My youngest son plays violin 🎻 and piano 🎹 I remember him going through his grades, such a stressful time. I think he’d have been even more stressed if he’d had to record himself as you’re doing.
I liked the dress you were unsure about. It did suit your figure, but it’s more important how we feel in our clothes. Recently I had a complete stranger come up to me outside a gig to compliment me on my dress. I’d honestly never experienced that before in my life. It didn’t half make me feel good about myself that night. 😊 I don’t usually wear a dress, my confidence after having bilateral mastectomies is not great. But a few kind words can really give us girls a boost.
I was giggling at the end of your video of you darting around with the camera. It was like watching Anneka Rice. You’re possibly too young to remember her programme. 😂

Do you play classical as well as folk music? The folk music is splendid, we came across a lot of it at Dartington, particularly with Peter Kennedy. We did a lot of classical on our course in the 70s.

It's a very humid hot summer so loose flowy clothes for me. That dress was tighter than usual. I have a friend that wear tight fitting clothes, over 70 years old so you can wear what you like these days, right? Trying on clothes before buying seems necessary as all sizes are different in ladies clothes.

Would it help if you invited an audience of trusted friends to sit and listen as you record the audition tape? The pressure of an audience may help? Thank you for the video. I thought you looked smashing in the dress. It may be worth wearing it for a day just to see how you feel in it after a few hours?

I can understand why you felt slightly uncomfortable in that dress. It’s not that it didn’t suit you, I thought you looked great. But it was more figure hugging than your others. And there’s no point keeping something if you don’t feel at ease in it
