I feel like Across the Spider-Verse appeals to the people who buy the new Call of Duty or 2K every year. They're just so easy to please by just doing bare minium "hype" shit. So, I can see why this is such a casual success, but it takes a lot more than just cool visuals and showing me my favorite Spider-Man for me to call this film good.

The Sam Raimi movies were low B tier at best. Andrew did a much better Spidey and Tobey's Peter was barely passable. Every version of Peter is a genius who made his own web shooters. Organic webs are cool and all but really I think that innovation is a permanent part of Peter's character, if we're talking about the typical spider stiry- which the Sam Raimi movies were supposed to be. And sure it was a good creative decision since it was an attention grabber- I'll admit. But there's no way any of the Sam raimi movies are better than ITSV or ATSV. Not visually, writing, or story wise(aside from the second spiderman)
This movie was TRASH. This movie was about Gwen and the damn “minority coalition”. They went completely out of there way to separate him from his “blackness” and “all lives matter” the hell out of him for the sake of “diversity”. We wanted to see the same cool black Miles from the 1st movie. He had his own swag & style. The coolest part of the movie was at the end when his uncle and alter ego showed up. That’s the type of movie we wanted to see. They BOMBED what could have been a good thing.
