To your point about hiring an editor--as an editor myself, this drives me insane that people do not realize how important editors are and how important the skill is. There is a reason most directors do not edit their own stuff. On the YT front, there are a lot of creators whom I love their stuff but GOOD LORD they need editors; either their stuff is too long or it's just poorly put together. And I don't mean too long as in every video should be under x amount of time--I've happily watched/been engaged with videos that are over an hour, sometimes over two hours--I mean there is too much "dead" time where I'm watching stuff that just doesn't matter (think screaming "get to the point!"). I'm not sure if people just don't realize if you have something that's well made and focused it won't matter how long it is, people will be engaged and continue to watch. Amanda bringing up the fact that the personal life info-dumps are super jarring made me think: even though I know little to nothing about what my favorite creators are actually like, I at least know some things about them. The little that they choose to show or the persona they’ve created in some ways indicates what they’re like. For the creators I follow, I like them for their humor, values, perspective, etc. That’s why I find it so insane that these TikTok creators are so famous. How does anyone connect with them? It’s not just “we don’t know them bc we don’t know any creators” it’s the fact that they’re is literally nothing to know at all. They’re just cut and paste, idealized, rich, young people. Like, you can’t even form a parasocial relationship with their content it’s that bland.
Amanda is always so pretty and her voice is very nice i could watch her explain anything for hours on end i do not care about hype houses but i love hearing her takes
I agree with all of your points, especially about getting people to help you. I learned the hard way that it is detrimental to your mental health to do everything by yourself. Btw, your aesthetic is so American Horror Story, and I am living for it!~
"hey dude, im cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast, do you want some?" "hm actually that was my deceased father's favorite, he cooked everyday for me and my mom who was bedridden due to cancer" the dialogues in this series are exactly like this
There seems to be the professional pretty people who do very little and the more "comedy/vloggy" creators who never. freaking. stop. Alex also seems to freak out about money because he has become the financial provider for his younger brother (I saw this in an other video) and that kind of pressure for a 20 something is too much, imo.
I have no idea about the hype house but when you drop a video I watch. Also, need to mention, the second you were like "why are you not focusing?" to the camera I thought you were calling me out personally. I was like, "I'm sorry, Amanda, I love you but I have ADHD!" Thank God I didn't say it aloud.
I think @CaseyAoson said it best “This is just depressing”….. it’s sad that they only had to make 8 TikTok’s a month and they got to live rent free and tbh , I think this could hurt them more than help them … they’re showing that their faves are either burning out or are just LAZY
I watched the whole show and my favorite part is how everything felt like the most high school drama I've ever seen so I couldn't take any of it seriously 😂😂😂😂
I’m so confused how all of these people have millions of followers, yet I was completely unaware of any of them until Amanda introduced them in this video.
im not on tiktok a lot but it seems like getting followers on tiktok is so much easier than any other platform. For any given person with 1M on tiktok theyll have 50-100k on ig and im not sure why that is, just something i noticed.
*Me watching this when I first wake up and about to fall back asleep* Amanda: “why aren’t you staying focused?” *immediately looks back at the screen* Amanda: *stares…* “Thank you.” Girl it’s 8AM let me sleep! 😂
It is so funny. I have been watching all of these reviews about this hype house show. I can’t get through any of them. This show is so boring that even the people roasting it can’t make it interesting
You seem way happier or confident or something in this video, it's awesome to see! Great video! As for the show, I wish it wasn't reality tv and instead they made it this very melodramatic drama about this power struggle for the main Hype House tiktok account, like the DUNE book had this really tense political conflict in the first part where everyone is planning and trying to gain little vestiges of sociopolitical power (the BANG energy sponsorship is CHOAM lmao). If the show had been that, that's a so bad its good show easily. If it was surprisingly well written that would be even funnier
Me : Do something else, listening to the video but not so much Amanda : Why don't you not focus ? Me : Omg. Sorry, I am sorry.... I forgot I was watching this video.
Sometimes I wonder if I would be able to do UA-cam. And then I see these young people on TikTok having to do the bare minimum and freaking the fuck out and I'm just like "Hey. I worked as a waitress in a multinational franchise of steakhouses for 2 years. I can do what these guys are doing" AND YOU KNOW MAYBE I'M RIGHT
I am sorry Swell! I have been bad about watching your latest videos for like over a month. I have been so busy with life and stuff! You deserve way more likes and views though!
Super late but I think that’s one of the problems with Chase is that his mansion is ALSO being paid for by Bang but he won’t post the ads. Can attest the Creature from the Black Lagoon pinball machine is incredibly fun. Also one of the (relatively speaking) cheaper tables out there--though it's much harder to find one in 100% working condition because it had a central effect that's hard to keep in proper upkeep.

