselsto ever be on 4546b. It was only after the events of the first game that interest in 4546b actually came about

I don’t know if marguerite would leave, I mean, she seems somewhat comfortable on 4546b, but would she want to go back to a place probably mostly run by alterra, when on 4546b she could generally stay away from alterra(or so it seems)
In the old encounter with her at her base (the dialogue changed before the full release) she says that she hates it on this planet and implies that she wants to leave. But then again she hasn’t shown any effort to actually get off the planet so idk what her intentions are

Frankly, I think Riley would just have to settle in as Marg's annoying neighbor. +Al-An: Would he voluntarily put himself in an infected body, or risk building a new one only to get infected immediately by the person helping him? Probably not. So Al-An is out, for assistance. +Marg: I doubt she knew which way she was drifting on the reaper, or how far she traveled, so she wouldn't be able to even give any useful information to get to the crater. Further, she didn't know what was down deeper, because their habitat at 500m is where she was separated from the other two. They never got to the deeper facilities. +Emperor: I don't imagine she spent all of her time telepathically scanning the world, or she might have contacted any of the Degasi members, to get them to come to her. This seemingly did not happen. I bet she only scanned out and found Riley, because of the double shakes of the Aurora crash and explosion, telling her something was different. On the other hand, more of the lifepod survivors may have actually survived. Given how many taken out by crater-specific predators. I doubt warpers were everywhere, because I doubt the facility could manage to make enough of them to patrol a whole planet, and they don't appear in all biomes, even though Kharaa-infected animals do. And at least three survivors were probably specifically killed by reapers.
I do agree with some points :) But on some I actually have a different opinion. Al-An: He has no other choice. He knows his facility is running out of power so he will die one way or another. Additionally, he caused the kharaa outbreak and this might be his only chance to ever do something about it so it would be dumb not to take the chance if he's dead either way. Marg: Yeah she probably wouldn't help with traveling to the crater, luckily I'm sure Al-An knows exactly where it is. Emperor: It is fair that she might not contact Ryley, but it wouldn't really make a difference. Al-An knows where she is being held so they could still find her together!
im like. super late buuuut there seems to be implications that the emperor DID reach out to at least one of the degasi survivors- bart specifically. he has three logs, in the third, he talks about how he's infected and doesnt have time left. interestingly, he talks about "the visions" getting worse. we know kharaa well, hallucinations aren't its symptoms. what else in the game gives you weird "visions"? yep, sea emperor. and they're getting worse as he's dying, which of course they would, she's trying to motivate him to go to her so he wouldn't die. of course this is just speculation, and considering he's well, kinda dead and that was his last log, i doubt we'll learn what he actually saw
I think that the kharaa bacterium was either not present or it got neutralized quickly in below Zero. I said this because as you said Maida was in the planet before riley and never got infected. Also, as we can see in the main game, the way the sea emperor was delivering her enzime was through peepers, however, those are normal peepers, in below zero we can see artic peepers (which is not the same) indicating that those peepers were a mutation to survive the cold, we never see a normal peeper in BZ, so i could assume that they cannot reach sector zero (probably they get killed in the void by the ghost leviathan) so there is no way for the enzime to reach sector zero before riley, so if the kharaa was present in sector zero, it would have killed pretty much all life in it. But what got me the most attention was the story of Sam and the frozen leviathan. She manage to create an antidote (that we can see works in neutralizing the bacteria) but once robin gets the recipe you can see it does not include the enzime on it, just some plants from the area, which makes me believe that the kharaa can be cured without the enzime, and the plants cannot be with the enzime because of what i mentioned about the peepers.
Marg did actually get infected tho, in the Degasi log named "Malady" i believe, Bart lists the symptoms of kharaa and its Marg who confirms that she's been experiencing those symptoms sooo yea
Kharaa was definitely active in Sector Zero more recently than that. Some of the Mercury II's crew got infected and their captain was reluctantly forced to maroon them there, remember...?
As far as I know this could've been the best situation for the auroras crew, A lot of sector zero is Above water level, Compared to the crater or void, So that means more survivors would be alive. Plus margareit is in sector zero, So that's Khasars Goal completed. There's still the QEP to deal with, and that's in the crater. And I think that's where AL-AN comes in.

I think the sea emperor could telepathically speak to humans since this world is similar to ours. The precursors couldn't hear her because they weren't biologically compatible to pick up her messages, she hints a few times that the two couldnt communicate properly. As far as distance, no she probably wouldn't have been able to reach you from that far away however, seeing as how you have to get closer to her near the original crash zone to start picking up her messages.

