Hey guys! Today I am doing another baking video where I take one of my art creations (in this case one of my custom phone cases) and attempt to bake and bring it to life. These are always such a cluster of fails and struggles since I obviously have no clue how to bake properly. But you guys ask for it, so here it is!

Today I attempted to bake my original dessert creation, the "MacaCake." I'm a beginner obviously, so this was pretty daunting. There were a lot of steps and stacking, it was not super easy. I had to make a cake, a french macaron and create and ice cream "arrangement," that all work together. What do ya think?

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh 😂 ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 25 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. I make a lot of decorating and painting videos here. I'm obsessed with editing and adding lil bits to my videos, so if that's not your thing....oof you may hate this haha. I paint on squishies, thrift store finds, and other random things I pick up. I also love to draw, but don't expect anything too skilled, I'm not the best at that haha. Okay so oddly enough I am another professional baker and I just wanted to say I wasn’t frustrated just entertained to see you baking lol. You actually did a really good job for a beginner!!
Some notes:
-Parchment and wax paper are two very different things (as you learned here)
-The sifting is to prevent that gritty texture in the macarons
-Homemade frosting is actually super easy to make and tastes infinitely better than store-bought. Here’s an easy recipe: 1 bag powdered sugar, few tablespoons butter, dash of milk (add these two ingredients sparingly and you’ll sort of get a sense for how they change the texture), vanilla extract.
-When you bake the second cake the reason it stuck to the bottom is because you didn’t clean the cake pan.
-Using the toothpicks was actually pretty realistic- a lot of decorative cakes have dowels through them to offer support, same with using the freezer to firm up in between steps.
Would love to see you make your own frosting and ice cream in the next one! Homemade sprinkles would be neat as well, that’s something I’ve yet to try.

Hey moriah! Just a friendly tip, if you frost a really thin layer of frosting on the cake and then put it in the fridge it traps the crumbs in . Then you can go back and do thicker layer without crumbs. It’s called a crumb coat.

I have some advice for when you’re frosting the cake. To avoid the crumbs in the frosting you’re supposed to do a crumb coat first (which is a thin layer of frosting) and then put it in the fridge or freezer, then do a thicker layer of frosting. Hey Moriah! Just a little tip, if you don't want to have a bunch of little crumbs if the frosting, you can do a thin layer of frosting around the whole cake, freeze it, and then frost it while the crumbs are frozen. It looks great, keep it up!!!

13:54 theres a lot of crumbs because you need to do a crumb coat when frosting a cake. Its a small layer of frosting to catch all of the crumbs first, then you'd usually freeze it and then add a thicker layer over that

I know I’m a bit late, but since some of your macarons have been coming out as different sizes, you can buy a macaron mat that shows you what size to make all of them. It would make your macarons come out much better! Your macarons are great right now, but you learn something new every day! Also, PLEASE PLEASE bake again!

Hey Moriah! An easy way of sifting is just put the dry ingredients on the sift, and instead of continuosly shaking it, just mix it with a spoon and it I'll automatically sift. Hoped you liked the tip! Love you

Seriously tho, please dont put wax paper in the oven. Its not made for those temputures. So it melted in your oven and stuck to the cookies. Thats also why you smelled fir when you opened the oven. This couldve ended much worse than it did as the wax paper couldve realllyyyy caught fire. So please be carful and if your confused about something like that look it up or ask someone you know who might know these things.
i use wax paper to make cookies and it works well ;-;

For your issues of only having one sized cake pan, you can bake one cake cut it in half and then stack the half's on top of each other and then cut the size of the piece you would like to use
