MonkeyButt 525 It’s not talked about due to the lack of offense, but as a 13 year old at the time, this series was fascinating from a defensive/Xs and Os standpoint.
Yea this really was a great series The matchup was perfect. Two extremely fundamentally sound teams, too phenomenal defenses, two all-around great rosters...and two of the greatest coaches ever
Because most casual fans care only about offensive highlights and that's the reason they like today's "sissy style" league. Real basketball fans enjoyed these finals cause two very well coached teams battled for 7 games. Basketball fundamentals at their very best.
I thought I was the only one who recognized that. The home team (Spurs) lost game 6, but won game 7. Every other home team who won game 7, was down 3-2 (‘88 Lakers, ‘94 Rockets, ‘10 Lakers, ‘13 Heat)
@@hamzaoui3461 That wasn't a 2-3-2 format. The 2-3-2 format was only used on the NBA Finals. The Miami/Boston series was 2-2-1-1-1 like is in use today.
This is real basketball people! We miss those days and not today’s basketball which is no defense only offense style , it’s not the same and will never be the same
This was a great series. I am a Knicks fan but I supported these Pistons teams in the playoffs as my Knicks sucked. Still feel as though the pistons were the better team in 05, but all the credit to the spurs also a great team by every measure. Robert Horry was insane in game 5 man :(
I was at Vegas while this game was happening, i put 60 bucks on the Pistons, everyone said i was crazy, i won 200 bucks. That was my first and last bet on a game.
If detroit could of only had game 7 in detroit at home i more then confident that they would of beaten the spurs who were not that physical .the crowd elevated them to that series win .and the exploits of robert horry in that critical game 5 .but much respect and championship resiliency on the part of the pistons for forcing a game 7
I'm still mad at Rasheed Wallace for leaving Horry open at the top of the key for 3 to go and help on Ginobli. Like if you were doing a scouting report you would realized that he's been doing that shit for 10 yrs at that point. He does have rings with 3 different franchises. Yeah, Detroit should've repeated as champions.
Don Raz Indiana Pacers got fucked. They were very good at the start of the season but they got guys that are suspended for 30 games in Stephen Jackson, Jermaine Oneal and Ron Artest was suspended for whole season and playoffs. That was Reggie Miller's last chance to get a Ring and 1 of their top 3 guys cant play in post season. They were suspended after the opening night in Detroit. The Pacers are confident that they would be the top team in the east that Season
Pacers we’re definitely a threat but they just didn’t have as strong of a mentality as Detroit or cohesiveness. It would of been interesting with Miami, Detroit and Indiana that year
Duncan, Parker, Ginobli, Bowen, Horry, and Barry, I don't see how detroit took them to 7 games. Detroit didn't have shit on their team except Rasheed Wallace. The Spurs should have won this in 5.
J W are you kidding prime Billups was a top 5 point in the league, Hamilton and Prince were great on ball defenders and could both hit big shots, then they had defensive player of the year wallace, and rasheed too
J W thats your opinion jackass but big ben wallace was an undersized center and the anchor of that great detroit defense and mr big shot chauncey billups was the engine that ran there offense not to mention power forward rasheed wallace was an all star freak athlete and is all ovet nba history playing for winning teams such as portland detroit and even making a finals appearance with boston .i can name at least 3 for sure futire hall of famers from those rugged detroit teams and if game 7 woyld have beem in the motor city deyroit would of have back to back titles something the spurs with all of there greatness has never accomplished .know your nba hardwood history before you speak playboy.
No teams in which lebron played during finals can beat both of these two teams. This was the last red line of basketball. After that year, Nba started to go down.
This has got to be one of the most underrated NBA Finals series of all time.

Hell yeah and I’m from Detroit

Carlos Arroyo, Richard Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, Rasheed Wallace, & Ben Wallace. That lineup would've put Detroit ahead in the series.
In all the years of the 2-3-2 Finals format (1985-2013) this was the only time that a team down 3-2 in the series won Game 6 on the road.
I thought I was the only one who recognized that. The home team (Spurs) lost game 6, but won game 7. Every other home team who won game 7, was down 3-2 (‘88 Lakers, ‘94 Rockets, ‘10 Lakers, ‘13 Heat)
Miami vs Boston 2012?

Mithaq EL Nemo nah the finals always had good defense
Also need to recognize that offense is better today. It’s not always about “better defense” back then

He killed us in this finals. Pistons killer
The Spurs were the better team in my eyes
Chauncey and Lindsey with identical reactions to McDyess' and-1 at 7:47.
Jivan Zazaian haha awesome 2 point that out. Thank you sir. Jus had a good laugh
imagine pistons had young carmelo instead of Darko!
No doubt melo will muscle bowen at manu inside. help piston in scoring
Man we should've won this series smh
I was at Vegas while this game was happening, i put 60 bucks on the Pistons, everyone said i was crazy, i won 200 bucks. That was my first and last bet on a game.
Exceptionally skilled bigs and guards.
It's so sexy how the offense ran through Manu like this
Benton Parker Ginobili in his prime is a sight to behold
This serie4s was a classic!

@@foggylungs game 7 had some bad officiating tbh, definitely favoring the spurs
Too much dribble penetration and wide open 3's killed my Pistons, that really was the difference in the series.
It seemed as if Parker and Ginobi were in the lane all day, every game.
God you really gotta respect popavitch . Basketball his way just looks good , on both ends . And what a team to execute it . Talk about under dogs
Gutsy performance by the champs. Really should've been a closeout and repeat title winning game for Detroit.
Should draft melo and sure will be competitive on succeeding years
09:51 BRO HE SAID BANG ONE BEFORE IT EVEN WENT INN BRAHH
tayshaun prince didnt give a fuck man. dude was underrated as hell.
Best series
Props to Detroit Pistons for forcing a game 7 at our home court. Those were the times.
What a thing.
Ginobili should have been finals mvp
1:56 softest shot ever
all the players playing in 05 finals have retired or already out of NBA, except Parker.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Parker gone now…😢
Good Detroit team
5:45 Tim😂
Sheed clutch
BILLUPS COULD SHOOT THAT THING. ALL DAY
the pistons won on there floor wow
Классика
Rest in the good news 💐🌑👍 Okay Bye

Did you start a new channel besides AMZ sport 2? If so could u please upload Cavaliers vs Celtics January 31 2012
Spurs a ganar
If Malice in the palace never happened. Detroit wouldn’t be playing the spurs in this finals
How so?

@@MrIncredibleGuy Because Indiana was better that year and they would had advanced to the finals.
@@82panther Well no actually they weren't. You can talk about what ifs all you want but nobody in the East was better than Detroit.
