The best SPAA is obviously the glorious German FlugAbwherKanone (FlaK) 8,8 cm. It unfortunately does not abwher flugs , because the timed fuse is doodoo. But it does abwher panzers quite well with the APHE. You should try it.

@@lulu111_the_cool it doesn't because the word for defense is separate from the verb for defending. Verteidigen is the verb using for defending something and Abwehr or Verteidigung is defense

@@lexonforswell, actually it does make sense. In this case it could be considered Denglisch for "etwas abwehren", so "it abwhers flugs", besides the obvious flaws (the h needs to be behind the e - abwehrs - and flugs not being the correct word as it just means "flight") is understandable.
11:10 by definition the ZSU is a FLAK(-cannon) as Flak is just the german term "Flugabwehrkanone" which translated is "AA-Cannon", that's also where the term "Flarak" differs, it's "Flugabwehrrakete" AA-Missile (in german there is no difference between missile and rocket).
The ZSU-57-2 is really good for rushing, and outmanuevering because the turret rotation allows it. It also has pretty decent mobility and picks up speed pretty quickly. Of course, because of sloped armor you need to go for sideshots most of the time, though sometimes you will get away with hitting a cupola. Since you have two gunners, people will think you can't shoot once they take out one of them, and they will rush you, most of the time getting you a free kill. This thing will dominate if you are playing a city map or otherwise in close quarters.
As for it's anti-air capabilities, it is super satisfying to use, obviously because it has a lot of TNT, but also because it has really good ballistics (1000m/s), which makes leading so much easier.
The best version for AA work is the Chinese WZ305 because it has a proximity fused shell which makes it even more trivial to get hits against planes…
It's definetively a bit of a skill monkey to use against Aircraft, but since you fight mainly late props and early jets it's actually not bad.

The part where you were wondering how people get good at SPAA is from playing in arcade, since it shows where to aim to hit planes and from that you pick up where to aim to hit planes in realistic
Or just practice in custom battles and test drive..
nah they download custom sights that actually help aiming lol
It shows a lead circle a Little infrnt of the plan though in this version.
Learning to lead is always more accurate than lead circle

Chinese version is much more versatile, I'm using it up to 10.7 and it's fun kill T-80 or something like that frontally :D Also good agains most helis due the proxy shells.

Just got myself the Falcon SPAA, and it also ripps apart other tanks so fast
Falcon is actually the best AA in the game. So many people trash talk about it when killed by it.
In an era of watching people like oddbawz and feeling terrible about how bad I am at war thunder I appreciate seeing someone put out videos that seem like I might be able to reach that skill level someday. Hope that didn't sound rude.

@@PanzerPaw you should take the ASU-57 to top tier it can pretty much penetrate anything sides and a lot of things fronts, it also have NVG for night battles and scouting, only bad thing is if you're seen you just die instantly
You read the explosive mass, you want the tnt equivalent which is somewhere around 225g the same as those lovely Italian walloper shells
7:34 57, ps my job in the Army was sending many rounds of 155 down range in the 109a6. Please do a review on the one in game, hopefully we get the latest version soon….with Excalibur rounds.

Oh man, the M109 is great fun. Pair it with the British G6 for that 950m/s proxy round and you can hold-off an entire team yourself

The Swedes have a great anti-air, the L-62 Anti II. Rank III at a br of 2.7, 68mm pen up close with the SAPHEI round. It is a beast.

The M42 is really good even at 4.7 but the M19a1 I think is only at 4.0 but they can both shred panthers side armor and panzers everywhere
Falcon is obviously the best AA in the game. I get so much hate by other players when I get kill streaks with it. Killing tanks with SPAAs also seems to give lots of points.
That thing is a Light Tank meanace. I quite enjoy driving light tanks and i just get destroyed to often by that thing.
Also i get Battlefield Vietnam flashbacks of getting killed by it alot too ....

I don't know how this was supposed to be effective IRL. IIRC it had some sort of primitive fire control computer, but I can't imagine that being very useful without real-time radar data. Arguably obsolete when it was built.
In war thunder, it is of course more of a weird light tank than an SPAA.
The Chinese eventually developed proximity shells for their version, but only because they kept it in service well past when it was obsolete.
Well yeah, of course, you can always just fire a round every 1 1/2 seconds for recoil…
But its so much more satisfying to just run in and start blastin’

The ones that shoot you down with this likely are the Chinese ones, which get a prox fuse.
if you search up what makes a tank a tank this does have everything in short is just needs a turret,tracks and to be heavy and yes they did specify heavy it still makes me laugh

I am very glad you didn't catch a game with ne because I always have some exceptionally choice words for players of these kinds of SPAA vehicles with aggressively good penetration.
Also the reason you thought you could kill the Tiger 1 from the front is because you literally can. You have 150mm of pen and he has 104mm of frontal hull armor XD

some of those ZSU-57-2 are useless because of their way too high BR so this style of gameplay is only realy viable with the ork version

I absolutely started to hate map designs in War Thunder. They are abysmal to say the least.
Plus this weird fog effect they added on every map they could, makes games look like playing at night time sometimes, can't see anything. Whose idea was that? ;d
But hey, ZSU-57-2 is brilliant vehicle...
As for Maus, killing it frontally won't work, but from the side where ammo is... It could be doable with how stupid this game is at times.