My sister really loved that Flavor Flav dating show. the only character I can remember from that is New York and that's only because she ended up having her own show. She was such a unique person maybe not in the best way but she was able to take the ride given to her. Sounds like all these kids in the hype house were too young to explore their own character ending that they weren't able to present it well enough through the show.
I liked that the camera got its focus issues in order before the end of the video. I was worried the camera was going to keep being obsessed with the plush through the entire video
i feel like theyre pushing it to audiences who regularly watch teen dramas or shows aimed at teens just bc its the same age range??? i GUESS??? plus the show is rated 12/pg-13 so they cant push it to kids accounts (aka the hype houses actual audiences)
At 4:47 I thought she was calling me out directly lol, and bust out laughing cause I was scrolling on my phone, and felt like the teacher called on me, jesus
11:50 Amanda says "you wanna live in a mansion? Go work for it." I heard in my head, Britney saying "You better work bitch!" Que the Britney song playing. Haha. "You want a Bugati, you better work bitch!" 🤣

They need you on this show, Amanda. If only to make all of them cry.
Iwould watch that useless show if Swell was on it.
I'm so jealous that William gets to see the outtakes of every video... Amanda's evil giggle is everything!
Amanda is always so pretty and her voice is very nice i could watch her explain anything for hours on end i do not care about hype houses but i love hearing her takes
Agreed!
Her hair looks really nice in this video.
Same
I agree with all of your points, especially about getting people to help you. I learned the hard way that it is detrimental to your mental health to do everything by yourself. Btw, your aesthetic is so American Horror Story, and I am living for it!~
POV: your camera keeps focusing on the background but the vid is still a banger
I think it likes to focus on the makeship plush because it looks exactly like Amanda
@@winterburden probably more than the real one if it keeps focusing on the plush
Your hair looks SO GOOD in this?!?!!! I don’t care abt hype house and only clicked it to tell u how great u look today amanda. WOW
"hey dude, im cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast, do you want some?"
"hm actually that was my deceased father's favorite, he cooked everyday for me and my mom who was bedridden due to cancer"
the dialogues in this series are exactly like this
I feel like this video would probably help the hype house crew a lot. I would absolutely watch you just give them practical advice face to face.
I’ve been wondering if Chase Hudson and Lil Huddy were the same person so thanks for confirming
There seems to be the professional pretty people who do very little and the more "comedy/vloggy" creators who never. freaking. stop. Alex also seems to freak out about money because he has become the financial provider for his younger brother (I saw this in an other video) and that kind of pressure for a 20 something is too much, imo.
Five months down the line: Hi I’m Amanda and I joined a content house so you don’t have to
I have no idea about the hype house but when you drop a video I watch.
Also, need to mention, the second you were like "why are you not focusing?" to the camera I thought you were calling me out personally. I was like, "I'm sorry, Amanda, I love you but I have ADHD!" Thank God I didn't say it aloud.
Literally just put a normal and small Creator in the mix and the show would automatically get so much better.
This show is hours of my work life that I'll never get back.
"tik tok template boys" that made me LAUGH omg what a line
I think @CaseyAoson said it best “This is just depressing”….. it’s sad that they only had to make 8 TikTok’s a month and they got to live rent free and tbh , I think this could hurt them more than help them … they’re showing that their faves are either burning out or are just LAZY
I watched the whole show and my favorite part is how everything felt like the most high school drama I've ever seen so I couldn't take any of it seriously 😂😂😂😂
I’m so confused how all of these people have millions of followers, yet I was completely unaware of any of them until Amanda introduced them in this video.
Yeah, I spend an embarrassing amount of time on the clock app, but I have never seen any of these people.
@@MorningStar426 lmfao “clock app”
I’m pretty sure the majority of their followers are children and preteens.
im not on tiktok a lot but it seems like getting followers on tiktok is so much easier than any other platform. For any given person with 1M on tiktok theyll have 50-100k on ig and im not sure why that is, just something i noticed.
I’ve never been so happy to not know anything about anyone.
At 4:45 I though you were scolding me for getting distracted by my curly fries and I apologised... out loud... to my phone screen
I wasn't even aware Shawn Mendes had started with MagCon. Interesting.
Enjoyed the video, Amanda. Thanks!
*Me watching this when I first wake up and about to fall back asleep*
Amanda: “why aren’t you staying focused?”
*immediately looks back at the screen*
Amanda: *stares…* “Thank you.”
Girl it’s 8AM let me sleep! 😂
It is so funny. I have been watching all of these reviews about this hype house show. I can’t get through any of them. This show is so boring that even the people roasting it can’t make it interesting
A reality show fabricating storylines?? That would be the first time, right?
