Hello. Just a quick note: you said the slugs may be corroded, but in fact it's the tipe of lubricant they ship them with, it's kind of ugly but efective. You can even see a milky stuff under the bottom sponge. But if you feel like washing them, they will shine like the sun, and then use you lubricant of choice. The H&N 25gr .217 is in fact the ONLY slug I use now (Impact MKII and Crown), but with speeds over 900fps and superior liner heavy...phenomenal. Always great to watch your videos. Thank you.
I was second guessing my assessment of that being corrosion the moment the words left my mouth haha "does lead even corrode? You might be an idiot hodge..." was my next thaught. Hopefully my 22 barrel for the impact will be here shortly
Same here in Minnesota we hit the first minus celsius temps as well this last week. I live next to a small town called Lindström it is a sister city to sweden.

I’m really sorry you didn’t get to enjoy pinging those toads. I failed to mention that I have only done this in the middle of summer when they are out in force and I also leave the light on for at least an hour. It’s a lot of fun, I live half way between Maryborough and Gympie and my dam in summer is full of the wrong sort of tadpoles. Hope it works for you.
@@meatheadmarksman2013 Correct.I can get 970fps with a 35 grain slug,so 30 grain would go well over the 1k..But not with pin point accuracy...I find 180 bar 7-8clicks up from Bottom setting on power dial the most accurate .Dont know what that Speed that is,probably 870-900..But each individual Sumatra results would differ slightly I would say.

Hodge WTF!!! Thought you had both a range finder and the 22 call for the Impact??? By the way....need a couple of stickers for carbon tank and gun case! Admirable that you did not take the shot unless 110% sure 💪👍....just shared this vid on instagram 😉
most springers have a choke at the end of the barrel , look at that side to choose the right slug , i shoot a long time springers and found ,most shoot`s better with a lighter pellet , in, 25 the 25 grain jsb not the 33 ,a springer must get the pellet at max speed in the first 15 cm barrel or so ,and then the pellet leaves the muzzle before the piston rebounce .a short moment the piston is stopt at the aircolomn. ,thats most likely the point it`s most accurat.
@@meatheadmarksman2013 ive got a hatsan .30 springer and that wil shoot accurat the 50 grain jsb pellet .and it can shoot a 79 grain slug when sized to .299. Then its just at barrel size .otherwise it cant seated by hand in the barrel .its a gun that is extremely sensitive at the holding . ive down right a inch at 30 meters is possible . with a jsb pellet .it has the largest spring and piston volume of production springers .a fx is a more forgiving gun with the hold.
Meathead Marksman no S*^t it’s hard enough to to get the buggers to work in a hi power pcp let alone a springer. In the words of maverick “I feel the need the need for speed”
Unless your springer can achieve 1000fps no slug will work. Even with that slugs can be hit or miss. I almost sold my bt65sb H&N grizzlies slugs would never hit the same spot twice. JSB & I kept it. Slugs are 4 PCP's Like piston AR15's I do not think slugs will be all the rage in a few years like they are now.
Yeah i didnt buy them for using in the springer, this is just for the sake of curiosity and fun. Fwiw the fx hybrids shoot about 1 to 2 inch groups at 20m, probably not really usable either lol

Nice stickers.
Cheers 🍻 from hot & steamy Florida.
Once again great Vid Hodge! bit late logging on missed out on the sticker maybe next time.
Still got a few left mate 👍
The .217 h@n go really well in the Sumatra 2500
That big ol' sumatra probably throws them out close to 1000fps

Wish I was back in Paradise, QLD...
When i go on holiday i just stay at home lol
Shoot some normal pellets. The springer may have killed the scope.
it shoots normal pellets pretty good, scope still holds zero still too. not a bad option if you dont have much to spend that little gamo 4x

Glad we found you on insta... Nice videos
Yo, Meaty...fun video...a few hundred FPS would help as the slugs aren't drag stable like pellets:-) Cheers!
Yeah this is more for curiosity sake. Wasnt expecting miracles lol

Meathead Marksman I never had good results with the H&N slugs with power under 860FPS and only up to 50 meters. Good luck with the experimentation.
Put out a sprinkler. It will work for toads.
Hi Just shared with my shooting brother.,
Rogee
The wong gun😳
yep! 700mm 22 barrel for the impact due this month, hopefully soon they will be full sending at 1000fps
What's a real cheap scope which won't shake apart for a springer?
The gamo 4x on mine has been going strong for years. Very cheap and basic. Nothing on it to break really. ~$40ish
@@meatheadmarksman2013 cheers I'll try that on my old BSA Airsporter.
Am taking a wild stab in the dark but there just isn’t enough puff in a springer even if you stuck one of your truck springs in it .