Riley would want to avoid the debt so he would hop on the ship with Alad after they cure the kahraa. Then the other precursors(if alive) would probably ask him how he did it when they couldn't
The question is whether the Sea emperor wouldve wanted to help Ryley when hes accompanied by... "One of them", and not only one of them but the boss mang himself, the precursor who could be argued holds the very last say when it comes to if they should imprison the Sea emperor or not.
Sunbeam gets an SOS and after a few days detects a massive Debris field indicating the Auroras crash. That's what prompts Sunbeam to go on a rescue mission. The Sunbeam will descend on the planet and get shot regardless of if the player is there or not. So no matter where Riley is, Sunbeam is going to have a delightful chat with the Quarantine Cannon.
I would like to re visit the crater on a later Subnautica game. It would be cool to see how everything is, the aurora, the islands, heck maybe even My bases lol
But why would the sea emperor give the hatching enzymes to Al-an, she doesn’t like the precursors so if she new al-an was inside Riley then they wouldn’t be able to get the ingredients

Well probably there would be atleast one more survivor from aurora because one other life pod(dont remember its number) had working floaters but he got eaten by reaper but in sector 0 unless he get dropped in area with chelicerate I think he would be able to survive as well

In this version it may not just be marg alive but the other survivors could be alive as it’s less dangerous in sector 0 only thing to worry about I think would be most breaking down to the bottom sea floor of all the areas or just regular survival issues
What still bothers me is that the precursors were smart enough to create a giant laser-rifle and a teleportation system but never set up some kind of satellite dish to send out warning signals into space so ships wouldn't come near the planet.
it did kind of send a signal, the signal was the cannons beeping, the precursors can pick up on these vibrations but humans cannot making them unable to understand it
I suppose the main limiting factor would be whether or not you could find the tech to get deep enough to get to Allan. I don't see Marguerit willingly just giving you what she may have out of the goodness of her heart. In the first game the tech you used to advance yourself was not just from the Aurora but from the Degasi crash as well which outside of Marguerit's trash it wouldn't be present in sector Zero. This should also be prior to the research facilities we find in Below Zero unless I'm mistaking the time line. The thing I don't like about Subnautica is the tech advancement would make more sense it you had to find different elements that the PDA would then use to research tech that would be optimal for the environment. For instance you might need to find aerogel before you get the air bladder. Feed more into the system for research and you would eventually unlock the thermal reactor and so on. It would make it far more fun to base build if I needed to build particular parts and farms to research new tech to get deeper.

