I find it interesting that Daniel did not want nor require the gifts the king had promised to him. Daniel, like all believers, was a citizen without a country and without a king. He did not desire the riches and power of the nation that he was in because he knew it was not his destiny to have Babylon. Daniel knew that God's word to Nebuchadnezzar was coming true this very hour, that the kingdom would be handed over to the Medes and Persians. I love Daniels attitude. Knowing all of this, he dutifully and patiently explained to the king the proper meaning and interpretation of the writing on the wall. God has been impressing upon me lately that this worlds problems and this worlds rulers are not my own, that I belong to a kingdom made in heaven, not made with hands, and that I should not emotionally invest myself with any of it. Praise God for his word and his spirit which guides me.
Thank pastor Mark, in my country the Gift in each family, call the child's of his brothers and sisters and all under his leadership, sons or daughters.
If Belshazzar had not fooled around with the Holy vessels his kingdom might have lasted a little longer...so always respect the Holy Objects of All cultures and religion as we Unity folks believed...Amen
Thank you for highlighting the dynasties that came and went as prophesied. However religious misleaders advocate that Yeshua is Yahweh - he is not. Yeshua is the son of Yahweh not Yahweh himself. Just as Neduchadnezzar is not Nabonidus and Nabonidus is not Belshazzar. Salvation is possible if one accepts Yeshua as the saviour and Yahweh as God Almighty - JOHN 17:3 tells us plainly that salvation eternal is linked to learning about the son - Yeshua and his heavenly father - Yahweh.