You seem way happier or confident or something in this video, it's awesome to see! Great video! As for the show, I wish it wasn't reality tv and instead they made it this very melodramatic drama about this power struggle for the main Hype House tiktok account, like the DUNE book had this really tense political conflict in the first part where everyone is planning and trying to gain little vestiges of sociopolitical power (the BANG energy sponsorship is CHOAM lmao). If the show had been that, that's a so bad its good show easily. If it was surprisingly well written that would be even funnier
Me : Do something else, listening to the video but not so much
Amanda : Why don't you not focus ?
Me : Omg. Sorry, I am sorry.... I forgot I was watching this video.
It's sad that many fictional characters have more dept that some tiktokers
Sometimes I wonder if I would be able to do UA-cam. And then I see these young people on TikTok having to do the bare minimum and freaking the fuck out and I'm just like "Hey. I worked as a waitress in a multinational franchise of steakhouses for 2 years. I can do what these guys are doing" AND YOU KNOW MAYBE I'M RIGHT
I am sorry Swell! I have been bad about watching your latest videos for like over a month. I have been so busy with life and stuff! You deserve way more likes and views though!
Amanda was out of focus on purpose to symbolize the brain fuzz that this show causes 💀
Super late but I think that’s one of the problems with Chase is that his mansion is ALSO being paid for by Bang but he won’t post the ads. He wants to get away from Tik Tok but doesn’t want to give up the mansion lifestyle that comes with it lol. At least he doesn’t wanna be the one paying for it, that is.
10:36 proves the more you get on a platter the more granted you take things for.
Girl, your hair looks amazing!
Lol I was studying with this playing in the background and kinda zoned out until i heard her mention KPop and I snapped back to this lol.
i accidentally clicked on this from my reccommended page and assumed it was an older video just cuz the recommendations be that way but then i saw its from today and now i am extremely pleased
Woah, when you said he looks like your brother I was expecting vague resemblance but like yeah that’s a crazy resemblance
I think your camera wants to focus on your little plush for some reason 💀 Great vid
"Adorkable" is an apt description for our favorite commentarian 😊
Dude! I used to play that pinball machine at summer camp. Also had an Addams Family pinball and a 4 player D&D cabinet. Good times, long past.
Can attest the Creature from the Black Lagoon pinball machine is incredibly fun. Also one of the (relatively speaking) cheaper tables out there--though it's much harder to find one in 100% working condition because it had a central effect that's hard to keep in proper upkeep.
amanda you look LOVELY!! you always look nice but your hair with that off the shoulder top!! love it!!
William editing Hermes' barking, admitting being ruggedly handsome, and confessing Swell is his favorite (but we're not supposed to tell her).... I live for this shit!!!! 🤣😂😄🤗 Hi Hermes! Hey William! You all are a great team! ☝🏿☝️☝🏼☝🏾☝🏻💪🏽💪💪🏾
ALSO! larray and nailea used to be some of my favorite youtubers. they were genuinely so fun and enjoyable until they started hanging out with the hype house, now i just can't stand them.
What about Pumpkin though?
I find comfort that I have no clue who any of these ppl are
4:46 lol i got on my phone during the video and thought u were actually talking to me
Man your new hair is doing things to me 😳...beautiful
I liked that the camera got its focus issues in order before the end of the video. I was worried the camera was going to keep being obsessed with the plush through the entire video
4:46 is either a mood or a callout, and I don't which is it yet
Well. not gonna lie: Netflix send me a push notification about it.
I have no idea why. I don't watch stuff like that.
Me too, no idea why????
Yeah, same here
i feel like theyre pushing it to audiences who regularly watch teen dramas or shows aimed at teens just bc its the same age range??? i GUESS??? plus the show is rated 12/pg-13 so they cant push it to kids accounts (aka the hype houses actual audiences)
At 4:47 I thought she was calling me out directly lol, and bust out laughing cause I was scrolling on my phone, and felt like the teacher called on me, jesus
I love how I'm not okay with this gets canceled and then this comes out /sarcastic (I'm seriously sad about this.)
I know I am supposed to be listening to your commentary but I am so distracted by how GORGEOUS your hair looks! 👏👏👏
So many people have done their hot takes on this show, but yours was the only one I actually wanted to watch. Thanks for saving me from watching it ☺️
11:50 Amanda says "you wanna live in a mansion? Go work for it." I heard in my head, Britney saying "You better work bitch!" Que the Britney song playing. Haha. "You want a Bugati, you better work bitch!" 🤣
Amanda, your hair is completely magnificent in this vid. I wish it was more in focus 🤪 no seriously though. Wife me
you are quite literally the funniest youtuber i’ve ever watched
I didn't know this was a show until maybe a couple of days ago. I only know of Alex because of the comparisons to David Dobrik.
Thanks for saving me the time :) This was the way to consume this content for sure haha
Its crazy how 8 tiktoks a month with rent paid is still too much work for these people
Insofar as I could sympathise with anyone in this show, it was Mia. She was basically the only one who understood Hype House was a business and these were business relationships, and seemed to be vilified by the rest for it.