Why assume that Al-An would necessarily need to accompany Riley inside Riley's head? The data cube in Al-An's sanctuary would have had a few more years' energy remaining at the time of the Aurora crash, such that the Architect might not have been in quite such a do-or-die rush to carry out the transfer immediately, and could've taken the time to talk with Riley first and avoid the whole 'biological vs cybernetic components' snafu. The Architect could instead hitch a lift on Riley's PDA, take up residence in a bug-bot (or spy pengling?) delivered to the chamber by his new human ally, or at the very least, instruct Riley in how to install fresh ion cubes into the sanctuary's power supply, extending Al-An's viable time in storage for as long as necessary to negotiate a longer-term partnership.
Imagine if there was a virus called Kharaa in real life. Then I have to get a lot of souls and good video :) Edit: What if it actually happened on the other planet and maybe there might a Sea emperor or many deep creatures :) I didn't watched or played subnautica below zero but I dont have time
Perhaps a different version of Below Zero could still happen. We do see in the end cut scene of the base game that there are other “islands” for the lack of a better word, and there could theoretically be other significant land masses on 4546b which would have other Architect structures. Maybe there are other Architects whose consciousnesses are still stored somewhere on 4546b, but with the rapid downfall of their society and likely collapse of their combined network connection, they have lost connection to other Architects who were stored as well. In the Below Zero storyline, after the player scans 6 artifacts, AL-AN states “With this artifact, I am again able to trace the imprint of my people. They survived for a time but then their presence becomes faint.” Coupled with the fact AL-AN’s wiki mentions he seemed unique in the fact that, unlike Architect consciousnesses encountered in the crater, he retained his speech and thought abilities (likely due to him being the leader of the Kharaa research team on 4546b, which could give him access to better storage). It is highly likely there would be at least one other “high ranking” Architect from the Kharaa research team who is still in storage somewhere on 4546b, perhaps on an unseen land mass/mega biome on the planet. On a somewhat more humorous note, if the original game had in fact played out with the Aurora crash landing into Sector 0, perhaps the second game might have instead been titled “Subnautica: Above Zero.”
Now that i think about it, what changed in the crater when below zero was happening. The vehicles and bases left behind, the aurora, and maybe changes to the environment from enzyme 42. Maybe alterra revisited the crater to check out the QEP, aurora, and the alien bases.
Alan could have use his ship from the end in below zero. The gun wouldnt have shoot him down because he was one of the ones who build the gun and could shurly disable it
ryley would find marguerite and go take apart the ship for parts lol. also a lot of the fish would die from the explosion as the map is way smaller. would be a super cool sight to see the aurora crashed on some glaciers tho
I really like the idea of if Sunbeam was still landing, you wouldn't be able to see the QEP aiming to shoot, so the sunbeam's crash would be a lot more of a shock, basically coming out of nowhere.
So I kinda have an idea on how the sunbeam could have survived in this scenario but it takes a lot of “ifs” to get there. So the Aurora crashes and Riley and many others use their escape pods to leave. Now how this starts is maybe one of the people in the escape pods see that they where intentionally shot down by something. When they land most don’t die like they did in the first game cause no reapers. So more people are able to meat up. If the aurora lands in sector 0 and not the void the survivors can go to the aurora and turn off the distress beacon effectively saving the sunbeam. It’s really REALLY far fetched but it’s the only way I can see it happening.
With Rileys handsome face and slick haircut gel they would at least make solid acquaintances, correction Riley meets Margarite. Margarite:pulls out survival knife😐💀😅
Something tells me the bacterium wouldnt reach sector zero due to the lack of lifeforms between the crater and sector 0, or at least wouldnt be as dangerous. I mean the crater wasn't just an infested region, it was the ground zero of kharaa's spreading. Second possibility is there were other Sea Emperor(s) in sector 0 that while could slow down kharaa spread, cannot stop the bacterium. This could explain why Margureit survived throughout the decades
Yeah but I imagine before kharaa - the "void" wasn't nearly as dead as it is in the games :) And I like the 2nd option - just not sure why we can't find them in the game then.
@@TheLastBacon well as game suggest, most sea emperors died before they could develop immunity, let alone develop cure. Or maybe the sea emperors were a foreign species brought to the planet in an attempt to find a way to synthesize the cure, that's why we couldn't find any remains of them outside the lab. As for the dead zones, i doubt there would be anything there as they are likely get beaten to death by ghost levs or sucked in whenever the garg lev open its mouth, or have no safe shallows to find food.
This theory is amazing but one single major point your forgot about in this theory… the other passengers that crashed with Riley. They would all still make it.
if the aurora landed on ice, it could've disturbed the lifeforms in it as well as revealing other locations. presumably a precursor portal to the crator would be added there probably free the frozen leviathan as well...
Maida and Ryley would make for an interesting encounter. A protagonist who doesn’t talk at all and a second protagonist who speaks a little but doesn’t really like to.
I would hope that in this situation a few of the other crew would have survived. Yu, keen, Berkeley, Danby and Ozzy could have survived in this situation and it would have been cool for Riley to have met up with his former crew mates. (In the actual game, keen and Yu’s death could have been prevented by Keen not giving into Yu’s begging)
So originally, Robin needs Al-an to progress further through the game. If the Aurora did crash in Sector 0 and this all happened, what would've happened with Robin if she did have to go to Planet 4546b?
I honestly feel that the chance Alan would be in Riley's head seems unlikely but plausible as the whole reSon Alan was in the cube is to escape the kharra

Frankly, I think Riley would just have to settle in as Marg's annoying neighbor.
+Al-An: Would he voluntarily put himself in an infected body, or risk building a new one only to get infected immediately by the person helping him? Probably not. So Al-An is out, for assistance.
+Marg: I doubt she knew which way she was drifting on the reaper, or how far she traveled, so she wouldn't be able to even give any useful information to get to the crater. Further, she didn't know what was down deeper, because their habitat at 500m is where she was separated from the other two. They never got to the deeper facilities.
+Emperor: I don't imagine she spent all of her time telepathically scanning the world, or she might have contacted any of the Degasi members, to get them to come to her. This seemingly did not happen. I bet she only scanned out and found Riley, because of the double shakes of the Aurora crash and explosion, telling her something was different.
On the other hand, more of the lifepod survivors may have actually survived. Given how many taken out by crater-specific predators. I doubt warpers were everywhere, because I doubt the facility could manage to make enough of them to patrol a whole planet, and they don't appear in all biomes, even though Kharaa-infected animals do. And at least three survivors were probably specifically killed by reapers.
I do agree with some points :) But on some I actually have a different opinion.
Al-An: He has no other choice. He knows his facility is running out of power so he will die one way or another. Additionally, he caused the kharaa outbreak and this might be his only chance to ever do something about it so it would be dumb not to take the chance if he's dead either way.
Marg: Yeah she probably wouldn't help with traveling to the crater, luckily I'm sure Al-An knows exactly where it is.
Emperor: It is fair that she might not contact Ryley, but it wouldn't really make a difference. Al-An knows where she is being held so they could still find her together!
im like. super late buuuut there seems to be implications that the emperor DID reach out to at least one of the degasi survivors- bart specifically.
he has three logs, in the third, he talks about how he's infected and doesnt have time left. interestingly, he talks about "the visions" getting worse. we know kharaa well, hallucinations aren't its symptoms. what else in the game gives you weird "visions"? yep, sea emperor. and they're getting worse as he's dying, which of course they would, she's trying to motivate him to go to her so he wouldn't die.
of course this is just speculation, and considering he's well, kinda dead and that was his last log, i doubt we'll learn what he actually saw

