    sorry, when i click the "Flash"-button, nothing happens (com port recognized, firmware.bin file is green grounded, till here all seems ok. What could be the reason for this error?

    That's pretty cool!
    When I built my brewing controller using PID and relays I ran into a wifi relay very similar to the Sonos and I wired it inside the panel to be able to turn system on remotely to heat water up ahead of time. 😊
    Amazing how much more is available these days!

    Great project! Would you mind updating the links in the video description? At least the first one (Amazon/TH16) is dead.
    As you seem to not have any earnings of the self-build version of the brick but still have all the effort of maintaining the project: what is your favorite way of donating some money?

    Hi Bernhard.
Was geschieht dort?
    Gelöst: Habe den Sensor erneut eingesteckt- jetzt funktioniert es.

      Yep, the Sonoff TH Origin. I actually made a new video how you build a brewing control with that ua-cam.com/video/5TI9fxsTRmM/v-deo.html

  •  2 роки тому +1

    Just curious, would sonoff basic work for a pump, one th1x and one basic would make complete rims controller. Alternately th1x has a spare gpio and I could wire ssr for a heater to it and use existant relay for pump. Ssr could also provide power limiter, I can do any neccecary firmware modification on my own but server side is out of my field of expertise.

    • @BernhardSchlegel
      @BernhardSchlegel  2 роки тому +1

      Hey there, should work! Only caveat is that PWM for your SSR is not (yet) supported server side. You could use it as pseudo PWM

    Hello Bernhard, great video, everything explained in great detail. Top. I did all the steps without problems, even flashing the firmware worked and the little green tick is displayed. Then I unplug the USB adapter and plug it in again, but the Brick does not establish a WLAN network. It also doesn't work if I use the 230V Input, so it is not a problem of a too low USB power support. What am I doing wrong?

    • @BernhardSchlegel
      @BernhardSchlegel  Рік тому

      Hey! So the intended thing to happen would be that the Brick spawns up a WiFi and you can connect to that to configure you're Brick. If that's not the case: Try flashing it again. If that does not help, open a serial monitor (baud rate is 115200) and paste the console output here.

      Very well possible! However, I never tried it. Keep in mind that the TH10 does not support temperature readings, though. If you give it a shot, it would be highly appreciated if you report back! Maybe asking your local brewing forum would be another option.

      @@BernhardSchlegel Cool, I thought induction plates didn’t really work with relays…do you hold a decent mash temperature with it then mate? I have a 3Kw 230v Induction plate that I would like to control MASH temps for beer brewing. Can this be wired to just accept a 230v plug on the induction plate and then the Brick just plug into a standard UK 13amp plug?

    • @BernhardSchlegel
      @BernhardSchlegel  Рік тому

      We use our 3.5kW Hendi induction plate for mashing (temps up to 78°C/172°F) without any issues. You pretty much describe our setup, only that we use 16A and a German/EU plug. Just use an UK extension cord suitable for your targeted amperages. As our Hendi is still working after all these years I can only assume it features a flyback diode. One more thing: The Sonoff TH16 is no longer available. But I made a tutorial for it's successor: ua-cam.com/video/5TI9fxsTRmM/v-deo.html

      @@BernhardSchlegel Excellent thanks mate. I own a Brewtools B80 Machine, but I am looking for a smaller simpler setup for small trial batches, that I can also use as a HLT tank. I used to use a controller for my BIAG but it was too fiddly, besides I have a B80 for that. I appreciate that you may be covering this in a future video, but can the system be auto tuned? Can the temperature probe be calibrated or offset? When you are trying to hit Mash Temps and have them steady - do you run your induction plate set to full on the dial? I used to be able to control the power of my boil on my previous controller, is this system capable of dialling down power as opposed to temps and if so, again where is the dial on the plate turned too. Sorry, lots of questions, but this system may prove perfect for me for my BIAB / small test batch system. Thank you ever so much, really appreciate it. If there is an email which may perhaps be better to converse on, that would be great.

    • @BernhardSchlegel
      @BernhardSchlegel  Рік тому +1

      @DrunkDelilahBrewery I really appreciate our discussion! Auto-Tune is possible (docs.bierbot.com/using-bricks/equipment/calibration) and will result in nailing target temperatures (without touching the dial), temperature probe offset can be set, induction plate dial has always to be set to full, dialing down has to be done manually. For future technical discussions I'd like to encourage you to reach out in the official support forum: forum.bierbot.com. Thanks soo much for your interest! Cheers!
