I just happened on this randomly. I have seen it on the TV before I subscribed and never got to comment on it! Such wonderful footage of one of my favorite places❤ I still remember when dad first to me for a day trip there before we were married 😂 And in his yellow Road Runner🎉 I've been there countless times and never tire of it. Of course we had to take our 3 children to experience it when they were young! You and Amy looked so at peace on that trip❤

Hocking Hills definitely has a special place in Miller Family Lore. I always think of you and Dad when I'm there. I still vaguely remember one of the trips we took there when I was a kid. I think we stayed at a KOA.
This trip was probably the most relaxed I've ever been in my life. I still think about it all the time. Maybe I need to watch the video again...

@beyondthecampfire Yes we did stay at a KOA not mine nor dad's choice but we at least got a site in wilderness area. So, do you remember sitting down on the curb in the parking lot with shorts on when red ants started biting you and by the time I got to you you were half covered with them! I had to strip you down and dad poured water all over your backside and legs. That's why you always prepare for hikes through the outdoors. Had ointment to put on you too!!!

Happy New Year, Sir Chad of the North! Thanks for releasing a timely video to help us all bring in the New Year! (Sorry I am 11 days into the New Year with replying). I enjoyed every second of it, and feel a renewed sense of vigor to start the year off well! :D
    - 0:22 I love this new font you are using. Is this foreshadowing of what is to come for Knights of the Satchel?
    - 1:02 “Or two”. I like that addition. But for real, being intentional to celebrate life and treat ourselves periodically is a good practice, in my opinion. Tapping into that “Shabbat” rest.
    - 1:05 That hot tub has 3 cupholders?! I am sold.
    - 1:37 Man, I am so use to seeing our slim pickings on most of our backpacking trips that it’s sensation overload to see all the good food in this shot: cereal, Top Ramen, Toblerone, spirits in the far right, StroopWafels, non-instant coffee. Yum!
    - 2:15 The color in this shot is mind bending.
    - 2:34 This rock shelter and waterfall are huge! Nice choice on the slomo of the water falling. I can see why this place gets so crowded so often.
    - 2:58 Love this angle, too. There are so many colors and angles in this canyon that the sideways shots feels just as plausible as the normal horizon!
    - 4:01 Isn’t it splendid to not have to worry about getting wet with rain on the trail when you know you have a warm and cozy cabin to return to? I can almost sense that in your all’s stance here.
    - 4:39 What a dope waterfall. Wow. The water was flowing so well for you all.
    - 5:15 This shot could be framed, dude. Love the comp with the bridge above! Makes me feel like I am Rivendell getting ready to cross into the house of Elrond.
    - 6:03 Rivendell shot, Part 2
    - 7:16 I love places to eat like this. So much character and the experience with the locals enhances the food, too!
    - 7:34 You’re dang right, Grandma Faye 😉
    - 7:39 You are speaking to me pre/post hike shot heart right now! I so love little details like this on trips. Makes it so much more personal and intimate than 100% of the shots being in the woods.
    - 8:06 Couldn’t have planned a better roll for a shot, imo!
    - 9:18 I felt sad to see yall go here! It’s so bittersweet how great but fast these getaways feel. Never enough time.
    - 10:35 Bwahaha I shouldn’t be laughing right here but hearing Amy’s struggles with Big Chungus is just hilarious.
    - 10:52 That is the sound every person should make after every sip of Ski.
Thanks again for sharing this trip with everyone! You could have a nice little recurring series on your channel with day hikes between you and Amy! I would tune in in a heartbeat! Again, Happy New Year, brother! Thankful to have your friendship for 2023 and beyond. Let’s make it a good one. Cheers!

I'll see your 11 days into the new year and raise you a 19!
      - You might be on the right track with your comment about the font 😉 I was laughing because we had a recent conversation where we talked about the consistency of my font and outro music, and then I immediately broke both traditions!
      - Totally agree with your Shabbat comment. It's something I need to take to heart this year. There's nothing wrong with resting once in a while, Chad!
      - We didn't starve on this trip 😀
      - I'm glad you like that angled shot. I was trying to make it look like Amy was alone in a crowded place, and it turned out to be a really neat angle.
      - Your comment about not having to worry about the rain is spot on, haha. It's nice to have that luxury once in a while.
      - That whole Old Man's Cave area is very Rivendell-esque with its waterfalls and bridges and colors. Just imagine what it would be like in the fall. Probably very crowded for one thing, but also even more Rivendell-y!
      - Grandma Faye's felt like eating in the middle of a gas station, and I loved every minute of it.
      - I also love that contrast between wilderness shots and civilization shots. I'll be doing more of that in the future.
      - Full house!
      - I guess I'm not very good at giving instructions when I shove the camera into someone else's hands 😂
      - I was so pumped when they had Ski in the vending machine at the cabins. The influence of Greensburg is far reaching.
Thanks again for watching and sharing your thoughts. And likewise, I'm grateful for your friendship and encouragement. Happy New Year, and let's start planning those 2023 adventures! Cheers, brother!

Happy New Year Brother! Enjoyed the video! A wonderful way to end the year! I'm sure Amy was ready to strangle you when you had her operate the camera in the car 🤣. Btw.... (clears throat) that's my line! 🤣

Thank you, brother! You're probably right about Amy wanting to strangle me 🤣 I need to get better at giving instructions. I do think I've heard you say that line a time or two 😝 Happy New Year!