Seeing the green light couldve lead Riley (if the aurora did land in sector 0) to the qep, and lead him to the crater, it’s fun to think of.
I think that the kharaa bacterium was either not present or it got neutralized quickly in below Zero. I said this because as you said Maida was in the planet before riley and never got infected. Also, as we can see in the main game, the way the sea emperor was delivering her enzime was through peepers, however, those are normal peepers, in below zero we can see artic peepers (which is not the same) indicating that those peepers were a mutation to survive the cold, we never see a normal peeper in BZ, so i could assume that they cannot reach sector zero (probably they get killed in the void by the ghost leviathan) so there is no way for the enzime to reach sector zero before riley, so if the kharaa was present in sector zero, it would have killed pretty much all life in it. But what got me the most attention was the story of Sam and the frozen leviathan. She manage to create an antidote (that we can see works in neutralizing the bacteria) but once robin gets the recipe you can see it does not include the enzime on it, just some plants from the area, which makes me believe that the kharaa can be cured without the enzime, and the plants cannot be with the enzime because of what i mentioned about the peepers.
Perhaps, to me the whole storyline with Marge just seems like a large plothole - at least based on the kharaa info we got in the first game :)

Marg did actually get infected tho, in the Degasi log named "Malady" i believe, Bart lists the symptoms of kharaa and its Marg who confirms that she's been experiencing those symptoms sooo yea
Kharaa was definitely active in Sector Zero more recently than that. Some of the Mercury II's crew got infected and their captain was reluctantly forced to maroon them there, remember...?

As far as I know this could've been the best situation for the auroras crew, A lot of sector zero is Above water level, Compared to the crater or void, So that means more survivors would be alive. Plus margareit is in sector zero, So that's Khasars Goal completed.
There's still the QEP to deal with, and that's in the crater.
And I think that's where AL-AN comes in.

I think the sea emperor could telepathically speak to humans since this world is similar to ours. The precursors couldn't hear her because they weren't biologically compatible to pick up her messages, she hints a few times that the two couldnt communicate properly. As far as distance, no she probably wouldn't have been able to reach you from that far away however, seeing as how you have to get closer to her near the original crash zone to start picking up her messages.
Maybe - but then again - remember she literally reaches you while you’re already inside the Neptune rocket blasting away :)

Sunbeam gets an SOS and after a few days detects a massive Debris field indicating the Auroras crash. That's what prompts Sunbeam to go on a rescue mission. The Sunbeam will descend on the planet and get shot regardless of if the player is there or not.
So no matter where Riley is, Sunbeam is going to have a delightful chat with the Quarantine Cannon.

In this version it may not just be marg alive but the other survivors could be alive as it’s less dangerous in sector 0 only thing to worry about I think would be most breaking down to the bottom sea floor of all the areas or just regular survival issues

What still bothers me is that the precursors were smart enough to create a giant laser-rifle and a teleportation system but never set up some kind of satellite dish to send out warning signals into space so ships wouldn't come near the planet.
Well they did have that one satellite but it has since crashed :)
it did kind of send a signal, the signal was the cannons beeping, the precursors can pick up on these vibrations but humans cannot making them unable to understand it
I suppose the main limiting factor would be whether or not you could find the tech to get deep enough to get to Allan. I don't see Marguerit willingly just giving you what she may have out of the goodness of her heart. In the first game the tech you used to advance yourself was not just from the Aurora but from the Degasi crash as well which outside of Marguerit's trash it wouldn't be present in sector Zero. This should also be prior to the research facilities we find in Below Zero unless I'm mistaking the time line. The thing I don't like about Subnautica is the tech advancement would make more sense it you had to find different elements that the PDA would then use to research tech that would be optimal for the environment. For instance you might need to find aerogel before you get the air bladder. Feed more into the system for research and you would eventually unlock the thermal reactor and so on. It would make it far more fun to base build if I needed to build particular parts and farms to research new tech to get deeper.
I think the tech should still be doable - though you're right :) Technically you wouldn't be able to get some of the Degasi blueprints!
@@TheLastBacon if they made Marguerit more confrontational it could be one way you could get the blueprints through various interactions where you get a chance to steal the blueprints.
I think the simple explanation for Marguerit not getting infected is cause she used her prawn suit everytime she stepped outside her base.
Right, but she wouldn't have her prawn suit when she originally crashed right? :) And even if so, I can't really see her not getting infected since we know for a fact she did touch the water when fighting a reaper.

