Thanks for the video!! We're headed there for vacation in 2 weeks! Also plan on ziplining, horseback trails, and ATV tour. And I'll be bringing my drone too!
Good video capture. I live HH, nice area in general, Logan is getting more Destination related establishments, good for folks into hiking, canoeing, star gazing, bird watching, horseback. The trails at OMC have changed recently, they did a bunch of renovations, some great, some unfortunate. Sadly, they destroyed some great features to account for folks who aren't too bright, and the trails are now one way. OMC is one of several trail locations in this area. Beyond that, there's also Wayne National and a few State Parks less than an hour from HH. Be prepared for Everglades like humidity and the potential of cold on any given day, and lots of steps.
Im local enuff. I know its a small private property but STILL! ...& I partly own a half mountain 3acres inside the red river gorge ky. so i Understand the public interest climbers so on... These ppl have Always taken it way to serious. But wut cud i kno😊. Come to the RRgorge guys! No online orders😜🤙
The drones are not permitted on hocking hills state park. The Rangers I talked to to ask permission first said so. You should've done 5 minutes of research and looked Into the local ordinances. Only a handful of state parks in Ohio will allow drones legally. And if yours is over 25p grams it needs to be faa licensed.
@@keithtreisch6890 you are correct, drones are not permitted. You have to acquire a permission if you wish to fly and FAA registration and permission to fly are required as well, which we all acquired before even considering flying.
@travelingwithgrecas6418 ya well I'm saying I am here as of now July 2024 and I was told for the last 2 j half years by both Rangers no drones allowed of any sort for any reason u less you are flying for emergency services. Even then u need a permit. No permits or flying is allowed at all anymore in any hocking hills Parks etc. National forest Park etc etc. Thye were very adamant about it not being allowed for years now.
@@keithtreisch6890 Ordinances change all the time. We filmed back in 2021. I actually contacted their office before hand by email and they said quote “Thank you for the information. You are permitted to fly in the parks so long as you don't fly over top of other people visiting the park.” I’m sure the rules have changed since 2021.
@travelingwithgrecas6418 ya. Apparently it wasn't long after 2021 thay they started not allowing it. Or this park ranger group I talked to was more by the book. I had tried to get a permit to fly it down ther and they are not giving out etc permits for it anymore for years now I was told. Rally bummed out. But the weather was dry we didn't even get to see the waterfalls really. Bit it seems they have to keep changing the hiking areas as well because of people disobeying the safety lines and burdening the habitats more and more.
Swimming in places in Ohio could possibly be restricted at times due to toxic algae blooms. Not all places deal with this, some blame fertilizers and flooding.
What bodies of water in Ohio have issues with toxic algae blooms? I’ve only heard about this being in the extreme western end of Lake Erie in some years? There would no issues with algae in the Hocking Hills area, they’re just trying to keep people out of the water to preserve the park.
@@aquavelva4927 I know for sure saint Mary's has had issues a number of times. Indian lake has had issues in past . Think in 2019 there were warnings in many places in Ohio.

Yes in National Parks, flying drones is illegal. However, for state parks it both varies per state and sometimes per park. Many of Ohio's State Parks can be flown without a permit. The 3 mile hike from OM Cave to Cedar Falls is well worth the effort.
Thank you for posting this. Much appreciated
hiked the 7mi gorge overlook trail. was one of the coolest hiking experiences ever. well worth the 6 hour drive from MD!!
That awesome! I agree, it definitely worth the drive especially if you come on a right season when falls are full of water
My hometown. It is a very busy area in the summer… lots of tourism now compared to when I was a kid.

Drones are not allowed on state property. So don't do it if you don't want to get in trouble with a ranger.
