i think what you're forgetting is that EVERY strv 122 gets full spall liner, more than even the t90m, which makes a 90s export tank with the "C" armor package infinitely more protected than the 2010s tank with the "D" package intended to be a direct upgrade
also good luck with the mine plates btw. 2.4 tons is NOT worth the 2 times in the rest of your WT career youll be shot down there. If a player's good enough to use he that way, youre boned anyways. Not worth the mobility hit imo.
The armour layout for the 2a7v quite differs from reality, you can find the whole situation of the forums about the 2a7 since it’s missing many things such as its new internal composite and missing/wrong geometry for the add on composites. In addition the gear ratios in the transmission are adjusted to give equal acceleration/mobility as the 2a4. The M1A2 seps also suffer from similar problems
In the end its a game, the 2a7 is already really hard to kill with its spall liners and spaced crew plus addon armour. If you add even more armour the hell is a m1 or t80 going to do?

The Strv family is more to what the Leopard 2 A5 was supposed to be. In the early 90s 3 programmes were started one was to improve the armour and the other two were to increase firepower, so the later L55 gun and the 140mm gun, that was never built (the Pt16/T14 was used to test the autoloader as part of that programme, though). The TVMs (Truppenversuchsmuster ~ troop trail vehicle), which are the vehicles built for the improved protection tests, were evaluated and improved. But they never went into service, with the end of the cold war Germany cut the funds and a lot of the features were cut, most notably the armor on the hull and turret roof. But the same TVM, that were tested by the Bundeswehr, went to Sweden and were adopted with only minor changes. Assuming the Cold War would have continued, it is likely, that Germany would have picked something, that would have been closer to the concept.
Germany and sweden are dominating top br and you are still crying when nations like italy and french recived nothing new and USA (one of the big 3 nations) recived a copy paste slower abrams and no spall liner at all.

The Italians have chosen not to have an MBT, dumping their Arietes. Five second manual reload of 3.5ft round which weights 50lbs _does not work_ when you are on the move. It also slows down after about round 4-5. I have seen a gunner who lap-rounded slam a 3 second reload, from an ambush position. He could not do that same reload while moving cross country because, golly wally, you are bouncing around with a round that has a huge amount of propellant in like reinforced saran wrap. You don't want to drop that round, even if it's just a sabot. He also was really slowing down after about round ten, as you would be, sweet spot depleted,you were having to reach down by your calves to heft your 550th pound of loading. Add to this that, as usual, Gaijin creates artificialities of 'spawn here, wombat hunt!' dualing combat which IN NO WAY reflect armored combat which is typically squadron/company level with a minimum of 10-12 MBT and IFV so that you have enough vehicles to absorb losses, spot enemy muzzle flashes and fire back. The Military does not work alone. And especially today, that means helicopters MUM/Ting drones which sees where the enemy is from like 10-12K and 10nm+ downrange (they can go higher and farther but HiMADS which Gaijin also don't incorporate to force the jets down, nominally make the high altitude bands impossible to hold). If people had to fight as teams, if people had to advance through phaseline captures. If people had to adopt to defensive (2 shots, smoke, displace to a new scrape) vs. offensive maneuver. If ambush was less realistic because you either delivered troops with UH-1/60/Mi-4/8 to hilltops where they could GLLD or AN/PED combat lanes 10km away or set them atop rooftops where they could LOOK DOWN OPPOSING STREETS. If, for later eras, UAVs were small like a Shadow or even an DJI MAVIC, so that you could see just a couple klicks ahead. The style of gameplay and the FUN factor would improve, a lot. Modern armies don't fight this way, 'cresting the hilltop and getting their LFP plowed by sabot'. What pisses me off is that PanzerPaw says the Leopard 2 is 'overpowered' yet, in another review, states the M1A2 SEPV2, a tank which is what, 17 years old (2007 IOC)? needs to be upgraded even if it means cheating, though serious documentation exists which suggests the upper hull and bullnose did not get the upgraded armor as we transitioned from peer state to GWOT/COIN warfare. It's also important to note that the L/55A1 gets the prestige DM73 with much better pen performance than DM53 (DM63 is just DM53 with new propellant). As for the speed, it was given a new and more powerful transmission that improved its acceleration in balance to the increase in weight.

The Leo 2a7V got nerfed so hard. Almost all the armor pieces are waaaay to weak and some are even missing. Why do older Swedish model get these armor pieces but the Leo 2a7V doesn’t?

I honestly think Gaijin kinda fucked Italy with this update. Since Italy already has thr VRCC and Spain isn't getting its own tech tree in War Thunder, Italy should've received the leopard 2E as their new top tier tank. With the 2A7V in the German tech tree and the stridsvagn 122s in the Swedish tech tree as well as Italy's desperate need for a new top tier tank, there's no reason why the leopard 2E shouldn't be added. The leopard 2A7HU is also another option for Italy since they already have the Hungarian subtree.
Tbf was only an gaijin excuse to not add some extra protection mod for some MBTs such as the Leos...the PSO kit can also be used in the 2A7V as well a Duel operations package exclusive created for tank vs tank combat...
