I should say at the start Colin and Penelope are my favourite couple too and I personally relate most to them as individuals. However I'm not sure that all or even most people are like Colin and Penelope. After all you have 7 other siblings in the Bridgerton's that are not like Colin or Penelope, along with the siblings current and future spouses that also won't be like Colin and Penelope. Only now in fact am I realising that's obviously 16 people in total. The number of personality types that are talked about in psychology and business. These are 16 entirely different personalities and how they interact and how these personality types are different from each other, and that without adding in all the other characters in Bridgerton. I do agree that everyone has their version of insecurities and fears, strengths and weaknesses but they will look widely different. Sorry for going down a rabbit hole with this, but it's a favourite topic for me. Not trying to be argumentative, just wanting to share my perspective mainly because this season is and this couple are my favourites and I relate to them so much.
I'd love to see you react to Dickinson! It's a period piece (1850's), based on Emily Dickinson (played by Hailee Steinfeld), it's queer, it's quirky, it's funny, it's dramatic, it's a period piece with all the trimmings but with modern language, references and music. You won't regret it, I promise!
About the Mondrich's, I think there is two reasons for that side plot. They have kids around gregory and Hiacynth ages, So that can blossom in future seasons. But also because "Members of the Ton can't work" and that can mirror Penelope and LW papers, because Will couldn't sit with the Lords of the Ton if he is serving them. And how can you be a member of the Ton if you're also are sharing gossip in print about them. Not a lot of people will accept that. So, I think Penelope arch in S4 can be about trully change LW papers. I know that in the book she becomes a nouvelist.

I think that benedict isn't being immature because he wanted to just be with her and she said"i want this as in a thropple" and then he did what she wanted to be with her and along the way he discovered new things and for her to change and for him to be like her...i'm sorry to say but its hypocritical in my eyes from her. You cant be mad when you introduced that idea and then when you realize that you like him he chooses to change because YOU introduced this life to him and now you say"its not all that so ...yadayada."
They replaced the original actress because she left halfway through filming S2 to work on another project and also because they needed to age up the actress aswell. It's nothing to do with how the actress look.
I love Colin and Penelope most, simply because I feel we are ALL Colin and ALL Penelope. I certainly feel that.