Why assume that Al-An would necessarily need to accompany Riley inside Riley's head? The data cube in Al-An's sanctuary would have had a few more years' energy remaining at the time of the Aurora crash, such that the Architect might not have been in quite such a do-or-die rush to carry out the transfer immediately, and could've taken the time to talk with Riley first and avoid the whole 'biological vs cybernetic components' snafu. The Architect could instead hitch a lift on Riley's PDA, take up residence in a bug-bot (or spy pengling?) delivered to the chamber by his new human ally, or at the very least, instruct Riley in how to install fresh ion cubes into the sanctuary's power supply, extending Al-An's viable time in storage for as long as necessary to negotiate a longer-term partnership.
Honestly a very solid point :) Though maybe in Al-An’s eyes a few years would still be very last-minute.

Perhaps a different version of Below Zero could still happen. We do see in the end cut scene of the base game that there are other “islands” for the lack of a better word, and there could theoretically be other significant land masses on 4546b which would have other Architect structures. Maybe there are other Architects whose consciousnesses are still stored somewhere on 4546b, but with the rapid downfall of their society and likely collapse of their combined network connection, they have lost connection to other Architects who were stored as well.
In the Below Zero storyline, after the player scans 6 artifacts, AL-AN states “With this artifact, I am again able to trace the imprint of my people. They survived for a time but then their presence becomes faint.” Coupled with the fact AL-AN’s wiki mentions he seemed unique in the fact that, unlike Architect consciousnesses encountered in the crater, he retained his speech and thought abilities (likely due to him being the leader of the Kharaa research team on 4546b, which could give him access to better storage). It is highly likely there would be at least one other “high ranking” Architect from the Kharaa research team who is still in storage somewhere on 4546b, perhaps on an unseen land mass/mega biome on the planet.
On a somewhat more humorous note, if the original game had in fact played out with the Aurora crash landing into Sector 0, perhaps the second game might have instead been titled “Subnautica: Above Zero.”

So I kinda have an idea on how the sunbeam could have survived in this scenario but it takes a lot of “ifs” to get there.
So the Aurora crashes and Riley and many others use their escape pods to leave. Now how this starts is maybe one of the people in the escape pods see that they where intentionally shot down by something. When they land most don’t die like they did in the first game cause no reapers. So more people are able to meat up. If the aurora lands in sector 0 and not the void the survivors can go to the aurora and turn off the distress beacon effectively saving the sunbeam. It’s really REALLY far fetched but it’s the only way I can see it happening.
With Rileys handsome face and slick haircut gel they would at least make solid acquaintances, correction Riley meets Margarite. Margarite:pulls out survival knife😐💀😅

Something tells me the bacterium wouldnt reach sector zero due to the lack of lifeforms between the crater and sector 0, or at least wouldnt be as dangerous. I mean the crater wasn't just an infested region, it was the ground zero of kharaa's spreading.
Second possibility is there were other Sea Emperor(s) in sector 0 that while could slow down kharaa spread, cannot stop the bacterium. This could explain why Margureit survived throughout the decades
Yeah but I imagine before kharaa - the "void" wasn't nearly as dead as it is in the games :) And I like the 2nd option - just not sure why we can't find them in the game then.
@@TheLastBacon well as game suggest, most sea emperors died before they could develop immunity, let alone develop cure. Or maybe the sea emperors were a foreign species brought to the planet in an attempt to find a way to synthesize the cure, that's why we couldn't find any remains of them outside the lab.
As for the dead zones, i doubt there would be anything there as they are likely get beaten to death by ghost levs or sucked in whenever the garg lev open its mouth, or have no safe shallows to find food.
This theory is amazing but one single major point your forgot about in this theory… the other passengers that crashed with Riley. They would all still make it.

Maybe you'd first encounter Marguerit in the aurora? And maybe you could collect the Degasi PDAs from the crater and give them to Marguerit.
